How will coronavirus outbreak affect confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett?

After two members of the Senate Judiciary Committee tested positive for the coronavirus, Republicans say they want to move forward and confirm Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court. Democrats say itโ€™s too dangerous to go forward and itโ€™s appropriate to pause the process.

Senate Democrats demand delay in Amy Coney Barrett hearing due to COVID-19

https://nypost.com/2020/10/04/schumer-klobuchar-demand-delay-in-barrett-hearing-due-to-covid-19/

Senate Democrats on Sunday continued to press for postponing a hearing on President Trumpโ€™s Supreme Court nominee Judge Amy Coney Barrett โ€” insisting the chamber is now too unsafe after three GOP senators tested positive for the coronavirus.

Addressing the infections of Sens. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, Thom Tillis of North Carolina and Mike Lee of Utah, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said that the โ€œfull exposureโ€ of the Senate or Capitol Hill staff is still unknown.

โ€œAs we continue to learn of additional colleagues testing positive for COVID-19, it is increasingly clear that rushing Amy Coney Barrettโ€™s hearing forward in the midst of a COVID outbreak in the White House and Senate would turn an illegitimate process into a reckless and dangerous one,โ€ the New York Democrat said during a news conference in Manhattan.

An SUV driver plowed into a group of bicyclists near Madison Square Park in Manhattan on Saturday night, leaving two of them hospitalized with minor injuries.

The bicyclists were participating in a Black Lies Matter โ€œJustice Rideโ€ and pedaling south on Fifth Avenue at 7:17 p.m. when the driver โ€” who remained at large early Sunday โ€” sped into the group at 25th Street, police said.

A 19-year-old woman was taken to Bellevue Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, while a 37-year-old man refused medical help, according to police sources.

The driver, meanwhile, sped away in what sources say was a 2014 black Infiniti QX6

PRINCE Harry faces a "monumental tax bill" unless he "takes a break" from his ยฃ11million Californian mansion, it has been claimed.

The Duke of Sussex, who moved to Los Angeles with Meghan Markle and their son Archie in May, will be legally obliged to pay taxes in the country once he has lived there for 183 days.

Harry and Meghan were first reported to be living in the US on May 7 - staying at a Beverly Hills mansion owned by TV producer Tyler Perry.

It means Harry, 36, has now been in the US for at least 151 days - just weeks away from the 183 day mark.

Top LA tax lawyer David Holtz said: "You can safely assume that someone at the Internal Revenue Service [IRS] is looking very closely at him. This is a big deal."
