Anons…this story brought a tear to my eye. I’ve always respected Jack Nicklaus, but this project truly cements him as a patriot. I love golf and I will definitely put this course on my "must play" bucket list. Whether you love the game of golf or hate it, this man is a legend!

The course has five sets of tees and plays at a maximum yardage of 7,213. The number 13 is prominent throughout American Dunes because it signifies the number of folds in an American flag that is presented to the family of a deceased service member. Every day at 1 p.m., which is 1300 hours in military time, golf will pause on the course. “We will play ‘Taps’ and we will have a bell that tolls 13 times that will be heard all across the golf course,” Rooney said. “And that signifies the 13 folds that bring the flag to its triangle shape, the ultimate symbol of freedom in this country. And we will pause for 2 ½ minutes every day at this golf course, American Dunes, to remember the fact that freedom isn’t free.”
Annual profits from the course will benefit Folds of Honor.
