The problem with putting CoV2 under a microscope like this is that it means nothing without comparisons to previous studies looking at mental alterations following the common cold.

 

Considering CoV2 is likely a gain of function mutant virus, we might have an a priori expectation that it will potentially have more severe cognitive impairment associated with it particularly if there is greater pro inflammatory cytokine release, but let’s face it, a bad cold can throw normal people for a loop. I have even had colds that made me more emotional liable for a few days, but that just comes with life.

 

What we shouldn’t be doing is prolonging this viruses impact by preventing social activity among kids and college students, who ultimately help establish herd immunity.
