I don't think it was a person i think it was an aerosol attack with the virus placed in the air near the podium.
Do your research even superspreaders do not infect that many people in the period of time the event had them collected together.
in this case it could be as small as a perfume bottle or binaca spray.
if it was placed in the groundskeepers spray for mosquitoes it would probably infected more people
if we knew the wind pattern that day we could probably isolate the place the spray was from if from the audience.
