So let me get this straight, WWI started because a Serb assassinated Archduke Franz Ferdinand.

Austria asked Germany to help since France & Russia were on Serbias side.

Towards the end of the war, Austria decided to give up & Germany was pissed but kept on fighting.

I binged watched(gotta watch the last episode shortly) a WWI 10 episode series last night & Public Schools in the 80's didn't really get into it or I just forgot.

but DAMN. Germany was having a good life until the guy in charge decided to go to war without thinking it all through.

Oh, and that "Code" the British "cracked" that said Germany wanted Mexico to invade the US is some straight up bullshit. That was the only way the Allies could get the US to help them fight Germany.

I know I sound dumb because I should know all this but oh well. I'm trying to learn things now.

But fuck. WWI was started & continued for dumb reasons, killing so many.

I'm gonna watch all about WWII next.

I didn't think it started that soon in the schools(early 80's-90's). But the more I think about it, the more things I realize I was never taught.
