Been a busy season - they actually ran past the 1st wave of people names.
Every time that happens they cycle back to the top and start using the greek alpha names.
They've never exhausted those before (and prolly won't this year, either).
It's been inland on the Yucatan - wait until it's been back out to see for a few hours and it'll be back to looking like a classic hurricane.
