New England Journal of Medicine condemns Trump administration for response to COVID-19 in ‘unprecedented move’

The New England Journal of Medicine published an editorial signed by its editors on Wednesday that condemns the Trump administration’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and calls for the current political leaders to be voted out of office. “The magnitude of this failure is astonishing,” the editorial reads. The journal is not the only medical or scientific publication to take a political stance ahead of the presidential election, as Scientific American announced in September that it was endorsing Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden.
