White House Security Official Reportedly Caught COVID-19 Weeks Ago, Is 'Gravely Ill'
Bloomberg just published a scoopthat could upend the discussion around the White House outbreak, with barely an hour left before the start of Wednesday's one-and-only VP debate.
White House security official Crede Bailey is reportedly gravely ill with the coronavirus, and has been hospitalized since September. The White House has not disclosed Bailey's condition, but he became sick before the Sept. 26 Rose Garden event to honor Amy Coney Barrett.
Bailey is in charge of the White House security office, which handles credentialing for access to the White House and works closely with the Secret Service.
Though he has kept a low profile for almost the entirety of his career, Bailey was swept up in the controversy last year over security clearances granted to Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, and son-in-law Jared Kushner. Though the Hill reported at the time that Bailey privately testified to the House Oversight Committee that he hadn't been pressured by others at the White House to grant clearances.
Details are scarce, but the implication thus far is clear: The White House outbreak may have started even before Barrett's nomination event, which would suggest that the White House declaration that Trump's illness is 'untraceable' is actually an attempt to cover up this fact.
Thought for all we know, Bailey's sickness could be totally unrelated to his work at the White House, and it may have been contained.
Bloomberg broke the news shortly after President Trump declared that Regeneron's experimental therapeutic was "a cure". Though it was only one of several medications he took, with the others including Gilead's remdesivir and the steroid dexamethasone. Though Bailey probably doesn't see the virus as "a blessing" like Trump said.

Trump Says All US Troops in Afghanistan Will Be 'Home By Christmas'
The remaining troops deployed to Afghanistan "should" be "home by Christmas," declared US President Donald Trump on Wednesday - the 19th anniversary of the US invasion of Afghanistan.
Trump took to social media Wednesday evening to announce that despite recent news, the American people should expect a December 25 return of the "small remaining number" of US troops deployed to Afghanistan.
Earlier Wednesday, White House national security adviser Robert O'Brien claimed that there'd only be a substantial decrease in deployed troops by early 2021.
"When President Trump took office, there were over 10,000 American troops in Afghanistan. As of today there are under 5,000, and that will go to 2,500 by early next year,” he told attendees of an event at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
O'Brien highlighted "Americans need to come home" while stressing that "Afghans themselves are going to have to work out an accord, a peace agreement," with the Taliban.
Reuters noted that dozens of Afghan civilians have been killed in recent weeks. At the same time, peace talks in the Qatari capital of Doha have stalled.
Political-military analyst Brian Downing told Radio Sputnik's Political Misfits on Wednesday that "all sides" involved in current Afghan affairs "are pretty tired of war."
“I think it’s dragging on for two reasons: first, Donald Trump has signaled, rather carelessly, an eagerness to get out, and that’s not exactly a good position to have going into negotiations," he told hosts Bob Schlehuber and Michelle Witte.
"Second, I think there are people in the Taliban who feel that they can reconquer most of the country and that a peace agreement would simply be a concession - too big a concession - to the other powers inside Afghanistan.”

Pope Condemns Death Penalty While Praising Pro-Death Penalty Imam
In his new encyclical Fratelli Tutti, the Woke Pope casts aside 2,000 years of unbroken tradition and declares: “Today we state clearly that ‘the death penalty is inadmissible’ and the Church is firmly committed to calling for its abolition worldwide.” That’s just great, but there’s one little catch. In the encyclical he cites and praises al-Azhar’s Grand Sheikh Ahmad al-Tayyeb, who has declared: “The four schools of law all concur that apostasy is a crime, that an apostate should be asked to repent, and that if he does not, he should be killed.” Apparently Pope Francis now subscribes to the idea of the death penalty for thee, but not for me, all in the name of “dialogue.”
As you might expect with Pope Francis, it gets even worse. ChurchMilitant notes that in the new encyclical, al-Tayyeb is very much the star of the show; he is mentioned five times, including this: “I have felt particularly encouraged by the Grand Imam Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, with whom I met in Abu Dhabi, where we declared that ‘God has created all human beings equal in rights, duties and dignity, and has called them to live together as brothers and sisters.’”
Francis was referring to the Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together that Francis and al-Tayyeb signed. Both that document and the new encyclical are as filled with falsehoods and wishful thinking as one would expect coming from a practiced deceiver such as al-Tayyeb and someone so eager to be deceived as the Pope.
What does al-Tayyeb really think about the equality and dignity of all human beings? In a 2016 interview, al-Tayyeb said that “We should be aware that the concepts of human rights are full of ticking time bombs.” In a 2019 interview, the grand imam elaborated: “Is equality an absolute principle or a limited principle? We can see that the Islamic notion of equality is limited. However, the Western notion of equality is, I’m very sad to say, absolute. It has destroyed – or has strived to destroy – many of the values that are more vital for the stability of people’s lives. If we examine the Western notion of equality… As a researcher I have the right to say that in my opinion this notion is false.”
Here’s one of the new encyclical’s egregiously false statements, quoting the Abu Dhabi declaration:
For this reason, “terrorism is deplorable and threatens the security of people – be they in the East or the West, the North or the South – and disseminates panic, terror and pessimism, but this is not due to religion, even when terrorists instrumentalize it. It is due, rather, to an accumulation of incorrect interpretations of religious texts and to policies linked to hunger, poverty, injustice, oppression and pride. That is why it is so necessary to stop supporting terrorist movements fuelled by financing, the provision of weapons and strategy, and by attempts to justify these movements, even using the media. All these must be regarded as international crimes that threaten security and world peace. Such terrorism must be condemned in all its forms and expressions.”
