back home….

>may be under orders to separate himself

That could be. It would be nice if in the end, a whole bunch of former officials (who were at one point darlings of the movement but later publicly turned against POTUS) would suddenly show back up for a grand DS Takedown Party.

I don't know what to trust, really. I believe that Q is feeding good drops on the board, but I also know that (according to same Q) this place is the world wide "Mos Eisley Cantina". If disinfo is necessary, and if future news unlocks drops, and if the fate of our nation and the world is in the balance, and if the swamp runs deep, and if "you only knew how bad it really is"…… well, I have a hard time thinking that a tidy and easily understood picture is presented so that all patrons of the Cantina are able to enjoy it. I don't think Information Warfare looks pretty. I think it looks just like real warfare, with burned out buildings, ruined lives, deceptions, lots of hard to categorize casualties, many cut and dry casualties, chaos and fog of war, etc….

For myself, I have to make a choice. And I see you making a choice and I respect it. I can speculate on what Mattis is doing in terms of optics and reality, but I can't know for certain. What I do know is that he took a public stance agains POTUS and there is a large and diverse group of characters working in concert who continually take a stand against POTUS. If one day POTUS himself comes out and says "Mad Dog" is one of us, one of the BEST of us…. well, I'll snap to without hesitation. Until then, I can only go with how I see things, and since I'm just a pair of eyes on the ground in my little corner of the field and not sitting mid-table at Mission Control….. Mattis looks (to me at this moment) like what plagues every long-standing institution the entire world over. Someone who has been in it for a life time, survived through numerous bosses with differing visions, coalesced a personal world vision (through amalgamating the various visions of former bosses) that he is invested in (even ordered men to their deaths for it), and is willing to buck against the newest boss who is the outsider coming in to run the institution (a leader who everyone already is against, one with powerful enemies that have a chance to still be around after the presidential term(s) are finished if not "biblically" wiped off the face of the earth).

sorry if that was a bit of a rant.

I appreciate your optimism about Mattis, and I think there is enough fog around all of this that things could turn out in any number of unexpected ways. I'm just taking my position on it as best I can; I already work for an institution that suffers under either the inability to make good informed decisions (preferring to waffle indefinitely on an issue until nothing changes except the topic) or chooses to make a rash uniformed decision with usually expensive consequences. This is my attempt to be neither rash nor indecisive. I guess I'll see how it all turns out. I would be more than happy to be wrong about Mattis. I'd be happy to be wrong about ANYONE if me being wrong meant they were far better than my assumption(s).
