Right now, deep state treasonous actors — including FBI director Christopher Wray and head of the CIA Gina Haspel — have refused to declassify those documents in order to protect their corrupt, criminal agencies. But Trump has had enough, and he’s demanding their full release.

Once released, these documents will provide smoking gun evidence that proves Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, James Comey, John Brennan and other deep state traitors actively engaged in a criminal conspiracy to overthrow a duly elected president of the United States of America.

It almost goes without saying, but once these facts are proven, every traitor who took part in this operation should be arrested, charged with treason, prosecuted and executed if found guilty.

But the criminal prosecutions shouldn’t stop there.

New DARPA-Funded Tech Promises to Diagnose COVID-19 Through Implantable Biochip

A new mRNA diagnostic tool developed at Stanford University and funded by BARDA and DARPA is bringing implantable biochip technology closer to reality.

The POC (point-of-care) diagnostics market stands at about $18.8 billion globally, according to recent market trends, and is expected to grow by a third to $24.1 billion this year and projected to explode by 2024 to $46.7 billion. The main driver for these highly optimistic forecasts is the surge in healthcare technology demand brought on by the pandemic crisis, which is lining the pockets of big pharma and big tech, aided and abetted by the Defense Department’s various tentacles into the private sector, like DARPA or In-Q-Tel, where federal dollars are channeled into private enterprise through direct investment, stock purchasing, and grants, representing one of the clearest examples of how the military industrial complex works.

The “detection” of COVID-19 is among the most crowded segments of the POC diagnostics market and recent advances in the life sciences have made new technologies, such as mRNA-based vaccines and testing possible. In other words, the tests aren’t designed to detect COVID-19 at all, which raises a number of questions, including why the Defense Advanced Research Agency (DARPA) just awarded $1.1 million to a molecular diagnostic firm that is working on a machine-learning diagnostic test for COVID-19, that uses mRNA biomarkers to read the immune system’s response.

At Least 52 Killed as Fighting Picks Up in Vital Yemen Aid Port

Hodeidah is source of 70% of humanitarian imports into Yemen

Yemeni officials are reporting 52 people were killed in the past five days as fighting in the vital aid port of Hodeidah has continued to escalate. The fighting is centering on the towns south of the port, where Saudi-backed forces are trying once again to seize the area.

The 52 slain included combatants and civilians, the first fighting in months in an area that is meant to be under a state of ceasefire, protecting a port that supplies 70% of Yemen’s humanitarian import, and is materially the only source of food for northern Yemen.

The ceasefire deals were meant to demilitarize Hodeidah, and give the locals control of the port. The deals on moving forces out of the area have often stalled, and this is one of the biggest escalations in months. Saudi-backed officials have believed control of the port is a blow to the Houthis, who depend on it for food.

This was a big part of why the UN tried to push a ceasefire, to prevent the Saudis from using food as a weapon. The current fighting probably isn’t enough to threaten the port itself, but could suggest a new escalation as the war continues to drag on with no signs of resolution.

FACEBOOK TAKES DOWN PRO TRUMP ADS BY RALLY FORGE

On Thursday, Facebook released its monthly coordinated inauthentic behavior report, including a takedown on a US campaign in favor of the Trump administration.

The head of Facebook’s cybersecurity policy, Nathaniel Gleicher, said that a disinformation campaign that came from Rally Forge, which is a U.S. marketing firm working on behalf of the conservative group Turning Point USA, was taken down.

According to Gleicher, Rally Forge created 200 fake Facebook accounts, 76 Instagram accounts and 55 pages on Facebook starting in 2018, and posted comments on political topics, posing as real people while using stock photos.

Topics included the 2020 presidential election, COVID-19 and praise of President Donald Trump. They also posted comments in support of trophy hunting in Kenya. In one example comment, a fake persona attacked the integrity of mail-in voting.

“Mail-in ballots are such a horrible idea. A dangerous number of ballots will be lost or won’t arrive in time. The smartest thing to do is to vote in person,” the fake personality said in a Facebook comment on an article about mail-in voting in Iowa.

“Turning Point Action works hard to operate within social platforms’ [terms of services] on all of its projects and communications and we hope to work closely with [Facebook] to rectify any misunderstanding,” Turning Point USA said in a statement. Rally Forge has since been banned from Facebook, but Turning Point USA is still active on the social network.

Their pages had about 373,000 followers on Facebook and 22,000 followers on Instagram, and spent about $973,000 on ads before the takedown. It appears that Facebook took their almost $1 million in ads and then took them down!

There Is Conspiracy Against Armenia And Pashinyan Government Is In Center Of It

The Armed Forces of Azerbaijan supported by Turkey continue their large-scale offensive to capture the contested Nagorno-Karabakh region from Armenian forces. Following the gains of the previous days, when Azerbaijani forces captured the towns of Talish, Jabrayil and Mataghis, they developed momentum in the Jabrayil district capturing the villages of Shikhali Agali, Sari jali, and Mezre, and several other hill tops, according to the country’s president Ilham Aliyev.

Currently, Azerbaijani forces are working to consolidate their gains and conduct artillery and air strikes on positions of the Armenians preparing for a further offensive. So, the Azerbaijani advance slowed down due to weather conditions. The bad weather in the area complicates the usage of combat drones and aviation.

Meanwhile, forces of the Armenian Nagorno-Karabakh Republic announced that they had carried out ‘powerful’ retaliation strikes on territory of Azerbaijan. Armenian sources insist that after the strikes, several hundred thousand residents of different cities of Azerbaijan have been fleeing in panic to Baku. The Armenian military claimed that Azerbaijan paid a heavy price for the recent gains. According to it, Armenian forces inflicted to the ‘enemy’ 3154 casualties and destroyed 368 armoured vehicles, 4 rocket launchers, 124 UAVs, 17 military planes and 14 helicopters. The Armenian side emphasizes that Azerbaijani forces have been extensively bombing civilian targets, including the largest Karabakh city, Stepanakert. Azerbaijan denounces these claims as blatant propaganda.

The ongoing Azerbaijani advance is not only supported by Turkey and involves Turkish military specialists, special forces and military equipment, but also became another case of the employment of Turkish-backed Syrian militants.

On October 5, Russia’s state-run news agency RIA reported citing its own sources that at least 93 Turkish-backed militants had been killed since the start of the war on September 27. The report added that at least 450 more militants were deployed to the combat zone last weekend. This was reportedly the third batch of Syrian militants deployed to the area.

The Turkish-Azerbaijani bloc has been taking an upper hand in the battle against Armenian forces. The decisive role belongs to the air dominance and the numerical superiority of the Azerbaijani side. The only current advantage of Armenian forces is the low quality of Azerbaijani infantry and Turkish-backed Syrian militants involved in the ground advance as well as the low planning and management skills of the ground phase of the Azerbaijani operation.

Azerbaijani infantry and motorized units marching towards fortified positions of Armenians become an easy target for counter-attacks, artillery and missile strikes. This reminds one of the approaches employed by Turkey in Syria and Libya, when Ankara was sending waves of cannon fodder (consisting of members of various militant groups) to capture positions of the ‘enemy’, while Turkish special forces, artillery and air power were doing the main job.

During a protest at the Bar Ilan Bridge in central Israel, a demonstrator was lightly injured after being attacked with pepper spray, according to Hebrew media reports. He was taken to nearby Sheba Medical Center in Ramat Gan for treatment.

Police opened an investigation into the incident.

Late Wednesday, the Prime Minister’s Office said cabinet ministers approved by a telephone vote the extension of the lockdown measures, including the limits on protests. They will remain in place at least until Tuesday.

Israel imposed a nationwide lockdown ahead of the High Holidays last month to rein in a surging coronavirus outbreak. The Knesset passed a law last week allowing the government to declare a special week-long state of emergency to limit participation in assemblies because of the pandemic. The government then declared the state of emergency, limiting all public gatherings to within a kilometer (half a mile) of a person’s home.

Netanyahu has said the restrictions are driven by safety concerns as the country battles a runaway pandemic, but critics and protesters accuse him of tightening the lockdown to muzzle dissent.

Thousands of Israelis have participated in weekly demonstrations outside Netanyahu’s official residence in Jerusalem for months this summer, calling on the longtime prime minister to resign while on trial for corruption.

FBI uncovers armed militia plot to abduct Michigan Gov. Whitmer

The FBI said Thursday it uncovered a plot carried out by an armed militia in Michigan to kidnap Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

In total, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel filed 19 state felony charges against seven individuals known to be members of the militia group, Wolverine Watchmen or associates of Wolverine Watchmen. Separately, six individuals were also charged by U.S. Attorney Andrew Birge with federal felony charges as a result of the execution of search warrants Wednesday.

The suspects, now under arrest, are alleged to have called on the groups’ members to identify the home addresses of law enforcement officers in order to target them; made threats of violence to instigate a civil war leading to societal collapse; and engaged in the planning and training for an operation to attack the state Capitol building and kidnap government officials, including Gov. Whitmer.

“There has been a disturbing increase in anti-government rhetoric and the re-emergence of groups that embrace extremist ideologies,” Nessel said. “These groups often seek to recruit new members by seizing on a moment of civil unrest and using it to advance their agenda of self-reliance and armed resistance. This is more than just political disagreement or passionate advocacy, some of these groups’ mission is simply to create chaos and inflict harm upon others.”

Through the efforts of more than 200 state and federal law enforcement officials, officers executed a series of search warrants and arrest warrants in more than a dozen cities around the state, including, Belleville, Cadillac, Canton, Charlotte, Clarkston, Grand Rapids, Luther, Munith, Orion Township, Ovid, Portage, Shelby Township and Waterford, according to a press release.

Paul Bellar, Shawn Fix, Eric Molitor, Michael Null, William Null, Pete Musico and Joseph Morrison are all facing state-related terrorism charges related to the militia plot. The six individuals facing federal charges for allegedly conspiring to kidnap the governor are Adam Fox, Barry Croft, Ty Garbin, Kaleb Franks, Daniel Harris, and Brandon Caserta.

ICE, local law enforcement agencies announce results of operation targeting sex trafficking

HOUSTON — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in Houston, Texas, and the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday the results of an operation targeting sex trafficking in Fort Bend County, Texas.

The operation dubbed “Operation Patriot” targeted sex trafficking organizations and sex buyers from Sept. 9 – 16.

Forty-six individuals were arrested as a result of the operation, including six arrests for promotion of prostitution, 40 arrests for prostitution and six arrests for narcotics.

HSI Houston Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC) Mary Magness explained why it is critical to target both the trafficking organizations and the sex buyers.

“What we often find is if you only eliminate the supply-side of sex trafficking, another criminal organization will move in to fulfill the demand,” explained ASAC Magness. “So we simultaneously target both the organizations behind the sex trafficking and the people who support it, to more effectively eradicate this vile criminal activity from the community.”

In addition to the 46 criminal arrests, HSI Houston and local law enforcement rescued five victims. HSI employs a victim-centered approach to combat human trafficking, which places equal importance on the identification and stabilization of victims, as the identification and prosecution of traffickers.

“Sex traffickers often rely on physical and sexual abuse, threats of harm, economic and psychological manipulation, and cruelty to force their victims to engage in commercial sex,” said ASAC Magness. “To better confront these realities of human trafficking, we integrate trauma-informed victim support services throughout our criminal investigation.”

Other agencies involved in the operation included: the Department of Family & Protective Services; Department of Public Safety; DeliverFund; Federal Bureau of Investigation; Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office; Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office; Fort Bend County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office; Fort Bend County Precinct 2 Constable’s Office; Fort Bend County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office; Galveston County District Attorney’s Office; Harris County District Attorney’s Office; Harris County Precinct 5 Constable’s Office; Harris County Sheriff’s Office; Houston Police Department; Missouri City Police Department; Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office; Office of the Texas Attorney General; Stafford Police Department; Texas Alcohol and Beverage Commission; Texas Forensic Nurse Examiners; and the YMCA – International.

HSI Houston is a partner in the Human Trafficking Rescue Alliance (HTRA) for the Southern District of Texas. The HTRA is a multidisciplinary human trafficking task force that implements collaborative approaches to combat all forms of human trafficking in the Southern District of Texas.

In FY 2019, HSI Houston, working in conjunction with the HTRA, arrested 205 individuals for human trafficking-related offenses, which accounted for approximately 10% of all human trafficking-related arrests in the U.S.

Texas Dem House Candidate Hasn’t Lived in Texas for Years

Helane Seikaly used parents' address to vote in Texas while she lived in California

A Texas Democratic House candidate voted as recently as last year using her parents' Dallas address while she was living and working in California.

Helane "Lulu" Sawsan Seikaly, who is challenging Republican incumbent Van Taylor in Texas's Third Congressional District, worked in California until at least last year as an attorney for a Sacramento-based law firm and as a professor at the University of California Davis. Using an address linked to her parents, however, Seikaly voted in Texas in both 2016 and 2018, public records show.

A couple of weeks after filing to run for the House last December, Seikaly switched her registration from Dallas to Collin County, Texas.

Seikaly, who is casting herself as somebody who "understands the challenges facing North Texans," has downplayed her recent residency in California. She makes no mention of it on her campaign website. But her work history, including for a law firm that boasts "deep roots in California," raises questions as to why she continued to vote in Texas rather than in the Golden State, and the perception that Seikaly returned to Texas only to launch a congressional bid could prove a stumbling block on the campaign trail.

Asked to describe her "length of residency in Texas" in a Dallas Morning News questionnaire earlier this year, Seikaly did not mention that she lived and worked in California until recently.

"My parents came to North Texas in the late 80s when I was a year old. It's been home ever since," she wrote in the questionnaire.

Seikaly was admitted into the California bar on June 2, 2014, according to the association's website, and is still listed as an active attorney in the state. She is also a member of Phi Delta Phi, an international legal society, and her membership record with the organization lists her as a resident of Roseville, Calif.

Seikaly worked as an employment lawyer at the Sacramento-based Churchwell White LLP from January 2015 to March 2020, according to her LinkedIn page. Churchwell White describes itself as "a law firm with deep roots in California."

"We focus on results, while providing exceptional client service and helping our clients navigate across complexities that are unique to California," the company's website says.

2nd Top General Tests Positive For Virus As Pentagon Scrambles To Trace Contacts

Following Monday's announcement that the vice commandant of the US Coast Guard Admiral Charles Ray tested positive for COVID-19 after exhibiting mild symptoms, almost all generals of the Joint Chiefs of Staff began quarantining at home, while ensuring the public their working from home will not fundamentally impact military readiness.

The Pentagon thereupon initiated careful contact tracing given that Adm. Ray had in the days prior to his positive test attended "several" meetings with generals and staff in "secure areas" of the Pentagon.

And now another top commander has become infected. Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps Gary Thomas tested positive for the virus on Wednesday, after reporting that he came into contact with Adm. Ray in at least two military events.

The Marines' second-in-command said he's experiencing "mild symptoms" but is generally "feeling well," according to a Marine Corps statement.

"The Marine Corps has started contact tracing and any Marines who were in close contact with Thomas will enter quarantine," the statement underscored.

The only one among the Joint Chiefs to not be under home quarantine is General David H. Berger, the commandant of the Marine Corps, who was not present for any of the recent meetings involving the Coast Guard #2.

Ray had attended two large events, now subject of contact tracing, including a Sept.27 event with a Gold Star family at the White House, and a meeting of the Joint Chiefs on Oct.2.

US Treasury Imposes Crushing Sanctions On 18 Major Iranian Banks

No matter what level of emergency crisis is unfolding at the White House, there's always room for more sanctions on Iran, apparently, and 'maximum pressure' is always on.

On Thursday the US Treasury announced fresh sanctions on 18 more Iranian banks, according to the department's website, in order to “stop illicit access to U.S. dollars.”

This after last month the Trump administration was reportedly mulling aggressive sanctions on the entirety of Iran's financial system, essentially seeking to cut the Islamic Republic off entirely from the outside world. Thus it now appears Washington is moving to effectively blacklist the entire Iranian financial system in this latest devastating blow.

"As part of this action, OFAC sanctioned sixteen Iranian banks for operating in Iran’s financial sector and one bank for being owned or controlled by a sanctioned Iranian bank," US Treasury announced. "Additionally, today’s action includes the designation of an Iranian military-affiliated bank under Treasury’s counter-proliferation authority."

The names of the eighteen newly sanctioned banks, including Hekmat Iranian Bank, the key institution said to be servicing Iran’s armed forces and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, are listed on the US Treasury website.

“Our sanctions programs will continue until Iran stops its support of terrorist activities and ends its nuclear programs,” the Treasury statement continued. It further addressed the controversy behind Washington cutting off humanitarian aid and transactions, explicitly saying the action against the banks will "continue to allow for humanitarian transactions to support the Iranian people."

But there have been growing complaints that Western companies which are already skittish about doing any level of humanitarian goods transactions in Iran are over-complying, for fear of US repercussions.

The US is doing everything it can to suffocate and crush the people of Iran. By imposing these sanctions, the US is cutting off Iranians from food and medicine.

European allies have been warning the US-led actions are taking Iran to the brink of total economic collapse, which will be felt most by the common populace, while failing to dislodge the regime.

Not only are the new bank sanctions in defiance of these warnings, but appear to be part of a big pre-election foreign policy push to appear "tough" on Iran, also as the Biden campaign has signaled it would reverse much of the Trump administration's punitive policies.

In the case of a Biden victory in November, this would include the likelihood that the 2015 nuclear deal (JCPOA) brokered under Obama will be restored, assuming Iran comes back into compliance after its recent moves to increase uranium enrichment.

Israel and Jordan sign historic airspace agreement

The deal allows flights crossing over one country to also fly over the other.

Israel and Jordan reached an agreement allowing flights to cross over both countries’ airspace, the Transportation Ministry announced on Thursday.

The deal allows flights crossing over one country to also fly over the other.

The agreement will significantly shorten the length of flights from Israel to the Gulf and East Asia, cutting the time it takes to travel between countries and cutting gas costs and pollution.

It will also allow the UAE and Bahrain, which recently made peace with Israel, along with other countries in the region, to fly over Israeli airspace.

Jerusalem and Amman reached the deal after several years, but peace between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia allowing Israeli flights to the UAE over its airspace hastened the process.

The European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation, known as EUROCONTROL, played a major part in negotiating the agreement.

Transportation Minister Miri Regev said “we are once again breaking new boundaries, and this time it is in the air.

“Thanks to this agreement, Israel is better integrated into the region,” she added. “We are opening new routes for cooperation in transportation, economics and diplomacy with the states sharing borders and shared interests with us, and a partnership in the vision for regional peace.”

State to High Court: Coronavirus mass protest ban justified

Amir Peretz says protests restrictions to be lifted next week

The state told the High Court of Justice late Wednesday night that the Knesset law banning mass protests for a period of weeks during the current novel coronavirus national lockdown is justified.

The Movement for the Quality of Government in Israel – one of the petitioners hoping to convince the High Court to end the mass protest ban – rejected the state’s position when it responded in the middle of the night between Wednesday and Thursday.

On Thursday, a court spokeswoman stated that the court would hear the case on Tuesday. The hearing would be days after Sukkot and close to when the ban may be removed, perhaps rendering the petition of little use.

By slow-walking their petition to strike down new coronavirus limits on demonstrations, the High Court had made it clear that it would not rush in to help the protest movement against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, already on September 30.

Effectively, the High Court will have put zero pressure on the government during a full two weeks when mass protests were banned, by dragging out the petition from September 30 until at least October 13 and possibly longer until a decision is made.

Economy Minister Amir Peretz said he believes the restrictions on protests will be lifted next week.

“We will cancel the restrictions on holding protests very soon,” Peretz told Army Radio on Thursday. “I believe that starting next Tuesday or Wednesday, all protest restrictions will be lifted and the economy will start reopening. There shouldn’t be a connection between opening up the economy and protests restrictions, but a connection has already been made.”

The background for the court petitions to the High Court stems from the authority to block mass protests for between one to three weeks that was granted to the government in late September by the Knesset when an amendment to the coronavirus emergency powers law was passed. It also includes an option to extend the ban for an additional two weeks with another Knesset approval to extend it.

Mass protests near the Prime Minister’s Residence – as had occurred every weekend in recent months – were prevented by the amendment. Protests are still allowed for up to 20 people within 1 km. of a person’s residence.

The key to the protests being effective was their unbroken consistency according to the petitioners. They had hoped the High Court would intervene already on October 2, and accused Netanyahu of using the COVID-19 crisis as an excuse to crack down on dissent.

NY Times Podcast Star Lied About Joining ISIS

The top U.S. newspaper has been exposed for overseeing another large-scale fake news operation.

The main source for The New York Times’ award-winning podcast, “Caliphate,” has been arrested and charged with lying about joining ISIS. The major media outlet had relied on this man’s fabricated story as the core of its reporting, and said two U.S. government officials had independently confirmed his identity.

On Sept. 30 the Times said it was beginning a review of the podcast. But the fake news spread by the American “newspaper of record” has touched off a political scandal in Canada.

Hosted by Times’ reporter Rukmini Callimachi, the Caliphate podcast claims to tell the story of the rise and fall of the so-called Islamic State in Syria and Iraq. The show has attracted millions of listeners, and is one of the most popular podcasts on the globe. The New York Times’ PR team actively boasts of its work on the “chart-topping show” in marketing materials.

The podcast has aggressively pushed the propaganda line of Syria’s Western government-backed opposition. While the paper was publicly praised for its “nuance” in “humanizing” Salafi-jihadist foreign fighters who joined ISIS, massacred civilians, ethnically cleansed religious minorities, and turned women into sex slaves, Caliphate simultaneously portrayed the Syrian government that defeated ISIS as the epitome of evil.

The host of the podcast, Callimachi, euphemistically described genocidal ISIS extremists as “rebels fighting Assad’s soldiers, standing up for the Muslim people,” while blaming the rise of the Islamic State on the “crimes of President Bashar al-Assad” and depicting the “Assad regime” as a collection of sadists who kill civilians for fun.

The star of Caliphate was a young man using the pseudonym Abu Huzayfah al-Kanadi (“the Canadian” in Arabic). Abu Huzayfah concocted an elaborate tale, claiming to the Times that he traveled to Syria in 2014 to join ISIS, where he claimed to have killed people in public executions. Then Huzayfah said he went to Turkey and Pakistan before returning to Canada.

Abu Huzayfah created prominent social media platforms where he spread pro-ISIS propaganda and sought to recruit new Salafi-jihadist extremists.

There was just one problem: the wildly popular podcast was based on a hoax.

Here's Why Apple Watch Series 6 Blood Oxygen Tracking Didn’t Need FDA Approval

Apple previously had to work hard at getting the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) approval so that it can equip the Apple Watch with ECG features. The FDA approval meant that the feature, first introduced in the Apple Watch Series 4, can be used for medical purposes so that it can help users get a better picture of their health. The approval also means the feature can help medical professionals take better care of their patients.

Apple, however, didn't have to go through the same process of acquiring the FDA approval before being able to equip the new Apple Watch Series 6 with the much-hyped Blood Oxygen monitoring feature.

Why didn't the company need the FDA's approval?

It's simply because the Blood Oxygen monitoring feature found in the Apple Watch isn't designed for medical uses. Apple said it's simply meant to be used for “wellness purposes.”

Wait – What?

Before Apple was able to equip the Apple Watch Series 4 models with the helpful electrocardiogram (ECG) feature, it had to acquire approval from the FDA in order to use it. This included submitting documentation proving that the ECG feature on the Apple Watch works just as well as other ECG devices in the market.

It, however, didn't have to go through the same process with the SpO2 monitor. The Verge reported that by saying the feature is meant for “general wellness” uses and Apple didn't need to get the FDA's approval anymore. This workaround, the report stated, allows the Cupertino tech giant to sell the device with the feature, as long as it doesn't market it as being used for “medical” uses.

Matt Grennan, assistant professor of health care management in the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, told The Verge that the FDA doesn't regulate certain products, adding that it'd be difficult for the FDA to regulate all digital health products released in the market.

“If you’re just providing information, they’re not regulating that,” Grennan said.

Apple's decision to skip FDA approval and call the Apple Watch's SpO2 monitoring feature as something that's “not intended for medical use,” however, could prove dangerous – especially to those who can't tell the difference between a feature used for wellness and another that's used for medical purposes.

Morgan Stanley Makes Second Major Purchase Of 2020, Acquiring Eaton Vance

Morgan Stanley (MS) said on Thursday that it entered into a definitive agreement to acquire asset manager Eaton Vance Corp. (EV) in a deal valued at $7 billion.

Morgan Stanley has just completed a $13 billion takeover of discount broker E-Trade Financial Corp.

Under the terms of the latest agreement, Eaton Vance stockholders will receive $28.25 per share in cash and 0.5833 of a share of Morgan Stanley common stock, representing a total consideration of about $56.50 per share. Morgan Stanley will pay half of the consideration in cash, the other half in stock.

The $56.50 figure represented a 38% premium over Eaton Vance shares’ closing price as of Wednesday. However, Eaton Vance stockholders can elect to receive all cash or all stock.

In addition, Eaton Vance common shareholders will also receive a one-time special cash dividend of $4.25 per share to be paid by Eaton Vance pre-closing.

The transaction is expected to be “breakeven” to earnings per share immediately and “marginally accretive” thereafter, Morgan Stanley said. Subject to customary closing conditions, the merger is expected to close in the second quarter of 2021.

At closing, Morgan Stanley’s subsidiary, Morgan Stanley Investment Management, or MSIM, will have about $1.2 trillion of assets under management and more than $5 billion of combined revenues.

The company noted that MSIM and Eaton Vance are “highly complementary with limited overlap in investment and distribution capabilities.”

“Eaton Vance is a perfect fit for Morgan Stanley,” said James P. Gorman, chairman and chief executive officer of Morgan Stanley. “This transaction further advances our strategic transformation. …”

The deal with Eaton Vance continues Morgan Stanley’s “shift away from trading toward steadier, simpler businesses like money management,” The Wall Street Journal reported.

Pelosi Signals No Relief for Airlines, Stimulus Payments Without Larger Deal

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) rejected President Donald Trump’s calls to pass standalone stimulus measures, including funding for airlines and direct stimulus payments to Americans.

“I have been very open to having a single standalone bill for the airlines or part of a bigger bill,” she told reporters at a news conference.

But, Pelosi stipulated, “There is no standalone bill without a bigger bill,” adding that the relief measure should help states, children, schools, and more.

A standalone bill to provide relief to airlines will not move “if we don’t have a guarantee that we’re going to be helping our state and local employees, that we’re not going to be able to crush the virus, that we’re not going to be able to have our children go to school safely, that we’re not going to have safety in the workplace, that we’re not going to address unemployment,” she continued.

It came after some Democratic lawmakers urged urgent action to provide funding to airlines with tens of thousands of American Airlines and United Airlines jobs being furloughed. The companies have been particularly hard-hit during the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus pandemic, as people have opted not to travel to prevent the risk of contracting the illness.

Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Peter DeFazio (D-Ore.) earlier this week tried to pass an airline funding provision by unanimous agreement but was ultimately blocked.

But on Thursday, Pelosi told reporters that those negotiations were on hold until President Trump was willing to come back to the table on a several-trillion dollar pandemic relief package.

“Let’s take a serious—not a skinny, not an emaciated but a serious appropriate approach—to crushing the virus,” Pelosi told reporters.

Just two days ago, I wrote an article titled "Remember How The FBI Conveniently Arrested A 'Trump Superfan' For 'Sending Mail Bombs' Right Before The Midterms?" where I went over how suspicious that case was and asked, "What are the odds we'll see a similar event right before the November election?"

Today, the FBI announced they allegedly busted a plot by a "Michigan militia" (loaded with undercover agents and government informants) to kidnap Gov. Gretchen Whitmer because of her aggressive lockdown measures.

According to reports, it appears the FBI has been sitting on the case for months just waiting for the perfect time to drop it for maximum political impact.

Michigan militia members are accused of plotting to kidnap Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and potentially kill other state officials in an effort to overturn the government, according to a criminal affidavit filed in federal court by the FBI.

“In early 2020, the FBI became aware through social media that a group of individuals were discussing the violent overthrow of certain government and law-enforcement components,” says the Oct. 6 filing in the U.S. District Court Western District of Michigan.

According to the court record, 15 militia members from “several states,” including two from Michigan, met in Dublin, Ohio on June 6 to discuss taking “violent action against multiple state governments that they believe are violating the U.S. Constitution.

" … Several members talked about murdering ‘tyrants’ or ‘taking’ a sitting governor. The group decided they needed to increase their numbers and encouraged each other to talk to their neighbors and spread their message."

Five Michigan men and another man from Delaware were were eventually charged with conspiracy to commit kidnapping.

Following the Ohio meeting, one of the Michigan suspects contacted leaders of a Michigan-based militia for assistance with the plan, the court filing said.

The FBI already had an undercover informant from within the militia that was developed after law enforcement learned of the group’s earlier plans to “target and kill police officers.”

Texas Supreme Court Rules Harris County Can't Send Ballot Applications to All Voters

Harris County, the largest county in Texas, will not be able to send every registered voter in the county a ballot application for a mail-in ballot, according to the Supreme Court of Texas.

Harris County Clerk Chris Hollins wanted to mail the ballot applications because the pandemic might prevent people from leaving their homes. But the justices said that Hollins had overstepped his authority in ordering the mailed ballot applications.

The Hill:

“We conclude that the Election Code does not authorize the mailing proposed by the Harris County Clerk,” the court wrote in an opinion obtained by the Tribune.

The state Supreme Court sent the case back to a lower court in the county to place an injunction on Hollins, preventing him from sending out the applications.

The lower courts, with Democratic judges, sided with Hollins before the case went to the state Supreme Court.

The county had already mailed ballot applications to those 65 and older and to those who requested them. But Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton challenged the decision, saying that it would unnecessarily confuse people who are not eligible to vote absentee in Texas.

Democrats were none too pleased with the court’s decision.

Texas Democratic Party Chair Gilberto Hinojosa responded to the Supreme Court decision by accusing the Republican justices of deciding “against the interests of voters and a functioning democracy.”

“The Republican Texas Supreme Court, along with the Governor and other Republicans, continues to micromanage the lives of local Texans,” he said in a statement. “Republicans will bend the ‘law’ any which way to serve their purpose: maintain power for Republicans no longer supported by a majority of the state.”

“We’re not only in a fight to save our state, but our entire democracy,” Hinijosa said. Well, if democracy is at stake, Texans know whom to vote for.

For his part, Hollins wasn’t quite so hysterical about the decision but doesn’t seem to understand that for 150 plus years, Texans have figured out how to vote without the help of bureaucrats who think they’re too stupid to participate in a democracy.

“It is disappointing that the Court has sided with political forces seeking to limit voter access this November,” Hollins said in a statement Wednesday. “Placing limitations on non-partisan outreach that educates citizens about their Constitutional right to vote should not be acceptable in a democracy.”

Hollins argued that democracy requires him to ensure that “every registered voter has accurate, timely information about their voting options” especially amid the coronavirus pandemic when vote by mail is “the safest way” for Texans.

How does not sending out a ballot application “limit voter access’? Political hyperbole is one thing. But this is nuts. The next thing Hollins is going to try is sending out ballots already marked that voters will be able to drop off at Democratic Party headquarters.

There has to come a point where you trust the people to vote if they want to. Inundating them with missives telling them to vote, ordering them to vote, shaming them into voting is not the job of government officials.
