Democrats Outpace Republicans In Early Voting

Over 6 million Americans across 27 states have already cast their vote for November's general election -more than 10 times the number who had voted at this time in 2016, according to the Untied States Elections Project, which compiles early voting data.

Of those, over two million ballots have been sent through the mail, with registered Democrats returning 1.4 million ballots vs. 653,000 from registered Republicans, according to University of Florida political scientist, Michael McDonald.

"We’ve never seen this many people voting so far ahead of an election," McDonald said earlier this week, according to Reuters. "People cast their ballots when they make up their minds, and we know that many people made up their minds long ago and already have a judgment about Trump."

The early surge has led McDonald to predict a record turnout of about 150 million, representing 65% of eligible voters, the highest rate since 1908.

McDonald said early voting typically starts strong, then drops before surging just ahead of the election. But in some states, rates of participation already have skyrocketed a month out. -Reuters

Overall, around 3.7 million of those who have already voted (around two-thirds) live in states which do not register voters by party, or are unaffiliated with either party. But according to demographic modeling by Democratic firm TargetSmart, 3 million votes have come from Democrats, while 2.1 have come from Republicans, according to The Hill.

That said (and it's a big one), early vote tallies aren't a solid indicator of who will win, as Hillary Clinton was trouncing Trump in early voting four years ago - though this year, early leads by Democrats are more substantial than in 2016.

In Florida, registered Democrats had out-voted registered Republicans by a slim 37 percent to 35 percent margin by this point in 2016. Today, almost 53 percent of votes cast in Florida have come from registered Democrats, while Republicans account for just 28 percent.

In North Carolina, registered Democrats have cast 52 percent of all ballots so far, up from 36 percent four years ago. Registered Republicans account for just 17 percent of the ballots, down from 37 percent in 2016.

And in Pennsylvania, a state at the heart of Trump’s reelection strategy, registered Democrats have cast more than three-quarters of all ballots. Republicans made up just 15 percent of ballots returned to date. -The Hill

"The fact that you have such a massive Democratic head start, that to me makes it much more difficult for the Trump campaign to play catchup," said Louisiana pollster, John Couvillon.

"The Democrats are so far, by and large, turning out people to vote absentee that would have likely either voted on Election Day or voted early in person," according to analytics exert Mark Stephenson of Red Oak Strategic.

Trump Legal Adviser Jenna Ellis STOMPS ON Pelosi’s Latest Coup Attempt! — Dems Need VP to Sign on to Their 25th Amendment Scam – SORRY NANCY!

Democrats are sooo desperate. They are just being ridiculous at this point!

On Friday Democrat Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced an investigation into President Donald Trump’s mental and physical health on Friday — less than 4 weeks until the presidential election.

This is the Democrat Party’s latest attempted at a coup of President Trump.

They STILL have not accepted the results of the 2016 election.

Nancy Pelosi: This is not about Pres. Trump. He will face the judgment of the voters. But he shows the need to create a process for future presidents… a president’s fitness for office must be determined by science and facts’

It’s just too bad Nancy Pelosi didn’t read the US Constitution before her publicity stunt today!

If Pelosi would have read the US Constitution she would know that the Vice President has to sign off on their coup plot.

Sorry Nancy! Your coup is OVER!

Trump Campaign Senior Legal Adviser and Constitutional Attorney Jenna Ellis broke the bad news to Nancy after her stunt.

Just 59 Americans Have More Wealth Than Half the Country’s Population

Via: New York Post:

The 59 Americans whose fortunes have ballooned amid the coronavirus pandemic now have more wealth than half the nation’s population, new data show.

The poorest 50 percent of Americans, or roughly 165 million people, collectively owned about $2.08 trillion in wealth in the second quarter of 2020, according to Federal Reserve data released last week.

That’s less than the net worth of the nation’s 59 richest billionaires, who have a combined fortune of about $2.09 trillion, Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index shows — a number that’s grown this year despite the COVID-19 crisis kneecapping the global economy.

Mike Pompeo Says He Has Hillary Clinton’s Deleted Emails and Will Begin Releasing Them Before Election Day

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Friday dropped a little October surprise said his department has Hillary Clinton’s ‘deleted’ emails and will release them before the election.

“We’re getting them out,” Pompeo told Fox News Dana Perino.

“We’ll get all of this information out so the American people can see them,” Pompeo said. “There will be more to see before the election.”

“You will remember there was classified information on a private server. It should never have been there. Hillary Clinton should never have done that. It is unacceptable behavior.”

Earlier this week Trump lashed out at Mike Pompeo for withholding the release of Hillary Clinton’s emails.

“He’s running the State Department,” Trump said earlier this week on “Fox and Friends.”

“Forget about the fact they were classified. Let’s Go. Maybe Mike Pompeo finally finds them, okay.”

President Trump on Friday said Hillary Clinton belongs in jail during his rally on Rush Limbaugh’s radio show.

Recall, it was Judicial Watch in 2015 that blew the story wide open about Hillary Clinton’s use of a private server while she was the head of the Department of State.

Hillary Clinton famously shrugged her shoulders when a reporter asked her about “wiping her server” — “You mean with a cloth?” she said snarkily.

Hillary Clinton has repeatedly stated her BleachBit emails were personal in nature and only pertained to her daughter Chelsea’s wedding and yoga.

'Worried' Cruz Warns GOP Could Face 'a Bloodbath of Watergate Proportions' on Election Day

Senator Ted Cruz is warning Republicans that the election climate is “volatile,” but Donald Trump could still win the election by a large margin if voters are optimistic about the economy.

But the senator also warned his party that if voters are angry and have given up hope, the GOP could suffer a defeat as bad as the 1974 Watergate election.

The Hill:

“I am worried. It’s volatile, it’s highly volatile … if people are going back to work, if they’re optimistic, if they’re positive about the future, we could see a fantastic election — the president getting reelected with a big margin, Republicans winning both Houses of Congress and I think that’s a real possibility,” Cruz said.

“But I also think if on Election Day people are angry and they’ve given up hope and they’re depressed, which is what [Speaker Nancy] Pelosi and [Senate Minority Leader Charles] Schumer want them to be, I think it could be a terrible election. I think we could lose the White House and both houses of Congress, that it could be a bloodbath of Watergate proportions.”

The outcome in November is likely to fall somewhere in between those two extremes. The 1974 election gave Democrats a net gain of 4 in the Senate and a whopping 49 new Democratic congressmen in the House. Along with retirements, there were 76 new Democrats in the House — many of them McGovernites — who proceeded to revolutionize the country.

Cruz is looking at the same state polls as the rest of us and is worried. The trends do not bode well for Republicans. And if a lot of close elections go the Democrats’ way — as happened in 2018 — it could be very bad.

One difference between 1974 and 2020 is that there are likely to be tens of millions of mail-in ballots — most of which won’t be counted for days or weeks after November 3. The legal war that is going to break out will not be pretty and could very well lead to confrontations in the streets.

All Trump can do is keep his head down and keep moving.

Meanwhile, it would help if he got a boost along the way to re-establish momentum. Many Republicans in the Senate believe another stimulus bill would provide that boost.

CNBC:

Cruz said he’d spoken with Trump on Thursday and that the president wants to make a deal. That day, White House communications director Alyssa Farah told reporters the administration wanted to address a variety of stimulus strategies but not as “part of a larger package.” Farah later told reporters “we’re open to going with something bigger,” but “we’re not going to operate from the $2.2 trillion that the speaker laid out.”

A spokesperson for Schumer, D-N.Y., declined to comment. A representative for Pelosi, D-Calif., did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for comment.

The Wall Street Journal reports that the White House is now preparing a $1.8 trillion plan that includes many elements both parties support, including individual $1200 checks to taxpayers, extended unemployment benefits, and an airline bailout.

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin is expected to discuss the new proposal with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) when the two speak Friday, the latest in a series of start-and-stop negotiations.

The White House proposal increases their previous offer by about $200 billion, but a significant distance remains between the administration and Democratic leaders on the bill’s overall price tag. Democrats last week passed a $2.2 trillion aid package, a scaled-back version of their earlier $3.5 trillion legislation. Mr. Mnuchin had previously proposed a $1.6 trillion offer.

The two sides have also disagreed on the contents of the bill, notably the amount of aid for state and local governments.

Cruz may be trying to get the attention of reluctant GOP senators who aren’t enthused about spending another couple of trillion dollars to climb out of the stimulus hole the economy is in. But Cruz and others see a stimulus bill as vital to the party’s chances in November.

Presidential Debate Commission Ideology Exposed – Chairman Connected to Soros, Color Revolution and Steele Dossier Group…

Put this in the ‘things that make other things make sense‘ file, and give full credit to Revolver News for the research and citation assembly.

You might have seen Presidential Debate Commission Co-Founder Frank Fahrenkopf on Fox News last night trying desperately to explain and justify why the presidential debates were randomly modified to be a virtual format.

However, a terrific deep investigative dive into the background of Fahrenkopf and the people who make up the debate commission reveals a scale and scope of ideology that is almost jaw-dropping in sunlight; and that research completely explains how and why this group has supported far leftist candidates for decades.

“The nominally Republican Chairman of Presidential Debate Commission, Frank Fahrenkopf, is both a co-founder and current board member of the International Republican Institute (IRI), a top “Color Revolution” propaganda outfit. The IRI was run by Never Trump neoconservative John McCain for decades. It is closely linked to the thoroughly discredited Steele Dossier at the center of the Russia Hoax.”

At first glance, it might appear as though Fahrenkopf’s Republican Party membership, combined with his board membership at the International Republican Institute, lends him, and by extension the Debate Commission, some semblance of balance.

The Debate Commission’s board has a Republican Co-Chair and a Democrat co-Chair, creating the appearance of fairness and bipartisanship. Nothing could be further from the truth. Bipartisanship in the Trump era all too often means that the corrupt establishment elements of both parties join arms to undermine Trump and his agenda. A Debate Commission consisting of John McCain and Hillary Clinton would be technically bipartisan, but it would not be balanced when it comes to Trump and his supporters. Globalist Republicans and globalist Democrats have far more in common with each other than they do with Trump.

Our choice of John McCain in this example was not arbitrary. As it turns out, the late Senator John McCain served as the Chairman of the Board of the International Republican Institute for 25 years.

Just months before he died, John McCain took to Twitter to scold the Trump Administration for allegedly defunding the organization.

COVID-19: How 3 Prior Pandemics Triggered Massive Societal Shifts

Before March of this year, few probably thought disease could be a significant driver of human history.

Not so anymore. People are beginning to understand that the little changes Covid-19 has already ushered in or accelerated – telemedicine, remote work, social distancing, the death of the handshake, online shopping, the virtual disappearance of cash and so on – have begun to change their way of life. They may not be sure whether these changes will outlive the pandemic. And they may be uncertain whether these changes are for good or ill.

Three previous plagues could yield some clues about the way Covid-19 might bend the arc of history. As I teach in my course “Plagues, Pandemics and Politics,” pandemics tend to shape human affairs in three ways.

First, they can profoundly alter a society’s fundamental worldview. Second, they can upend core economic structures. And, finally, they can sway power struggles among nations.

Sickness Spurs Rise of Christian West

The Antonine plague, and its twin, the Cyprian plague – both now widely thought to have been caused by a smallpox strain – ravaged the Roman Empire from A.D. 165 to 262. It’s been estimated that the combined pandemics’ mortality rate was anywhere from one-quarter to one-third of the empire’s population.

While staggering, the number of deaths tells only part of the story. This also triggered a profound transformation in the religious culture of the Roman Empire.

On the eve of the Antonine plague, the empire was pagan. The vast majority of the population worshipped multiple gods and spirits and believed that rivers, trees, fields and buildings each had their own spirit.

Christianity, a monotheistic religion that had little in common with paganism, had only 40,000 adherents, no more than 0.07 percent of the empire’s population.

Yet within a generation of the end of the Cyprian plague, Christianity had become the dominant religion in the empire.

How did these twin pandemics effect this profound religious transformation?

Rodney Stark, in his seminal work The Rise of Christianity, argues that these two pandemics made Christianity a much more attractive belief system.

While the disease was effectively incurable, rudimentary palliative care – the provision of food and water, for example – could spur recovery of those too weak to care for themselves. Motivated by Christian charity and an ethic of care for the sick – and enabled by the thick social and charitable networks around which the early church was organized – the empire’s Christian communities were willing and able to provide this sort of care.

Pagan Romans, on the other hand, opted instead either to flee outbreaks of the plague or to self-isolate in the hope of being spared infection.

This had two effects.

First, Christians survived the ravages of these plagues at higher rates than their pagan neighbors and developed higher levels of immunity more quickly. Seeing that many more of their Christian compatriots were surviving the plague – and attributing this either to divine favor or the benefits of the care being provided by Christians – many pagans were drawn to the Christian community and the belief system that underpinned it. At the same time, tending to sick pagans afforded Christians unprecedented opportunities to evangelize.

Second, Stark argues that, because these two plagues disproportionately affected young and pregnant women, the lower mortality rate among Christians translated into a higher birth rate.

The net effect of all this was that, in roughly the span of a century, an essentially pagan empire found itself well on its way to becoming a majority Christian one.
