One big request to anyone with the actual authority and willingness to act: why can't someone fix customer service at Social Security? I wish it would work half as well as the VA does now.

No one likes being put on hold for 30+ minutes only to have the call dropped without so much as a reacharound. And the only reason for the call was a result of a mistake made by Social Security itself wherein a payment was totally missed.

Yeah, I'm glad I can absorb this. I wonder about all those other folk on hold, ignored, call dropped, who can't absorb this kind of error.
