It could be the same shot. But if so, they cropped off the top of shooters head in first image.

Agreed, I thought it looked like the bullet was still in the shell too, but the image isn't high enough in quality to tell.
I only heard one shot, perhaps there were two?
It's possible the bullet is already penetrating his skull in the photo too.
