So we have two casings in the same shot. One look like like a casing should (one in the air) and one looks a little too long.
This fits with mt theory about load a blank as the first round. I've never heard of anyone doing that. I wouldn't think it would be work to reliably cycle the action.

The first round being a blank the him really being killed by the second shot are not mutually exclusive. Although it's necessary to explain how a blank can cycle a gun with a regular strength spring and do it reliably enough for something you'd trust your life to.

Then you'd expect the whole length of the high-brightness area to be similarly smeared. But it seems to show a taper.
And the rim appears to be visible. This was a very fast shutter speed.

If you watch the video you'll that there wasn't enough time between when he walked away from the first confrontation to when we hear the shot for him to do much but pick a random person to start a fight with. I think he got was he had coming, as unpopular was that may be around here.

I thought of that. Listened to the video for sound of the slide racking. Didn't hear anything.

That's logical. But he has to be pretty quick to get his off-hand back to a proper thumb-forward grip before the round comes back down comes back down. He would had to have ejected the round straight up unto the air. And what are the odds that pic would be taken just as it passes through the area when empty cases are ejected sideways?
