The New Age is a cultish ideology distilled from "Theosophy." Theosophy was created in the late 1800s by Alice Bailey channeling an "Ascended Master." Most of the people in it mean well. But they do not use logic to critically examine their beliefs. In fact, the whole system is based heavily on discouraging critical thinking.
