The basic problem is that if POTUS has the rats cornered, then they are rapidly approaching the point where they will have nothing to lose.

If they are willing to cripple the world economy and lock down the Western world for 9 months over power and the presidential election, what will they do to protect their own lives?

That will not be a pretty chain of events.
