this actually brings up a topic in my mind.

i am wondering if we get another population boom, how will we feed everyone?

Even if we keep the population relatively static, there will be bad years ahead for food production, and both the rich and the poor nations will be forced to make hard decisions (albeit at different levels).

I hate the current corporate-techno-culture as it is, and maybe we should get back to our agrarian roots.

If people have to provide for themselves more, or they don't eat, we get more responsible people.

people that are responsible for themselves rarely cause problems for others in their community.

we wouldn't even need to get away from all of the current tech, and could use it to our advantage.

Does more farmers as a percentage of population equal better society?

i'm aware of the regulations, and that the government pays to not raise pigs, etc.

I'm also aware that at least in America, we have beyond super vast quantities of land that are suitable for but unused for food production.

I was more meaning if population doubles again and againโ€ฆ what is the tipping point of the earth's bounty?

ah well, this has been an interesting exercise. thanks.
