IRS colluded with Clinton Foundation to cheat taxpayers out of $2.5 billion

An interesting development has emerged concerning the Clinton family crime syndicate that suggests the highly corrupt Clinton Foundation colluded with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to cheat the tax system out of $2.5 billion.

As revealed on the Thomas Paine Podcast – listen here – a federal judge has pegged the IRS for illicit conduct in sheltering the Clinton Foundation from having to pay as much as $2.5 billion in unpaid federal back taxes.

In what the podcast describes as “a rare overture,” the judge in the case has sided with pro-se litigants and Clinton whistleblowers John Moynihan and Larry Doyle, allowing their case against the Clinton Foundation to proceed. Meanwhile, the IRS has been smacked down in its efforts to cover both for itself and for the Clintons.

Besides smacking down the IRS “big time,” the judge in the case also uncovered “damning and alarming documents and facts in the case” that “until now ha[ve] been sealed and kept secret from the public.” These documents and facts apparently reveal that both the Department of Justice (DoJ) and the IRS worked on behalf of the Clintons, rather than the American people, committing many other egregious crimes along the way.

Just like how the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) was caught covering for pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and other Clinton associates, the IRS and the DoJ have now been exposed as criminal organizations that exist not to serve We the People, but rather to make dirty politicians like the Clintons rich.

Nothing about the Clinton Foundation’s financials makes any legitimate sense

Federal Judge Allows Clinton Foundation Whistleblower Complaint To Proceed, Rules IRS 'Abused Its Discretion'

A US tax court judge is allowing a whistleblower complaint to proceed against the Clinton Foundation after finding that the IRS "abused its discretion" when it attempted to dismiss allegations of wrongdoing by the nonprofit, according to Just The News.

Judge David Gustafson found that whistleblower John Moynihan - a former Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) official, and Larry Doyle, a corporate tax compliance expert "provided 'specific credible documentation' supporting their allegations" of potential legal violations by the Arkansas-based charity.

Is Rape in the Military Punishable by Death? U.S. Supreme Court Considers Question

In May 2005, after a night spent drinking at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho, Air Force Capt. Michael Briggs went to the room of a junior service member and forced her to "have sex with him, even though she said 'no' and 'stop' and tried to roll away," according to court documents.

The airman did not formally report the sexual assault at the time, but decided eight years later that she would and contacted Air Force investigators. She was able to obtain a confession from Briggs, then a lieutenant colonel. In 2014, Briggs was court-martialed for rape, sentenced to five months in jail and dismissed from the Air Force after 18 years.

At the time of Briggs’ conviction, there was no statute of limitations for prosecuting military rape cases – Congress eliminated it in 2006.

At the time of the crime, however there was a five-year statute of limitations for prosecuting military rape cases. That discrepancy is one of two issues facing the U.S. Supreme Court as it considers U.S. v. Briggs, the name given a group of three cases involving the rape convictions of three male U.S. service members for crimes that occurred between 1986 and 2006, when the supposed statute of limitations existed.

The other issue the justices may consider is whether Article 120 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, which states that rape is a crime punishable by death, conflicts with the 8th Amendment, which bars "cruel or unusual punishment;" provisions within the UCMJ itself that bar cruel and unusual punishment; and a 1977 Supreme Court ruling that declared the death penalty as "grossly disproportionate" punishment for rape.

In oral arguments before the U.S. Supreme Court Tuesday, Acting Solicitor General of the United States Jeffrey Wall charged that military rape is punishable by death, a condition that would invalidate any statute of limitations for prosecuting a crime. He also argued that Congress intended no statute of limitations in such cases, and that the 2006 law made that clear.

"It's critical to be able to go after [sexual assaults] outside of what would otherwise be a five-year window," Wall argued. "In order to make progress on rape and sexual assault in the military it's hard to get women to report they need to be able to prosecute these crimes and continue to get the numbers to go down. And the numbers have been going down, but part of that is because until very recently, they didn't face a statute of limitation."

Wells also said the 1977 ruling, eliminating the death penalty for rape cases in the U.S., should not apply to the U.S. military, given the military's need to maintain order and discipline and operate in a national security environment.

"All crimes in some sense can undermine unit cohesion and military discipline," Wells argued, but rape "is especially different … because it divides up platoons and units in a way that other crimes do not."

Pentagon Drafting Plans to Withdraw US Troops From Somalia - Reports

According to insider reports, US President Donald Trump has ordered the Pentagon and his senior national security advisers to begin drafting plans for a total withdrawal of US forces from Somalia. The US has between 650 and 800 troops in the war-torn East African nation, where it has waged an undeclared war since 2007.

“People familiar with the matter” told Bloomberg on Tuesday that the Pentagon had begun drafting plans to pull all US troops out of Somalia.

After a disastrous intervention in the Somali Civil War in 1992, the US withdrew some 25,000 troops from Somalia. While a small number of special forces and counterterrorism advisers remained, the air war opened up by US Africa Command (AFRICOM) against al-Qaeda affiliate al-Shabaab in 2007 did not involve ground forces until relatively recently.

In March 2017, Trump declared Somalia an “area of active hostilities,” signaling an increase in tempo that soon saw more than 600 US troops dispatched to the area. Now, however, it seems Trump may be considering bringing them home, just his latest attempt to deliver on a 2016 campaign promise to end the “era of endless wars” before he stands for reelection in November.

According to the Bloomberg report, US national security adviser Robert O’Brien, Defense Secretary Mark Esper and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Mark Milley have all been part of the talks.

Trump and his advisers being on the same page is not always something that can be taken for granted, as the recent disparate estimates about the US’ withdrawal from Afghanistan have shown.

Last Wednesday, O’Brien said the US would have just 2,500 troops in the Central Asian nation by early 2021, with the goal of bringing all US troops home by May 2021. However, just hours later, Trump tweeted that in fact, all US troops would come home from Afghanistan by Christmas 2020.

Future for Drone War Unclear

Even if all US troops leave Somalia, that does not mean an end to the undeclared drone war the US has waged against al-Shabaab since 2007. The unmanned aerial vehicles and the spy planes that spot targets for them and monitor the aftermath of a strike fly from neighboring countries like Kenya.

This air war has suffered contradictory trends of both increasing and decreasing scrutiny: even as the Trump administration revises its standards to effectively ignore the possibility of civilian casualties resulting from the strikes, increased pressure from nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) like Amnesty International has forced the Pentagon to admit that innocent people do get killed in these strikes and to present quarterly reports reviewing them for possible civilian deaths.

DOJ sues former aide of First Lady Melania Trump over tell-all book

Feds say the author violated her confidentiality agreement

The U.S. Department of Justice has filed suit against Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, a former aide to First Lady Melania Trump, alleging that she violated their nondisclosure agreement by penning a tell-all book and publishing it without first allowing the federal government to sign off on the draft.

Reuters reported:

In a complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Washington, Justice Department lawyers said Winston Wolkoff, a former aide who fell out with the first lady, failed to submit to government review a draft of her book, "Melania and Me: The Rise and Fall of My Friendship with the First Lady," which offers an unflattering portrayal of President Donald Trump's wife.

According to the lawsuit, Winston Wolkoff signed a Gratuitous Services Agreement "wherein Ms. Wolkoff promised to maintain strict confidentiality over 'nonpublic, privileged and/or confidential information' that she might obtain during her service" as an adviser to the first lady.

Politico reported that the DOJ is asking a federal judge to "divert all proceeds from the sale of Wolkoff's book, 'Melania and Me,' to the federal government, a consequence of her alleged 'breach of contract.'"

Ms. Wolkoff argues that she has every right to talk about her experiences as a matter of free speech, telling NBC News of her book, "It's my story. It's my life. I've been gagged for too long."

"The White House, President Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, the Trump administration have been the source of false, misleading and defamatory information about me," she continued. "I am defending myself against the defamatory falsehoods according to my constitutional rights to defend my reputation and set the record straight."

Anything else?

The case is reminiscent of when the DOJ sued former national security adviser John Bolton over the summer in an attempt to stop him from publishing his own book divulging his experiences in the Trump administration. In the lawsuit, the federal government argued that Bolton's book, "The Room Where It Happened: A White House Memoir," would jeopardize national security.

Unlike Wolkoff, Bolton did submit a draft of his book for review by the federal government, but copies were distributed to retailers by Bolton's publisher prior to receiving the all-clear from authorities.

U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth agreed to allow Bolton's book to be published, saying that "the horse, as we used to say in Texas, seems to be out of the barn."

Peters Silent on UAW Corruption Arrests

Union is one of Michigan Dem's largest donors

Sen. Gary Peters (D., Mich.) has remained silent on whether he will return the thousands of dollars in donations that he received from the United Auto Workers after federal authorities arrested the union's top leaders for corruption.

UAW's PAC has donated more than $105,000 to Peters's joint-fundraising committee. The committee in turn funneled $71,200 to Peters's campaign and $278,800 to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, according to financial disclosures filed with the Federal Election Commission. The PAC's donation made up roughly one-in-four dollars raised by the joint-fundraising committee, making the union by far the largest donor to the entity.

Peters's campaign did not respond to a Washington Free Beacon inquiry about whether the senator will return the funds in light of recent revelations about widespread corruption within the union, which has so far led to guilty pleas from at least 11 union officials, including Gary Jones, the union's former president.

Peters has a long history of working closely with UAW leaders, many of whom are now going to jail for embezzling union funds, conspiracy, and other acts of corruption. Former UAW president Dennis Williams, who served in that position from 2014 to 2018, endorsed Peters during his first Senate run in 2014 and personally appeared in a rally to support his candidacy. Since then, a wide-ranging FBI probe found that Williams used union funds to pay for his personal expenses, including boxes of cigars and high-end alcohol. Peters's campaign continued to accept tens of thousands of dollars in donations from union coffers even after the FBI went public with corruption indictments against senior labor officials beginning in 2019.

Peters is in a hotly contested Senate race against Republican challenger John James. James, previously considered a long-shot candidate by election observers, has narrowed the gap with the incumbent in the last few months of the race, trailing Peters by only one point in the latest polling. The six-figure donations from the union are helping Peters edge out a slight fundraising advantage over his rival. The Michigan senator has raised nearly $22 million to James's $20 million.

Gladys Berejiklian’s lover Daryl Maguire urged her to meet with criminals as China security fears emerge

Damning new revelations have emerged about embattled Premier Gladys Berejiklian, including Chinese security fears and a meeting with criminals.

More damning revelations have emerged about embattled NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian, including a controversial meeting her then-lover Daryl Maguire urged her to take.

A newspaper report today also claims senior Liberals are worried that her secret five-year relationship with the disgraced former MP, now at the centre of a corruption scandal, made her a target for Chinese intelligence agencies.

Ms Berejiklian’s horror week continues to go from bad to worse, with Mr Maguire to front a hearing of the Independent Commission Against Corruption today.

The Premier is likely to face a fresh grilling today from reporters and the state Labor opposition about an incident that previously landed her in hot water but which has taken on new significance.

In October 2017, Mr Maguire convinced the Premier to meet with two publicans with criminal histories after her own Gaming and Racing Ministers refused to.

One of those Ministers, Troy Grant, told The Sydney Morning Herald on Tuesday it was “correct I declined Maguire’s repeated and very insistent requests for me to meet with them”.

Ms Berejiklian had been travelling with Mr Maguire on a trip to his electorate when the MP arranged the meeting with three publicans to discuss “gaming issues”.

While not public knowledge at that point, the couple had by then been in a relationship for two-and-a-half years.

Michigan governor kidnapping plot suspects also considered abducting Virginia governor, FBI agent tells bail hearing

Some of the men accused of trying to abduct Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer also weighed up kidnapping the governor of Virginia and fellow Democrat, Ralph Northam, an FBI agent has said.

During their meeting in Dublin, Ohio in June, the alleged plotters “discussed possible targets, taking a sitting governor, specifically issues with the governor of Michigan and Virginia based on the lockdown orders,” FBI Special Agent Richard Trask said in his testimony during a bail hearing for the suspects at a US District Court in Michigan.

The defendants in Tuesday's hearing were among the six facing federal kidnapping charges. They face life in prison if found guilty.

One of the accused men, Kaleb Franks, was deemed a "danger to the community" and denied bail.

The other seven out of the 13 suspects, arrested last week over plans to abduct Whitmer, will be tried in Michigan for their links to the Wolverine Watchmen militia group.

Trask also revealed that one of the group's members suggested going to Whitmer's house to “cap her.” The plan was to grab a pizza delivery man and seize his uniform in order to reach the governor without raising suspicion.

The agent's testimony was based on evidence from confidential informants as well as the group's encrypted communications.

One of the group’s defense lawyers argued on Tuesday that the plot was little more than “big talk” between “crackpots” and “military wannabes.” Pressed by defense lawyer Scott Graham, Trask was reportedly unable to flesh out key details of the alleged plot, such as how the men planned on moving Whitmer across state lines, and could not reveal how the plan had progressed beyond talk.

Dutch PM closes pubs, restaurants and cafes as coronavirus cases rise

Bars, restaurants and cafes in the Netherlands will close their doors as the Dutch government tries to control the spread of Covid-19. Unlike many of its European neighbors, the Netherlands has thus far avoided harsh lockdowns.

Prime Minister Mark Rutte announced the “partial lockdown” on Tuesday evening, after health officials in the Netherlands reported a record 7,393 new cases of Covid-19 that day. A total of 43,903 new infections were recorded in the preceding week, along with 150 deaths.

The new measures, which come into effect on Wednesday, will see all bars, restaurants and cafes close, and the sale of alcohol banned after 8pm. In addition, the wearing of face masks will be mandatory in all indoor spaces.

Rutte’s government has held off on some of the harsher lockdown measures imposed in other European countries since the pandemic began. Masks were only mandatory on public transport, and bars and hospitality venues operated as usual – albeit with some social distancing measures, and contact tracing forms given to customers.

These rules tightened somewhat late last month, with restaurants and bars in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague ordered to close by 10pm, and workers in these cities advised to do their jobs remotely if possible.

“It hurts, but it’s the only way,” Rutte said of the new restrictions on Tuesday. “We have to be stricter.”

The Netherlands has so far recorded nearly 190,000 cases of Covid-19, and more than 6,600 deaths, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

Italy’s Conte gets tough on Covid-19, banning parties and amateur sports, as cases surge

The Italian government has passed a decree curbing socializing both at homes and in public spaces, limiting the operations of bars, and sports and school activities as coronavirus infections soar across the country.

Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte’s decree was passed on Monday evening and published in the early hours of Tuesday morning. The new restrictions are an attempt to tackle soaring Covid-19 cases as Italy is seeing its daily number of infections returning to April levels.

The restrictions, effective from Wednesday, will remain in place for 30 days. The new rules stipulate that bars and restaurants can be open until midnight for table service, but cannot serve people standing up, inside or outside the premises, after 9:00pm. Large gatherings outside of bars and restaurants have been linked to the recent surge in cases.

Conte’s measures also ban parties in night clubs and restaurants, as well as in the open air, while strongly recommending that Italians refrain from holding parties in their homes. The decree advises the wearing of face masks in the house when non-family members are present and introduces a maximum gathering of six people, similar to the regulations covering much of the UK.

Italians will also experience a clamp down on contact sports that are not organized by established clubs recognized by official bodies, such as five-a-side football games between friends.

Conte’s new measures come just a day after World Health Organization chief Tedros Ghebreyesus slammed politicians favoring the herd immunity approach for dealing with Covid-19, declaring it “immoral” and “unethical.”
