I don’t believe that. I also don’t believe that of other developed nations. But distracted, actively misled, and uninformed people either fail to recognize the real problems or, as we’ve seen with public policy responses to covid, adopt suicidal measures. There are big problems, but they are solvable problems, if tackled by the right minds. Perversely, the right minds are assiduously kept on the outside!
