i thought about facebook and myspace the other day. used to, myspace allowed someone to be unique and show individuality. when facebook came along, it required actual first and last name, uses tracking cookies that couldn't be deleted, and homogenized social media so everyone had to be the same. now they control the flow of information and collect personal data, location, interests, etc. i remember the push for switching to facebook around 2009. what a coincidence with who became president in 09.
