People in positions of almost-power get complacent and think they're entitled.
Some years ago in the UK the performer Gary Glitter took his faulty laptop into PC World to get it fixed. The techies thought they'd have a laugh and see what was on there - even though rummaging through dirty underwear like that is against the law, or was at the time. The found child porn. Tons of it.
Same scenario as Hunter. Why would anyone in their right mind do this? Glitter obviously thought he was protected. Wrong!
