There were 17 Navy SEALS killed when Extortion 17 was shot down. 15 of them were from Gold Squadron, one of SEAL Team 6's Squadrons.There were other brave men aboard who were lost as well.

 

It is incorrect to state that ST6 was lost. A SEAL Team has multiple Squadrons.

 

The Bin Ladin raid was Red Squadron of ST6.

We are talking about multiple SEAL Squadrons. Red Squadron of ST6 was on the Bin Ladin mission. He is/was from Red Squadron of ST6.

 

15 members of Gold Squadron of ST6 were lost on Extortion 17.
