Another point to note is the opportunity cost that is gained by anyone inhabiting a new area. Children are essentially walking piles of money if looked at through the right (wrong) lens.
I've always wanted to work on the side of the good guys because my mind allows me to "go there" due to the abuses I went through as a child but I have no desire to harm others. Of course, going through certain traumas as a child makes a person unstable into adulthood which is counter to the requirement of a good law enforcement officer working in that field.
Oh well, life is short. Maybe I'll get it right next time.
