I noticed that and it was admirable.
The reality they have been taught it a simulated reality. When true reality becomes baseline reality their minds either change or fracture in an ugly way. Most wont give up on what they paid for and work hard at to learn. And most entertainment is in reinforcement of the simulated reality.
