Go through in your head what you use on a regular basis. Like TP, batteries, soap, everything. How will you heat your home in case of no electricity? How will you clean your body in case of no running water? How will you take care of your body waste in case of a defective sewage system? How will you run your essential electrical stuff in case of no electricity? How will you wash clothes?
Best case scenario none of this will be necessary, but are you willing to take the chance for your own family and yourself?
What are the downsides of being prepared? Is there any? Takes time and money gathering stuff and takes up space, yes, but in the future, if best case scenario is confirmed, you could have a six month (or more) vacation at home just spending time with your family without the need to have money coming in weekly. That is luxury.
You who are affected by lockdowns or closed businesses because of muh-corona: What if you had a year worth of preps in place before being locked-down this year? Would you have a problem now?
