Hunter Biden Business Associate Flips From Prison, Releases Emails Detailing China Influence-Peddling Operation

Emails from a former business associate of Hunter Biden's inner-circle who's serving time in prison for a 2016 investment scheme reveal that Hunter and his colleagues used their access to the Obama administration to peddle influence to potential Chinese clients and investors - including securing a private, off-the-books meeting with the former Vice President.

The emails, given to investigative journalist Peter Schweizer by former Biden associate Bevan Cooney and published by Breitbart also reveal that in 2011, the younger Biden and his business associates discussed strengthening relations with "China Inc." as part of a "new push on soft diplomacy for the Chinese."

As Breitbart notes, these emails are completely unconnected to the Hunter Biden emails released by the New York Post.

Cooney believes he was the "fall guy" for an investment scheme in which Hunter and business associate Devon Archer avoided responsibility. He reached out to Schweizer after the journalist published Secret Empires in 2018. Archer was initially spared jail and handed a second trial, however a federal appeals court reinstated Archer's fraud conviction in the case last week.

Cooney provided Schweizer with written authorization, his email account name, and password to his Gmail account to retrieve these emails. He authorized, in writing, the publication of these emails— notable because it is the first time a close associate has publicly confirmed Hunter’s trading on his father’s influence. -Breitbart

More revelations:

In a November 5, 2011 email, one of Archer's business contacts suggested helping to arrange White House meetings for a group of Chinese executives and government officials who would make "potentially outstanding new clients." The group, the China Entrepreneur Club (CEC) included CCP loyalists, Chinese billionaires and at least one "respected diplomat" from Beijing. According to the report, CEC - established in 2006, has been referred to as "a second foreign ministry" for China's communist regime. The gross income of CEC members is estimated to be equivalent to roughly 4% of China's GDP, according to the email.

"I know it is political season and people are hesitant but a group like this does not come along every day," said intermediary Mohamed A. Khashoggi on behalf of the CEC to a Biden / Archer associate. "A tour of the white house and a meeting with a member of the chief of staff’s office and John Kerry would be great," reads the email.

‘He Belongs In Prison’: Rudy Giuliani Says Alleged Hunter Biden Hard Drive Shows He Broke Foreign Agents Law

President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani told the Daily Caller that Hunter Biden, Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s son, broke a foreign agents law on several occasions after his analysis of documents from a hard drive he says belonged to Hunter Biden.

Giuliani claimed Hunter Biden broke the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) that mandates public disclosure of overseas political relationships when he allegedly met with foreign government figures behind closed doors.

Giuliani insisted that Hunter Biden’s alleged violations are similar to that of former Trump campaign head Paul Manafort, who was sentenced to over four years in prison in 2019.

Republican former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani told the Daily Caller in an exclusive interview that Hunter Biden, Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s son, violated a foreign agent law when he allegedly met with government brass behind closed doors.

Giuliani, President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer, sent the contents of a computer hard drive purportedly owned by Hunter Biden to the New York Post, which appeared to reveal ties between both Hunter and Joe Biden to a Ukrainian energy company.

The Daily Caller News Foundation has not confirmed the veracity of the emails or that the alleged hard drive belonged to Hunter Biden.

Giuliani also claimed the hard drive revealed multiple violations of the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), which according to Department of Justice mandates certain foreign agents periodically and publicly disclose their relationship and dealings with overseas figures.

“I’ll give you an example — confidential informant told me about a meeting he had at the State Department and he gave me a specific date,” Giuliani told the Caller’s senior White House correspondent Christian Datoc. “He told me he remembered it because Hunter Biden was taken in the back door so that [the meeting] wouldn’t be registered. He went to see Deputy Secretary of State Tony Blinken.”

“Well, that’s not registered anywhere except from this confidential informant telling me and another investigator this,” he continued. “That date squared exactly with the one in the hard drive and in the messages. There were about three more like that and there are two others that I’d rather not reveal.”

Giuliani insisted failure to register meetings of this caliber constitutes a violation of FARA. He also paralleled the case of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, who was sentenced to 47 months in prison for failing to disclose his own financial dealings with Ukraine in 2019, according to CNN.

“It was not recorded and should’ve been recorded because it’s a meeting that falls under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) of which there are probably six or seven blatant violations of it by Hunter Biden,” he told Datoc.

Facebook's guideline changes on Holocaust – important and overdue

We have to recognize what Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms were created to do: break down barriers, borders and communication lines and provide people with the means to meet.

In March, Facebook’s head of policy in Israel Jordana Cutler received an additional job title. First appointed in 2016, Cutler was now adding “the Jewish Diaspora” to her job description. While the three words might not seem like much, they carried with them quite the punch.

That punch was on display on Monday when the social media titan – with a reported 2.7 billion users – announced that it would ban content that denies or distorts the Holocaust.

It was a strong break from Facebook’s previous position. Mark Zuckerberg offered in a 2018 interview that as a Jew, he was deeply offended by people who deny that the Holocaust happened.

“But at the end of the day, I don’t believe that our platform should take that down because I think there are things that different people get wrong,” he told Recode.

At the time, Zuckerberg’s comments drew the fury of Jewish leaders across the globe. Paul Packer, chairman of the US government’s Commission for the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad, wrote to the Facebook CEO saying: “You have failed your users and the world at large.”

But that was no longer the case as of Monday. Zuckerberg did a 180, explaining that despite his longtime commitment to freedom of speech, “with rising antisemitism, we’re expanding our policy to prohibit any content that denies or distorts the Holocaust as well.”

While Zuckerberg was the one to make the announcement, Cutler has been credited by many Jewish organizational leaders as one of the main catalysts behind the change in policy, which while important, has also raised criticism over why it had to take so long.

Cutler explained to me that policy discussions take place at weekly company forums that focus on analyzing hate speech, dangerous behavior and potentially dangerous organizations. Every discussion, she said, is about finding the right balance.

“If you narrow the definition just to content then you miss behavior,” she said, citing as an example Facebook’s decision to ban Louis Farrakhan from the platform in 2019, a decision YouTube only made this week. Farrakhan, Cutler said, illustrated someone who was removed not simply because of content he posted on the platform, but more due to his public activity and behavior.
