The left has possibly never been stronger in NZ than it is right now. The small right party (Act) had a bump, but this was offset by a similar bump for Greens.

She shut down the country, almost completely prevented COVID spreading, got nominated for the Nobel prize and at the same time paid every employed NZer tens of thousands of dollars in wage subsidies. She is a media darling and due to her huge teeth always looks like she’s smiling.

Sounds great, but in reality it just means a new kind of total control.
The major opposition (National) party went into systematic failure in the lead up to the election. It would’ve taken a miracle to beat ardern anyway, she has risen to a cult of personality and can do whatever the fuck she wants now. Total power to govern with most any coalition partner.
Let us also not forget that the former Prime Minister John Key (aka Obama’s golfing buddy) who was riding a double term wave of popularity, just up and quit literally right after Trump won …
I predict after Trump’s landslide, NZ’s borders will miraculously open up again to accept a rush of American cabalist refugees.
