The enormous economic dislocation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic offers a unique opportunity to fundamentally alter the structure of society, and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) if using the crisis to implement near-permanent austerity measures across the world.

76 of the 91 loans it has negotiated with 81 nations since the beginning of the worldwide pandemic in March have come attached with demands that countries adopt measures such as deep cuts to public services and pensions — measures that will undoubtedly entail privatization, wage freezes or cuts, or the firing of public sector workers like doctors, nurses, teachers and firefighters.

Oxfam has identified at least 14 countries that it expects will imminently freeze or cut public sector wages and jobs. Tunisia, for example, has only 13 doctors per 10,000 people. Any cuts to its already scant healthcare system would cripple it in its fight against the coronavirus. “If people can’t afford testing and care for COVID-19 and other health needs, the virus will continue to spread unchecked and more people will die. Out-of-pocket healthcare expenses were a tragedy before the pandemic, and now they are a death sentence,” Vera added.

Iranian CEO sentenced in US for firm’s sanctions-evading activity

The founder and CEO of an Iranian financial-services firm has been sentenced to nearly two years in prison for running a business that helped people in Iran evade U.S. sanctions, the Justice Department said.

Seyed Sajjad Shahidian, 33, pleaded guilty to a charge related to running Payment24, an Internet-based company that the Justice Department said charged a fee for providing services that enabled Iranians to make online purchases from the United States.

“Shahidian was the founder and CEO of a financial services firm that employed fraudulent tactics designed to circumvent United States sanctions lawfully imposed on the Government of Iran,” said U.S. Attorney Erica MacDonald in a news release. “Such actions are criminal and threaten our national security interests.”

U.S. law bans unauthorized exports by American businesses to Iran. The Justice Department said Payment24 helped Iranian citizens conduct such financial transactions, including the purchase of computer software, software licenses, and computer servers.

The FBI, Militias, Truth and Comey's Legacy

Is it possible that the militia story [about planning to kidnap the governor of Michigan] is another contrived, anti-Trump, smear job by elements within the FBI?

Current FBI Director Christopher Wray hardly engenders confidence as a strong leader bent on cleaning house and reforming a corrupt agency that attempted a soft coup against the presidency. Wray is all about damage control and institutional preservation. When it comes to honesty, Wray does not have a tough act to follow.

The FBI's reputation has been destroyed through blatant politicization. Here are the corrupt political police: Comey, McCabe, Strzok, Page, Clinesmith, Pientka, Brower, Baker, et al. That is a collection of various dirty cops, oath-breakers, coup-plotters, and persons "lacking candor" in FBI parlance.

Half of the country does not believe the FBI. Is it possible that the militia story is another contrived, anti-Trump, smear job by elements within the FBI? If the FBI headquarters can run a coup against the president, can Michigan FBI agents phony-up some charges against fringe characters with sketchy criminal information?

ELECTION FRAUD: Pennsylvania Rejects 334,000 Duplicate Ballots Already – Kentucky Reports Bins of Ballots Discarded

Democrat election fraud is already in the works.

Pennsylvania and Kentucky report incidences of destruction and duplication of hundreds of thousands of ballots.

According to Top Trade Guru:

Pennsylvania has rejected hundreds of thousands of applications for mail-in ballots ahead of the 2020 election.

As reported by ProPublica on Friday, about 372,000 ballot applications were denied, mainly because many of them, about 90 percent (334,000 ballots) were duplicates. Overall, according to the publication, one out of every five requests for mail-in ballots were refused. The state predicts that a record number of ballots would be submitted by mail.

Reports: US drone strike kills 2 senior Al Qaeda leaders in Syria

U.S. Forces carried out a drone strike Thursday which reports say killed two senior Al Qaeda operatives in near Idlib, Syria.

Maj. Beth Riordan, a spokesman for U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed in an emailed statement to American Military News, “U.S. forces conducted a strike against Al Qaeda in Syria (AQ-S) in the vicinity of Idlib, Syria, October 15. AQ-S continues to present a threat to America and our allies.”

Riordan did not provide specifics of the Al Qaeda targets of the Thursday strike. Fox News reported the strike targeted two senior Al Qaeda operatives and was coordinated by the U.S. military’s elite Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC).

Charles Lister, a senior fellow at the Middle East Institute (MEI), on Thursday, tweeted, “BREAKING – Senior #AlQaeda operatives Abu Dhar al-Masri & Abu Yusuf al-Maghrebi (both expelled/defected from Huras al-Din) have been killed in a U.S. drone strike outside Arab Said in #Idlib. They’d been wanted by #HTS too.”

Abu Dhar al-Masri had been a ringleader in fueling an internal dispute within Huras al-Din in June 2019, when ultra-hardliners refused to allow HaD fighters to contribute towards fighting #Assad on frontlines run by #HTS (& influenced by #Turkey).

But there was a problem. No one had figured out where to put all the children.

In a matter of months, the foster care system found itself drowning in hundreds of new cases. By 2017, the state needed space for 6,000 additional foster children – an influx equivalent to the size of the entire foster population of the state of New Jersey.

No one called for her firing, but she makes herself a victim anyway

Mary Gayne, a history professor at James Madison University, had a “spontaneous social media reaction to the morning news” on Monday, she told campus newspaper The Breeze.

The news solidified her plan to vote straight-ticket Democratic in the November election, she had tweeted. “The Republican Party can die for all I care. They’ve demonstrated lack of loyalty to democracy & the US Constitution. Fuck ’em all.”

That off-the-cuff comment drew criticism – but nothing more – from the College Republicans chapter at the Virginia public university and a Republican delegate and JMU alum, Kirk Cox.

Rather than absorb criticism from people without any power over her, Gayne decided to simply delete the tweet, she told The Breeze. “It became clear that the sensibilities of twitterites & robots, that publicly identify themselves as MAGA adherents, were upset by my dropping of the ‘F-bomb’ in a political tweet on my personal twitter feed,” Gayne wrote. It was not “a hill to die on.”

Colorado man sentenced to 304 years for human trafficking

A 30-year old Colorado man will spend the rest of his life in prison after being sentenced to serve 304 years for human trafficking, one of the longest sentences ever given for the crime.

Chauncey Price was convicted in December 2019 on 13 counts, including forgery and the pimping of a child. Three of his victims testified at the trial.

"Chauncey promised to take care of me," one of his victims said at the sentencing. "At first he paid for my drug habit and food and let me stay for free. But nothing is free. … He threatened to kill my sister if I didn't work for him — that is when he turned me out. He kept pushing me to sleep with more and more men, up to eight a day. … I couldn't even use the bathroom without someone watching me. Once I didn't eat for three days."

The victim said Price "exploited young girls" and would "continue to do that if he ever gets out."

Rempel Garner blasts Trudeau Liberals over 'outrageous cover-up tactics' for refusal to release COVID-19 documents

Shadow Minister for Health Michelle Rempel Garner criticized the Trudeau government's handling of the pandemic in a statement this morning, citing a list of "Trudeau's pandemic failures."

Among the failures listed by Rempel Garner include:

• Telling Canadians that there was no person-to-person spread of COVID-19;

• Telling Canadians that border control measures and masks didn’t work;

-Sending critical supplies of personal protective equipment (PPE) to China when [Canada] had a shortage;

• Abdicating responsibility for the pandemic to the provinces;

-Failing to ensure Canadians have access to rapid and at-home testing options;

• And shutting down the federal pandemic early warning system, just months before COVID-19.

The Calgary-Nose Hill MP also announced that she tabled a motion at the Health Committee calling on the Trudeau Liberals to "release documents related to the COVID-19 pandemic," criticizing the Liberals for voting to shut down the committee meeting entirely.
