The FBI is reportedly investigating whether emails published Wednesday by the New York Post in connection with widely discredited corruption allegations about Hunter Biden are part of a possible Russian effort to spread disinformation ahead of the presidential election.

NBC News first reported the existence of the investigation, followed by the Associated Press and CNN, which cite administration and congressional sources.

The alleged emails came to the Rupert Murdoch-owned tabloid through President Donald Trump’s personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, who claimed to have acquired a copy of a computer hard drive belonging to the son of Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden. The authenticity of the emails has not been independently verified, and reporters pointed out major errors and holes in The Post story after it was published.

'We Will Not Be Deterred' - Trudeau Responds After Beijing Directly Threatens "Health & Safety" Of 300,000 Canadians In Hong Kong

Americans probably forget sometimes that President Trump isn't the only world leader currently picking fights with Beijing. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has continued to criticize Beijing's human rights abuses (issues like mass detention in Xinjiang, the new 'national security law' crackdown in Hong Kong - all issues that President Trump has drawn attention to), as a feud that started with Canada's detention of Huawei CFO Meng Wanzhou (the daughter of the company's celebrity founder) has escalated to the point where the lives of two Canadian businessmen now hang in the balance.

Late this week, diplomatic tensions between Ottawa and Beijing flared as China's ambassador to Canada delivered a direct threat to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, openly threatening to unlawfully target innocent Canadian citizens if Canada continues to accept refugees from Hong Kong.

Readers may remember that the UK has led the charge to accept dissidents who no longer feel safe - or, in many cases, are being directly targeted and harassed - formally suspending its extradition treaty to allow them safe and secure residency.

Beijing lambasted the British for once again meddling in China's domestic affairs, but Britain is too big of a geopolitical power to try and bully. The same cannot be said for Canada, whose PM has retaliated against what was an effective state-sanctioned kidnapping of two Canadian citizens with nothing but words and denunciations.

Clearly, Beijing believes that if it pushes hard enough, Ottawa might fold. Otherwise, Ambassador Cong Peiwu probably wouldn't have said what he said on Thursday.

To wit, the "wolf warrior" diplomat told reporters - according to Canada's Globe and Mail - that Beijing finds it unacceptable that Canada recently accepted two pro-democracy dissidents from Hong Kong as refugees. And that if Ottawa accepts any more, Beijing will start targeting Canadian citizens in Hong Kong.

"We strongly urge the Canadian side not to grant so-called political asylum to those violent criminals in Hong Kong, because it is interference in China’s domestic affairs, and certainly it will embolden those violent criminals," he said.

Cong added that accepting more dissidents could jeopardize the "health and safety" of 300,000 Canadians living in Hong Kong, and presumably others living in the mainland (if there are any left following the arrest and prosecution of Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor.

Cong also took umbrage at a call from nearly 60 MPs and senators to shelter more dissidents fleeing Beijing's new national security law criminalizing even pedestrian forms of dissent. Cong denounced the political refugees as "violent criminals" and even hinted that the 300,000 Canadians living in Hong Kong could face persecution if Ottawa doesn't desist.

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in quarantine after bodyguard is revealed to have Covid-19

Germany President Frank-Walter Steinmeier entered quarantine after one of his bodyguards tested positive for the coronavirus. The result of the president's own test is still unknown.

Steinmeier went into quarantine after one of his entourage who was considered a "close contact" caught the disease, a presidential spokeswoman confirmed to German media. There have been no reports about the president displaying any Covid-19 symptoms so far. Steinmeier was immediately tested for coronavirus but the results are not yet available, the presidential office said.

In late March, German Chancellor Angela Merkel also had to spend almost two weeks in quarantine after she came into contact with an infected medic while being vaccinated for another disease. She had three coronavirus tests during the self-isolation period but all of them were negative.

The news on Steinmeier came as Germany reported a record number of new Covid-19 cases since the start of the epidemic. More than 7,800 people tested positive for the disease on Friday, bringing the number of active cases to over 56,000, according to German media. More than 9,700 Germans have died of coronavirus since the start of the pandemic.

'If not a genocide, something close to it' going on in China: US national security adviser; warns Taiwan of Chinese invasion

United States National Security Adviser Robert O'Brien delivered warnings regarding China on Friday, while also praising Hong Kong's pro-democracy protesters. Speaking at a webinar hosted by the non-partisan Aspen Institute, O'Brien expressed concern over China's iron-fisted rule in the Xinjiang region.

"If not a genocide, something close to it going on in Xinjiang," O'Brien told the online audience. Xinjiang is home to millions of China's ethnic minority of Uighur Muslims. The northwest region of China is also home to internment camps, which the Chinese Communist Party officially calls "vocational education and training centers."

There could be as many as 3 million Uighur Muslims detained in the secret re-education camps, according to Randall Schriver, former U.S. assistant secretary of defense for Indo-Pacific Security Affairs.

O'Brien said, "The Chinese are literally shaving the heads of Uighur women and making hair products and sending them to the United States."

O'Brien is citing the seizure of 13 tons of hair products worth more than $800,000 at the Port of New York/Newark by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection in June. The confiscation of human hair products, which originated from Xinjiang, points to "potential human rights abuses of forced child labor and imprisonment" by China.

O'Brien was also troubled by the crackdown of Hong Kong pro-democracy demonstrators by the Chinese government.

"Anyone who's been to Hong Kong and spent time there, it's sad what's going to happen. Hong Kong has been fully absorbed into China," O'Brien stated. "It'd be great if we had more immigrants from Hong Kong. They're terrific people."

The National Security Adviser also warned Taiwan to bolster its military to defend against a possible invasion by China.

"I think Taiwan needs to start looking at some asymmetric and anti-access area denial strategies and so on and really fortify itself in a manner that would deter the Chinese from any sort of amphibious invasion or even a gray zone operation against them," O'Brien said at the event.

O'Brien added that China doesn't want to do an amphibious landing on Taiwan, "It would be a hard operation for the Chinese to do." He added an animal aphorism, "Lions generally don't like to eat porcupines; they can, but they prefer not to."

Earlier this week, the Trump administration informed Congress that it plans to sell advanced weapons systems to Taiwan.

"The U.S. sales involve the Lockheed Martin-made High Mobility Artillery Rocket System, a truck-mounted rocket launcher; the Boeing-made over-the-horizon, precision strike missile Standoff Land Attack Missile-Expanded Response; and external sensor pods for Taiwan's F-16 jets," as reported by Defense News.

Last month, the Trump administration announced they would sell 66 new F-16 fighter jets to Taiwan.

O'Brien said that Beijing would be forced to consider possible retaliation by the United States for China's aggression. "We have a lot of tools in the toolkit that, if we got involved, could make that a very dangerous effort for China to engage in," O'Brien said.

‘Explosion’ & huge fire in Harrisonburg, Virginia leaves at least three injured

A fire in a commercial business area of Harrisonburg, Virginia has hospitalized three people, two of whom are in a “serious condition,” as first responders continue to search for people and battle the blaze.

Firefighters responded to “what was described as an explosion and a subsequent fire” in Miller Circle in Harrisonburg, Mike Parks, the director of communications for the city, told the press on Saturday.

While the exact site of the blast wasn’t immediately clear, a shopping center reportedly affected by the fire contained a vape store, a barbershop, as well as grocery and music stores.

Three people were transported to hospital from the scene, two in a “serious condition,” and another with a “minor condition.”

Harrisonburg citizens took to social media to describe the sounds of the explosion early on Saturday. Videos from the scene show serious damage to the commercial area. Firefighters continue to work at the scene, but the fire has reportedly been “contained.”

Commission Chose Twice-Registered Democrat to Moderate Upcoming Presidential Debate

The corrupt Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) chose NBC’s Kristen Welker, who has twice — twice! — registered as a Democrat to moderate the upcoming debate between President Trump and Joe Biden.

Yep, here we go again.

The New York Post reports that Welker, who will moderate Thursday’s final presidential debate, registered as a Democrat in Washington, DC, as recently as 2012. She also registered as a Democrat in her home state of Rhode Island in 2004.

Welker’s been a White House correspondent at far-left NBC News since 2011.

Why is it so difficult for the CPD to get this right?

Why?

Well, it’s not difficult to get it right — if you want to get it right. The problem is that the CPD is corrupt and has no interest in getting it right.

How hard would it be to allow the Republican presidential campaign and the Democrat presidential campaign to each choose a moderator who will take turns asking questions?

And why do these things always-always-always fall one way. When it comes to the CPD, these massive conflicts of interest always hurt the Republican candidate. When the moderator steps out of line — whether it’s Candy Crowley’s lying or Chris Wallace’s bald-faced lies and constant interruptions — it’s always-always-always against the Republican.

The fact that it always-always-always swings against the GOP proves the CPD is not incompetent — what it proves is that the CPD is corrupt. It proves the CPD is rigging these debates to aid and abet the Democrat. It proves that whoever the Republican party chooses to run for president in 2024 had better damn well tell the CPD to go to hell if they want my vote.

The CPD is not even trying to hide its desire to rig this election.

The choice of rabid Trump hater Chris Wallace was, on its face, a deliberate set-up that played out exactly as anyone who is aware of Chris Wallace’s lies, unprofessionalism, and conspiracy-mongering expected.

And then, in order to damage Trump, to label him as some sort of Coronavirus Superspreader, and without even consulting the Trump campaign, the CPD just up and announced the second debate would be a virtual debate. The CPD ignored the science — there was no doubt Trump would be corona free in time for the debate — to damage the president.

Oh, and for its second debate moderator, the CPD chose C-Span’s Steve Scully, a liar and a cheat who interned for Joe Biden and who was in active communication, in active collusion with anti-Trump activists.

And Scully is a man of such low character, after he got caught coordinating with anti-Trump activists, he up lied about it, a lie the CPD helped spread, — an audacious lie about being hacked.

And now, for debate number three, the CPD chose a moderator who has twice registered as a Democrat.

It’s not as if we don’t already know Welker is a far-left activist. Anyone who watches her neurotic cable news segments knows what she is, and the fact she felt the need to deactivate her Twitter account should have been an automatic disqualifier to moderate a debate.

Good grief, a presidential debate moderator actively engaged in a cover-up of her own tweets.

It’s outrageously dishonest behavior.

Alabama Breaks Absentee Voting Record Weeks Before Election

Voters in Alabama set an absentee voting record this week, according to Alabama Secretary of State of John Merrill (R).

Over 91,000 Alabama voters have already cast their votes for the November 3 election. It smashed the previous record of 89,000, “which occurred during the course of an entire election cycle,” AL.com reported.

According to Merrill’s office, 162,040 absentee ballots had been requested as of Tuesday.

“We still have three weeks left and we have broken the record,” Merrill said.

Officials believe absentee voters could make up roughly 150,000 of the expected 2.8 million voters across the state.

While Alabama voters typically need to meet special criteria to vote absentee, officials expanded the restrictions due to the Wuhan coronavirus.

Per the secretary of state’s office:

Due to the declared states of emergency, any qualified voter who determines it is impossible or unreasonable to vote at their polling place shall be eligible to check the box on the absentee ballot application that is most applicable to that individual. In the case none of the boxes are appropriate, voters can check the box which reads as follows:

“I have a physical illness or infirmity which prevents my attendance at the polls. [ID REQUIRED]”

Voters in Alabama have until Thursday, October 29, to submit an absentee ballot application. According to the office, “the deadline to return an absentee ballot to the Absentee Election Manager is the close of business Monday, November 2, and the last day to postmark an absentee ballot is Monday, November 2.”

The upcoming election is unique in that an estimated 75 percent of voters will be eligible to vote by mail due to the coronavirus pandemic, sparking concerns for both fraud and error.

Critics of mass mail-in voting scored a major victory on Friday after the Michigan Court of Appeals ruled that absentee ballots must arrive by Election Day to be counted, nixing the lower court ruling extending the deadline by two weeks.

Report: Former UK Ambassador to U.S Investigated for Possible Leaks to Alleged CNN Lover

The former British Ambassador to the United States was investigated for possibly leaking secret White House information to a married CNN journalist he was reportedly having an affair with.

Lord Kim Darroch, a married father of two, was said to have been engaged in an affair with former White House correspondent Michelle Kosinski, who had mysteriously begun releasing reports detailing inner communications and plans of the Trump administration.

U.S. government sources told The Sun that the Department of Justice (DoJ) launched an investigation into the former British diplomat after being “astonished” at the information released in a series of articles by Mrs Kosinski.

In July of 2019, Darroch resigned following leaks of his indiscrete diplomatic cables to the United Kingdom, which derided President Trump and his administration as “incompetent”, “dysfunctional”, and “clumsy”.

Days prior to Darroch’s resignation, President Trump had said: “The ambassador has not served the UK well,” adding: “I can say things about him but I won’t bother.”

A former top U.S. official told the British press that Mr Trump was referencing the DoJ investigation into the ambassador and his affair with the CNN reporter, saying: “The President never holds back, but out of respect to the UK he did on this occasion.”

A security source added: “The leaks of the cables last year were obviously deeply embarrassing and left Darroch no option but to resign once President Trump made his feelings clear.”

“But for the U.S. to investigate the most senior diplomat of its greatest ally on suspicion of leaking secret information is almost unprecedented,” the source said.

“Although the investigation found nothing over Darroch, the fact it happened is extraordinary.”

According to text messages seen by The Sun, Lord Darroch began his affair with Mrs Kosinski, who is also married, in 2018, meeting her in secret.

According to the report, Kosinski’s reports for CNN increasingly featured White House scoops, raising suspicions amongst senior officials, who previously described her as being “not well connected”.

Security officials suspected the now-former British ambassador of leaking info to Kosinski, detailing plans for then-CIA director Mike Pompeo to become the Secretary of State. Kosinski also allegedly learned of sensitive plans for Mr Pompeo to travel to North Korea to pressure the communist dictatorship to release three American captives.

“It was believed that no one on the U.S. side would leak this information,” a source said.

‘Garbage company’: Mother Jones chief lashes out at Facebook for throttling traffic to left-leaning news site

Facebook’s tinkering with its news feed has cost Mother Jones up to $600,000 a year in lost revenue, its editor-in-chief has alleged, calling the social network a “garbage company” and a “toxic cesspool” damaging the US.

Clara Jeffery said she was “enraged” after reading a Wall Street Journal story about how Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has drifted away from his apolitical stance and became a seriously involved player in the last four years.

Among other things, the newspaper described how in 2017 Facebook changed its news feed algorithm “to minimize the presence of political news.”

“Policy executives were concerned about the outsize impact of the changes on the right, including the Daily Wire, people familiar with the matter said. Engineers redesigned their intended changes so that left-leaning sites like Mother Jones were affected more than previously planned,” WSJ reported, adding that Zuckerberg had personally signed off on the alterations.

Mother Jones has experienced a significant drop in traffic coming from Facebook, Jeffery said, adding that it costs her publication some $400,000 to $600,000 annually. She also accused the social network of lying to the MJ social media team about the changes in the algorithm.

The WSJ report and the backlash from the Left came as the power that big tech companies have over what information reaches the public in the US is subjected to increased scrutiny. Earlier this week Facebook restricted the spread of a New York Post story about Hunter Biden and allegations that he had peddled influence as the son of then-Vice President Joe Biden. Twitter went even further and banned sharing links to the story on its service, a controversial decision that since had been reversed.

The acts of censorship were cheered-on by many public figures on the Left, which sees the story as a smear of the Democrat candidate in the presidential election. Many on the Right called it a brazen attack on freedom of speech and the latest proof that Silicon Valley giants play favorites in politics.

Budapest Blasts Biden on ‘Son’s Ukrainian Energy Deals’ After Attack on Hungary and Poland

Joe Biden has triggered a huge diplomatic row with NATO members Hungary and Poland after appearing to lump them in with Belarus as “totalitarian regimes”, with the Hungarian government demanding answers on his family’s alleged corruption in Ukraine.

“You see what’s happening in everything from Belarus to Poland to Hungary and the rise of totalitarian regimes in the world, and, as well as, this President embraces all the thugs of the world,” said the 77-year-old presidential hopeful at a recent town hall event.

Biden’s seeming comparison of Poland and Hungary, both European Union member-states and parties to the NATO defence alliance in good standing, with Belaurs and other “totalitarian regimes” sparked outrage in both countries, with the Hungarian government of Trump ally Viktor Orbán launching an all-out counter-attack on the Democrats and Biden personally.

“We may still remember the kind of Central European policy the Democrats pursued for eight years; we may still recall the continuous lecturing, accusations and attacks,” railed the country’s foreign minister, Péter Szijjártó, in a video message uploaded to Facebook, denouncing Biden’s comments as having “nothing to do with reality”.

Szijjártó further recalled how, under Obama and Biden, “members of the U.S. diplomatic corps in Budapest openly took part in opposition protests and published ‘extraordinarily biased’ statements with the aim of supporting left-liberal parties and attacking the Hungarian government,” according to the official About Hungary website.

The foreign minister went on the note that Biden seemed “particularly busy” when it came to foreign policy under the Obama administration, suggesting that for a time, “and I exaggerate a bit, Biden spent more of his time outside D.C. in Ukraine than in rural America.”

“This was the time when his son happened to be a chief executive at a key Ukrainian energy company; this was also the time when there were deals in the Ukrainian energy sector that were suspected of being corrupt,” the Hungarian continued.

“[I]t would be best if Joe Biden could answer some of those old questions that have been out there for a while, before attacking Central Europe,” he said, adding: “It would be great if Joe Biden could tell us why he put pressure on the Ukrainian government to fire its chief prosecutor, and how all of this related to the investigation into his son’s Ukrainian energy deals grinding to a halt.”

Brexit ‘trade talks are over’: UK sees no point in more negotiations unless EU changes its stance

The UK sees no point in continuing trade talks with the EU unless it “fundamentally changes” its position, a spokesman for Britain’s PM Boris Johnson has said, blaming the bloc for failed negotiations.

The EU’s chief negotiator Michel Barnier should only come to London for a meeting scheduled next week if he was willing to discuss details on travel and cargo haulage, the spokesman said on Friday.

“There is no point in trade talks if the EU doesn’t change its position. The EU effectively ended the trade talks yesterday. Only if the EU fundamentally changes its position, will it be worth talking,” he said.

The trade talks are over: the EU have effectively ended them by saying that they do not want to change their negotiating position.

Earlier in the day, Johnson unequivocally said the UK was ready for a no-deal Brexit and would rather stick to the “Australia solution” if the EU would not change its stance.

“It’s becoming clear the EU don’t want to do the type of Canada deal that we originally asked for,” he said.

The “Australia solution” means the UK will not have any special agreement with the European Union, but rather would do business according to the World Trade Organization (WTO) rules starting from January, when the Brexit transition period ends. A no-deal divorce with the EU and trade on WTO rules, with all the applicable tariffs, is likely to trigger a sharp increase in prices across the UK.

London’s rhetoric met with angry reaction in the EU, with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, suggesting the bloc would rather walk away from the negotiations as well but would not give in to Britain’s pressure.

“We are ready for a deal, but not at any price,” France’s President Emmanuel Macron said, insisting that that Britain needed a deal more than the EU.

Report: Anti-Brexit, Anti-Trump George Osborne Being Lined Up as Next BBC Chairman

Former Chancellor of the Exchequer, Trump critic, and anti-Brexit campaign “scaremonger-general” George Osborne is being lined up as the next chairman of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), according to reports.

The former Tory MP, whose position in former prime minister David Cameron’s administration was roughly equivalent to that of Secretary of the Treasury in the U.S., would be in line for an increased salary of £160,000 for the “3-4 days per week” role, with a source telling The Telegraph that government ministers may further increase this to up to £280,000 to get him to apply.

While the right-leaning newspaper reports that Boris Johnson is “understood to be very keen to appoint a Conservative to the role to counter a perceived left-wing bias at the corporation”, Osborne would hardly be a disruptive fit at the publicly-funded establishment broadcaster, having been one of the most strident, doom-mongering members of the anti-Brexit campaign during the EU referendum and sneeringly dismissive of the broader national populist movement as embodied by its global standard-bearer, Donald Trump.

“Frankly, Trump’s comments fly in the face of the founding principle of the United States,” Osborne had told Parliament in his British government role in 2015, after the then-candidate had said that there are “places in London and other places that are so radicalised that the police are afraid for their own lives.”

Denying that such no-go zones existed — contrary to the firsthand accounts of frontline officers, who agreed with Trump — Osborne insisted that London police have “fantastic relations with British Muslims” and that “the best way to defeat nonsense like this is to engage in robust democratic debate and make it very clear that [Trump’s] views are not welcome.”

He would go on to tacitly endorse Hillary Clinton’s presidential run in May 2016, telling television presenter Robert Peston: “We look forward to working with whoever the next President is, whoever she may be.”

Osborne was of course disabused of his belief that Clinton was a shoo-in for the presidency later that year — although not before another upset victory for anti-establishment forces terminated his political career with the vote to Leave the European Union.

Leave campaigners have expressed incredulity that the man who was arguably at the apex of the Remain campaign’s infamous Project Fear, issuing now disproven threats of 500,000 to over 800,000 job losses in the immediate aftermath of a Brexit vote, along with a savage “punishment budget” — which he was not around to implement, as it turned out — could possibly be considered for BBC chairman by Boris Johnson’s pro-Brexit administration.

U.S. Identifies Mexico’s Former Defense Secretary as Narco-Godfather Figure

U.S. federal prosecutors accuse Mexico’s former secretary of defense and some of his top aides of working with drug traffickers for years. The allegations followed the highly publicized arrest in California by U.S. federal agents and the subsequent court appearance of the former general. Prosecutors unsealed a five-count indictment against him.

Salvador Cienfuegos, a career Mexican Army General who served as Mexico’s secretary of defense under former President Enrique Pena Nieto, was known in the criminal underworld as “El Padrino” or The Godfather. He is charged with being a close ally of a faction of the Beltran Leyva Cartel known as H-2 — named after their late leader Juan Francisco Patron. As Breitbart Texas reported, federal authorities arrested Cienfuegos in California. A U.S. District Judge in New York unsealed the criminal indictment against him and additional information related to the case.

According to documents submitted by prosecutors, Cienfuegos allowed his associates with the Beltran Leyva Cartel (H-2) to operate with impunity in Mexico as they moved ton-quantities of cocaine and other drugs into U.S. cities. That criminal organization operated cells in Nevada, Ohio, Minnesota, North Carolina, and New York. In exchange for cartel bribes, Cienfuegos would keep the Mexican military from carrying out actions against his allies including helping them move into new territories such as Mazatlán, Sinaloa. He also allegedly targeted actions against his rivals. The allegations also claim that the former top military official leaked sensitive U.S. law enforcement information to his allies and introduced top leaders to other corrupt officials.

Wray Shows True Colors By Rewarding FBI Agent Who Pushed “Whitmer Kidnapping Plot” With Plum Promotion

On Tuesday, FBI Director Christopher Wray promoted Steven M. D’Antuono to head the Bureau’s Washington Field Office.

Steven M. D’Antuono, who was named chief of the Detroit FBI office a year ago, has been promoted to head the Washington Field Office, a coveted post in the bureau.

FBI Director Christopher Wray made the announcement Tuesday, just several days after D’Antuono’s agents and state police busted up a plot to abduct Gov. Gretechen Whitmer. His official new title is assistant director in charge. [Deadline Detroit]

Heading the D.C. field office is one of the most coveted posts in law enforcement. It’s the second-largest FBI field office, trailing only New York City.

D’Antuono had only been running the Detroit office for about a year prior to this prestigious promotion. His most prestigious case by far climaxed just last week, as it was D’Antuono’s agents who helped arrest 13 men for allegedly plotting to kidnap Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer. Democrats and the press, who want to downplay months of rioting and mayhem the left, used the highly-publicized arrests to blame the right for political violence.

The heavily politicized nature of the alleged kidnapping case, and its suspicious timing, raise concerns about Christopher Wray’s promotion of D’Antuono to one of the Bureau’s most important offices.

In context, however, this move isn’t surprising. After a summer of riots and Antifa revolutionary activities, FBI director Wray claimed that “white supremacist” terrorism is the biggest threat to America’s well-being, followed by Russian agents.

Unsurprisingly, Wray is now a favorite of the Democrats. Not only did Kamala Harris and Joe Biden praise him during their presidential debates, but Wray supplied Biden’s talking point that Antifa is merely an “idea,” and not a dangerous revolutionary insurrection.

When the anti-police party of “mostly peaceful protests” is stealing the FBI director’s talking points, it’s proof that said director needs to go.

Yet Attorney General Bill Bar has done nothing to encourage a chance in Wray’s behavior or in the FBI’s leadership. That’s hardly a surprise. “Doing nothing” is Barr’s favored approach to running the DOJ.

Indeed, the problems with the FBI and its Director Christopher Wray serve to highlight a larger problem with Bill Barr’s Department of Justice.

Anti-Trump Former UK Deputy Prime Minister ‘Involved’ In Facebook Censorship of Biden Story

Former British deputy prime minister of turned Vice President for Global Affairs and Communications at Facebook, Sir Nick Clegg, was allegedly involved in the tech giant’s decision to censor the New York Post article exposing details about the Biden family.

A report in The Telegraph claims that the anti-Trump British politician — who exited the former Conservative-Liberal Democrat government when the latter was trounced in the 2015 elections — was one of several members of the content moderation team who decided to reduce the distribution of the damaging report their site.

While most censorship decisions on Facebook are handled by low-level employees and algorithms, high-profile cases such as the New York Post story are said to be handled by Facebook’s vice president of content policy, then the vice president of global public policy, and, finally, by the former Lib Dem leader.

A select few cases, including posts from President Donald Trump, are reportedly adjudicated by Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg, although the former deputy prime minister is also said to be in on such top decisions.

Sir Nick became Deputy Prime Minister in 2010 after forming a coalition government with the Conservative Party, then led by the notionally centre-right David Cameron.

Under his leadership, the Lib Dems saw a drastic decrease in support from the public, winning just 8 seats in the 2015 general election, a defeat which led to Sir Nick being ousted as leader of the party. In the 2017 snap election he lost his place in the British parliament entirely, with his constituents voting him out.

Sir Nick spent much of his enforced retirement trying to overturn the 2016 vote to Leave the European Union, but in 2018 he joined Facebook, writing in the left-wing Guardian that he was doing so to help the tech giant “navigate the numerous challenges it faces”, including “the balance between free speech and prohibited content”.

The left-wing former deputy prime minister has a long history of criticising President Donald Trump, even going so far as to join an anti-Trump protest when the American leader visited the United Kingdom in 2018.

Sir Nick said that he was doing so because of Trump’s “crazed attacks on the EU, NATO, and WTO have changed things. Plus his best UK pals are Nigel Farage, Boris Johnson and Piers Morgan.”

“He dislikes everything I believe in and believes in everyone I dislike!” he pronounced.

In September, Clegg suggested that Facebook would actively censor the President should he declare victory in November.

Human Smugglers Dump Small Children on Border Riverbank in Texas

Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol agents rescued four shivering children left alone on the north bank of the river separating Texas and Mexico. Agents located the children walking on the riverbank after being picked up on video surveillance equipment.

Brownsville Station Border Patrol agents received information about four small children walking alone on the Texas side of the Rio Grande. An agent operating electronic surveillance equipment first noticed the children and passed the info along to agents patrolling the border river, according to information obtained from Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol officials. Shortly after observing the children, the Remote Video Surveillance System operator witnessed a raft moving across the river to Mexico.

Agents arrived on the scene and found the four young children walking along the levee. Agents said the children were wet and shivering.

The agents quickly placed the four children in a vehicle and turned up the heater. They then transported the abandoned children to the station for processing and medical screening.

Agents report the children were two sets of siblings. They identified the children as Honduran and Salvadoran nationals — ages seven, six, four, and four, officials reported.

Officials said the four children had names and U.S. phone numbers written on their clothing. Agents put the children in dry, warm clothes and turned them over to medical staff for evaluation.

Report: Source confirms 'the big guy' in alleged Hunter Biden-China email is reference to Joe Biden

One person included in an email thread allegedly involving Hunter Biden and his business dealing in China has "corroborated the veracity of the messages," Fox News reported late Friday.

What's more, the source told Fox News that a person referred to as "the big guy" in the emails was a reference to Democratic nominee Joe Biden.

What are the details?

Fox News reported:

One email, dated May 13, 2017, and obtained by Fox News, includes a discussion of "remuneration packages" for six people in a business deal with a Chinese energy firm. The email appeared to identify Hunter Biden as "Chair / Vice Chair depending on agreement with CEFC," in an apparent reference to now-bankrupt CEFC China Energy Co.

The email includes a note that "Hunter has some office expectations he will elaborate." A proposed equity split references "20" for "H" and "10 held by H for the big guy?" with no further details. Fox News spoke to one of the people who was copied on the email, who confirmed its authenticity. Sources told Fox News that "the big guy" is a reference to the former vice president. The New York Post initially published the emails and other controversial messages that Fox News has also obtained.

The report came one day after the New York Post reported that it had obtained emails allegedly showing Hunter Biden "pursued lucrative deals involving China's largest private energy company," CEFC China Energy Co.

The Post triggered a firestorm of controversy on Wednesday after obtaining a hard drive that allegedly belonged to Hunter Biden.

That hard drive belonged to a computer that was dropped off at a Delaware computer repair store in April 2019, but was never retrieved. The FBI reportedly seized the laptop last December, but the repair shop owner made copies of the hard drive before turning it over.

The initial story that set off the chain reaction of controversy — including social media companies censoring the story — claimed that emails from the hard drive showed that Joe Biden met with a top executive at the Ukrainian natural gas company at which Hunter Biden once worked.

What is Biden saying?

The Biden campaign has denied any wrongdoing took place, but acknowledged that Biden could have had an informal interaction with the Burisma executive.

Campaign spokesman Andrew Bates told Politico, "Investigations by the press, during impeachment, and even by two Republican-led Senate committees whose work was decried as 'not legitimate' and political by a GOP colleague have all reached the same conclusion: that Joe Biden carried out official U.S. policy toward Ukraine and engaged in no wrongdoing. Trump administration officials have attested to these facts under oath."

Meanwhile, Biden was directly confronted about the controversy late Friday. In response, the former vice president snapped at the reporter who questioned him.
