GOP Senator Ron Johnson Sends Letter to FBI Director Wray Demanding Answers on Hunter Biden’s Laptop

Government Affairs Committee Chairman Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) on Saturday sent a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray demanding answers on Hunter Biden’s laptop.

The New York Post on Wednesday dropped an October surprise on Joe Biden when they began releasing damning emails found on Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop hard drive.

The New York Post reported that a laptop computer abandoned at a Delaware repair shop contains emails between Hunter Biden and various foreign actors offering him money to have access to his VP daddy Joe.

According to The Post, the computer repair shop owner contacted the FBI and gave them Hunter Biden’s laptop in December of 2019.

After months of inaction from the FBI, the computer repair shop owner reached out to Senator Mike Lee’s office and again received no response, prompting him to reach out to Rudy Giuliani.

Wray has until October 22 to answer questions about FBI technical analysis and “the committee must know whether the FBI has assessed the validity of materials the whistleblower has provided and what, if any, actions FBI has taken since obtaining this information.”

“On September 24, 2020, the day after Chairman Grassley and I released our report titled, “Hunter Biden, Burisma, and Corruption: The Impact on U.S. Government Policy and Related Concerns,” a whistleblower contacted my committee and informed my staff that he had possession of a laptop left in his business by Hunter Biden. He also informed us that he provided its contents to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in response to a December 9, 2019 grand jury subpoena,” Johnson wrote to Wray.

Wray however refused to confirm or deny any of the information provided to the FBI by the Senate Committee.

“As the first step in our due diligence, committee staff contacted FBI officials and asked for confirmation of certain facts in an attempt to validate the whistleblower’s claims and assertions. Unfortunately, several days later, the FBI responded that it would not confirm or deny any information identified by the committee even though several of our questions were not related to the possible existence of an ongoing grand jury investigation,” Johnson wrote.

Ron Johnson gave Wray until October 22 to answer the following:

Separately, House Republicans on Thursday sent a letter to Director Chris Wray asking if the FBI was in possession of Hunter Biden’s laptop during the impeachment coup of President Trump.

“If the FBI was, in fact, in possession of this evidence and failed to alert the White House to its existence that would have given even more weight to the president’s legal defense, this was a gross error in judgement and a severe violation of trust,” the letter says.

The House Democrats launched an impeachment coup against President Trump in December over a phone call he had with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky where he discussed Biden’s corruption.

It appears the FBI was in possession of Hunter Biden’s laptop and failed to alert the Trump Administration to its existence.

Certainly the damning evidence found on Hunter’s laptop would have bolstered President Trump’s defense.

Zimbabwe: Pandemic Empties National Park, Opening Way for Illegal Gold Mining

Illegal gold mining has surged in Zimbabwe during the coronavirus pandemic, according to a report by Reuters on Monday.

Zimbabwe’s Chimanimani National Park, normally a major tourist attraction, has seen a significant decline in visitors during the coronavirus pandemic, largely due to travel restrictions. Locals have taken advantage of the lack of tourists to mine for gold in the park’s mountains in recent months.

“For the past couple of years, we have been seeing illegal gold miners in the mountains, but suddenly during lockdown we started to see hundreds of them,” Collen Sibanda, vice chairman of the Chimanimani Tourist Association (CTA), told Reuters.

According to the news agency, “Activists, industry experts, and some of the miners themselves say rangers employed by the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (Zimparks) to protect Chimanimani National Park are involved in the illicit activity.”

“Zimparks is recruiting people. They are organizing these syndicates,” Sibanda said.

Zimbabwe is currently suffering from its worst economic crisis in over a decade, battling crippling hyperinflation and record-high unemployment. The dire economic circumstances have forced an increasing number of young Zimbabweans to turn to illegal activities, such as gold mining in protected parks, to earn a living.

A man named Lenny Kwaramba told Reuters that he had been mining for gold in the Chimanimani mountains without a license since March.

“I thought it was legal because we were working with the rangers,” he explained.

“We were given a target, we would sell about 40 grams of gold per day,” he said. Kwaramba described how “as the miners came back down the mountain, the rangers would take the gold and pay them in U.S. dollars.”

Zimbabwe deployed members of its military and police to the national park in August to “help the rangers evict the miners,” according to the report.

“I had to run for my life,” Kwaramba claimed. “They were firing at us. Some [miners] were injured and others are missing,” he added.

Zimparks spokesman Tinashe Farawo told Reuters that park authorities were aware of claims that Chimanimani’s rangers were directly involved in the illegal gold mining.

“We have heard such reports. We are currently investigating the allegations,” he told the news agency.

While no official data exists on the number of illegal gold miners in the Chimanimani Mountains, Zimbabwe government authorities admit that reports of the illicit activity have significantly increased over the past few years.

Recent reports indicate that gold panning in the mountains remains mostly small-scale and informal.

The estimated “output from artisanal gold panning in the area [of Chimanimani] from 2007 to 2011 was between 600-to-900 kg per year, with less than half of that amount being officially recorded,” the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew in London reported in 2016.

When I got accused of a serious crime I was put in jail until I had a hearing and sought bail.

When any of the political elite get accused of a crime they have an investigation that is drawn out until it's forgotten about then quietly released findings claim not enough evidence for charges or an indictment. We have Biden on video bragging about his crimes yet that is not enough.

The system is clearly two tiered!
