Twitter Refuses To Unlock NYPost Account Unless Paper Deletes Tweets About Hunter Biden

By immediately condemning the Hunter Biden emails and photos published by the New York Post as the work of Russian hackers colluding with Rudy Giuliani, the MSM destroyed any credibility it might have had. As we pointed out earlier, more evidence has emerged to support Giuliani's version of events - namely, that he was given a copy of the laptop's hard drive and all of its contents by the owner of a Delaware computer-repair shop.

But despite apologizing and acknowledging "straight up blocking of URLs was wrong", Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey has apparently not finished punishing the New York Post, because three days after the account was initially frozen, the New York Post hasn't been able to tweet, and according to a NY Post report, Twitter has frozen the New York Post's account until the paper's social media managers agree to delete six tweets about Hunter Biden.

"Anyone who looks at The Post’s Twitter feed can’t even see the tweets about the Biden stories, which have been replaced by messages saying, 'This Tweet is no longer available,'" the Post wrote on Friday.

Twitter previously said the Post's Hunter Biden stories violated the website's Hacked Media Policy which prohibits the display of "hacked" information, an allegation that the Post called "baseless." However, on Friday, Twitter updated that policy, saying it will start labeling content that violates its rules rather than remove it altogether "unless it is directly shared by hackers or those acting in concert with them."

Confusingly, though, the company said that these changes wouldn't apply retroactively, meaning that the NYP still must delete the tweets if it wants to use its account again, even though readers can't even see them.

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer Vetoes Bill Targeting Voter Fraud

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) vetoed legislation that would have made it a felony to attempt to apply for multiple absentee ballots or fill out an application for other individuals without their consent.

The Associated Press reports:

The Democratic governor said voter fraud — such as trying to vote more than once — already is a crime, and the Republican-sponsored legislation would “muddy the waters” and “likely confuse voters” about what conduct is criminal. In a letter to lawmakers Friday, she said it is impossible to get a second ballot without spoiling the first one and cautioned that people might submit multiple applications because of memory or error.

The main bill was passed by the GOP-controlled House and Senate on bipartisan 77-26 and 32-6 votes, with some Democrats opposed.

“Any suggestion that the filing of a second absentee ballot application is criminal behavior creates needless confusion and fearmongering around the absentee voting process,” wrote Whitmer. “It is bad for voters and bad for our elections.”

State Rep. Ann Bollin, a Republican who sponsored the legislation, criticized Whitmer over the veto, arguing both bills were designed to deter fraud, while enhancing confidence as voters battle “noise” regarding mail-in voting.

“This legislation would have created a felony penalty for someone who fills out an application for another person in an attempt to commit fraud,” she said. “That’s not voter intimidation – it’s voter protection.”

President Donald Trump has repeatedly warned of potential issues stemming from voting by mail, saying voter fraud could lead to “the greatest election disaster in history.”

“They think they’re going to send hundreds of millions of ballots all over the United States and it’s gonna come out,” the president has said. “You won’t know the election results for weeks, months, maybe years after. Maybe you’ll never know the election result. And that’s what I’m concerned with.”

How Many People Have Voted So Far? A State-By-State Breakdown As Trump-Biden Early Voting Heats Up

Ballots cast so far account for 15% of the total number of ballots cast in 2016 and half of the total number of early votes

Democrats are outpolling Republicans 2-1

8% of those who have voted early never have voted before

More than 20 million Americans already had cast early ballots by Friday with the Nov. 3 presidential election still more than two weeks away. The 20 million votes amount to 15% of the number of ballots cast in the 2016 presidential election.

Elections experts said Democrats are propelling the vote, outvoting Republicans by a 2-1 ratio in the 42 states included in an Associated Press count.

“It’s crazy,” Michael McDonald, a University of Florida political scientist who tracks, told the AP. “We can be certain this will be a high-turnout election.”

He said the 20.8 million votes are 10 times as many as the number cast at this point in the 2016 race and half of all early votes cast in 2016. Eighty-two percent of the ballots were sent in through the mail while 18% were cast in person, with half of the votes coming from people at least 65 years of age.

Though Republicans said the Democratic surge is meaningless because their supporters are more likely to vote later or on Election Day, the AP said it appears 8% of those who already have voted never voted before and 13.8% voted in just half of previous elections.

A recent Gallup poll indicated 62% of Democrats planned to vote early compared with 28% of Republicans.

President Donald Trump has been railing against widespread mail-in voting, claiming it would lead to widespread fraud. Many states expanded their mail-in options in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, which has killed more than 218,000 Americans since March and raised fears of contracting the virus at crowded voting sites on Election Day.

With Republicans more likely to opt for in-person, Election Day voting than Democrats, the early surge may not mean much.

“Republicans will show up in person on Election Day and reelect President Trump,” campaign spokeswoman Thea McDonald told the Washington Post, adding that Democrats have “cannibalized” their Election Day turnout.

“There’s a big wave of Republicans coming. And frankly, that’s a data point that a lot of people tweeting about this fail to realize,” Steve Schale, a Democratic operative in Florida who heads the pro-Biden super PAC Unite the Country, told Politico.
