I think that could be checked by metadata. Assuming (yeah, I know) photos on the hard drive would be date of upload. I don't know about an Apple sync, though, that is, do files keep original date or synced date on updated machine?

Could be pictures were already there and wife tricked him. There was a DOA machine, a good machine and a machine with a salvageable drive. Wife gives him a stack and tells him to drop them off.

Also, shop owner says he had eye issues (medical) at time of drop off. Could be it wasn't Hunter at drop off.

I do think scorned wife was involved, though.
