Hypothesis -
The laptop with the dirt on Hunter was left at the repair shop by the CCP (foreign state actors).

The laptop was just meant to be a warning to Hunter and it ended up going too far. He was supposed to pick up the laptop and see the dirt they had on him (which would make him keep his promises) but, maybe, he was too wasted or in rehab so he ignored the calls from the repair shop and the laptop ended up with the fbi.
In answer to Q's question - there's NO way H Biden wouldn't want to reclaim 'knowing' the contents could bury pops and family.
This is just one possible explanation.
If you read the two posts with this theory in mind, it kinda makes sense imho.
Or he left it there on purpose to screw his dad over because he had a troubled family life.
