This is putting into the narrative a pre emptive defence which is going to be used by Perpetrators whose minds have NOT been split.

I have personal experience of PTSD and I can tell you that anyone who has been mindsplit and carried out unspeakable deeds would regard a humane death sentence as a blessing.
