White Coat Summit II Held Over the Weekend in Washington D.C. – Will This Be Censored by Big Tech As Well?

In July a group of doctors met in Washington DC to dispel false beliefs about the China coronavirus. They were immediately condemned and their stories were taken down across social media. These doctors met again this past weekend.

Frontline doctors from across the US held a “White Coat Summit” in July in Washington DC to dispel the misinformation and myths surrounding the China coronavirus. The doctors were very concerned with the disinformation campaign being played out in the far left American media.

From their website they shared: “If Americans continue to let so-called experts and media personalities make their decisions, the great American experiment of a Constitutional Republic with Representative Democracy, will cease.”

Here is a list of the doctors who spoke at that event in July.

On the following Monday after their very popular event Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and Google censored the doctors after they promoted hydroxychloroquine as a life-saving medication in treating the coronavirus.

Dr. James Todaro spoke with the Gateway Pundit at that time and said: “It was a great meeting with VP Mike Pence and his chief of staff where we discussed how we can make hydroxychloroquine available for physicians and patients across the country.”

Court Records Show Google Gives Keyword Searches of Innocent People to Cops

Everyone reading this knows that there are few things on the internet more revealing than their internet search data. It is for this reason that police must seek out a warrant for an actual suspect in order to obtain said data. However, a recently unsealed court document found that government can request such data in reverse order by asking Google to disclose everyone who searched a keyword rather than for information on a known suspect.

To spell it out more clearly, authorities can simply pick a search term and construct a warrant around it without anyone being accused of a crime or being a suspect in a crime, and then Google will simply hand over their data. What could possibly go wrong?

The court files in question that exposed this Orwellian nightmare are from the arrest of Michael Williams, an associate of singer and accused sex offender R. Kelly, for allegedly setting fire to a witness’ car in Florida.

Authorities told Google that they needed information on all “users who had searched the address of the residence close in time to the arson.”

As CNET reports, documents showed that Google provided the IP addresses of people who searched for the arson victim’s address, which investigators tied to a phone number belonging to Williams. Police then used the phone number records to pinpoint the location of Williams’ device near the arson, according to court documents.

While this instance may not seem too intrusive to some, consider the fact of how easily the state was able to obtain search information on completely innocent people.

“This ‘keyword warrant’ evades the Fourth Amendment checks on police surveillance,” said Albert Fox Cahn, the executive director of the Surveillance Technology Oversight Project. “When a court authorizes a data dump of every person who searched for a specific term or address, it’s likely unconstitutional.”

CNET reports:

The keyword warrants are similar to geofence warrants, in which police make requests to Google for data on all devices logged in at a specific area and time. Google received 15 times more geofence warrant requests in 2018 compared with 2017, and five times more in 2019 than 2018. The rise in reverse requests from police have troubled Google staffers, according to internal emails.

Naturally, Google, whose been ensnared in controversy after controversy, released a statement claiming that they protect the privacy of its users — unless of course the government tells them to do otherwise.

Now for the solution. Stop giving Google all these permissions, go through your device’s permissions and disable everything that may let Google collect your information. Stop letting Google record you by disabling the voice recognition. Use browsers like Firefox or TOR or Brave that don’t spy on you. Use search engines like DuckDuckgo.com. Use VPNs and quit paying for internet services that allow third-parties to collect your information.

Unless we reclaim our privacy now, we will be responsible for the insane information dystopia that we create. Please share this article as Google will likely make sure it does not make the front page of its search engine.

Wisconsin Judge Reinstates COVID-19 Restrictions On Restaurants, Bars

After being stymied by state courts over his attempts to tighten restrictions on businesses and movement, Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers finally won a court decision, as a Wisconsin judge on Monday reimposed Evers' order limiting the number of people who can gather in bars, restaurants and other indoor places to 25% of capacity, per the AP.

The initial state order to limit capacity was handed down on Oct. 6 by Andrea Palm, secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, as cases in the state surged. A judge on Oct. 14 blocked the order after it was challenged by the Tavern League of Wisconsin, which argued it amounted to a "de facto closure" order. That finding has now been reversed.

Wisconsin has been one of the leaders of the outbreak in the Midwest, which is at least the third major wave in the US since the start of the pandemic. It ranks among states where hospitalizations are on the rise and new case numbers have climbed to record daily highs.

However, even after rising sharply over the past two weeks, Wisconsin's rate for COVID-19 is still just 9.4% occupancy.

Irish regulator launches 2 probes into Facebook after accusations of failing to protect children’s personal data on Instagram

Ireland is investigating Facebook following allegations that minors could have their phone numbers and email addresses easily exposed on the company’s subsidiary, Instagram.

The country’s Data Protection Commission (DPC) said it will check whether Mark Zuckerberg’s company has “a legal basis for the ongoing processing of children’s personal data” and if it employs “adequate protections” of such data. At the same time, the regulator plans to inspect the “appropriateness” of Instagram’s account settings for children.

The Telegraph newspaper reported on Sunday that the probes were launched in response to claims that Instagram was putting children at risk of grooming or hacking by revealing their contact details. People have to be at least 13 years old to set up an account on Instagram if it is not run by a parent or manager.

Last year, US-based data scientist David Stier analyzed around 200,000 Instagram accounts in multiple countries. He said that children could easily switch their personal profile to business accounts, which had settings that exposed their phone numbers and email addresses to the public. According to reports, this option could be chosen because, unlike personal profiles, it provided statistics such as how popular their photos and videos were.

Facebook said that it has since updated its business accounts so “people can now opt out of including their contact information entirely.”

The company told the media that it is in “close contact” with the DPC and is cooperating with the probes.

No Real Change Can Come If Speech Is Restricted By Monopolistic Oligarchs

In a solid new article titled “Facebook and Twitter Cross a Line Far More Dangerous Than What They Censor” on the cross-platform silencing of The New York Post‘s publication of Hunter Biden’s emails, The Intercept‘s Glenn Greenwald writes the following:

That is always how it will work: it is exclusively the voices on the fringes and the margins, the dissidents, those who reside outside of the factions of power who will be subjected to this silencing. Mainstream political and media voices, and the U.S. Government and its allies, will be fully free to spread conspiracy theories and disinformation without ever being subjected to these illusory “rules.”

Censorship power, like the tech giants who now wield it, is an instrument of status quo preservation. The promise of the internet from the start was that it would be a tool of liberation, of egalitarianism, by permitting those without money and power to compete on fair terms in the information war with the most powerful governments and corporations.

But just as is true of allowing the internet to be converted into a tool of coercion and mass surveillance, nothing guts that promise, that potential, like empowering corporate overloads and unaccountable monopolists to regulate and suppress what can be heard.

Greenwald is correct. The increasingly iron-fisted internet censorship we’ve seen rolled out over the last four years has consistently targeted groups that are oppositional to the status quo with which monopolistic Silicon Valley megacorporations like Twitter, Facebook and Google have aligned themselves.

Monopolistic corporations, historically, do everything they can to maintain their power. Once you’ve reached a certain level of power and influence, this means agreeing to collaborate with existing power structures, like when Google, Facebook and Twitter were called before the Senate Judiciary Committee and instructed to come up with a strategy “to prevent the fomenting of discord”.

“We all must act now on the social media battlefield to quell information rebellions that can quickly lead to violent confrontations and easily transform us into the Divided States of America,” the social media giants were told by think tanker and former FBI agent Clint Watts, who added, “Stopping the false information artillery barrage landing on social media users comes only when those outlets distributing bogus stories are silenced—silence the guns and the barrage will end.”

Wales to be plunged into 2-week ‘firebreak’ lockdown from October 23

The Welsh government had introduced a number of local lockdowns over the course of the last two weeks and a national lockdown had been expected. Drakeford had previously tweeted that they were considering a time-limited ‘fire-break’ to bring the virus back under control.

It was reported on Sunday that the infection rate across Wales was 130.9 per 100,000 people over the previous week. The most afflicted area is the nation’s capital, Cardiff, with 270.1 infections per 100,000, which is substantially below other parts of the UK. Manchester for example, which is currently subjected to very minor restrictions despite the government’s desire to impose a tier three lockdown, has an infection rate of 435.1 per 100,000. Manchester’s mayor has stood firm in opposing a tier three lockdown, claiming London needs to provide more financial support.

China rolls out red carpet for US firms, promising to create fair market environment

China’s industry ministry said on Monday that US companies are welcome to actively participate in its market despite trade tensions between Beijing and Washington. It has promised a fair and just environment.

The announcement by Xiao Yaqing, head of China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, was made during a video meeting of the US-China Business Council.

Executives from companies including General Motors and Qualcomm took part in the meeting, alongside the heads of the council. The participants discussed the market prospects in areas like 5G technology and new energy vehicles, among other issues.

Last month, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce also invited US firms to expand their investment in China, saying that it had worked hard to create a sound environment for the enterprises of the two countries. It noted that Beijing has been earnestly implementing the first phase of the China-US economic and trade agreement.

A recent study by the American Chamber of Commerce found that 92.1 percent of American companies in China have no plans to leave the country, despite the Trump administration’s threats to “decouple” the two nations’ trade.

NY Times Smears NY Post but Can’t Deny Authenticity of Hunter Biden Emails

The far-left New York Times published a lengthy hit piece against the New York Post about the Hunter Biden emails.

Bottom line with yours truly… When it comes to the shady gathering of the truth for the public good, I refuse to play by two separate sets of rules. I refuse to live in a world where it’s okay for the New York Times to make Trump’s tax returns public but not okay to make Hunter Biden’s business emails public.

There are two headlines in the New York Times hit piece…

The first is that the Times does not in any way dispute the authenticity of the emails.

In fact, no one has disputed the authenticity of the emails, including Hunter Biden and Joe Biden and the Biden campaign.

In fact, outlets like Fox News have started to confirm the authenticity of the emails, and if the emails do prove to be authentic (and I believe they are authentic), that means that Joe Biden is the equivalent of a mafia godfather who’s been using his family as a front for decades to sell out his country and enrich himself.

The second headline in the New York Times piece is that the New York Times is not angry because the New York Post story is in some way false or untrue… No, the New York Times is angry because the New York Post is reporting the truth.

You know, a few years back, Breitbart News ran headlong into this phenomenon when we proved Lena Dunham lied in her 2013 memoir about being raped by a college Republican while attending Oberlin College.

After Breitbart News published the Dunham bombshell, we were attacked — not because anything in our story was wrong. No one could dispute the reporting. Even Lena Dunham and her publisher admitted the reporting was on the money. No, what everyone was so angry over was that we dared to report a truth — a truth they did not want told. In other words, they weren’t angry we got the story wrong; they were all angry we got the story right.

We’re seeing the same with the Hunter Biden emails.

No one — and I mean no one — including the Bidens, is disputing the accuracy of the Post‘s reporting. They’re just mad the truth is being reported, or they’re focused on where the emails might have come from and, without any evidence — at least so far, claiming the emails were gained through an illegal hack, maybe even by the dreaded Russians.

Who cares where the material came from?

Who cares?

The only time the media make a point of how the sausage is made is when the media do not want to report on the sausage.

And unlike the New York Times, who just a few weeks ago published President Trump’s private tax returns, the Post detailed exactly how it came into possession of Hunter’s emails.

There is simply no moral difference between publishing Trump’s tax returns and Hunter’s emails.

There is no moral difference whatsoever.

There might be a legal difference. There are federal laws protecting the right of privacy related to tax returns. But if the story behind how Hunter’s emails were obtained is true — that someone dropped off a laptop to be repaired and never came back to pick it up or pay the bill — it doesn’t appear as though any laws were broken.

Nevertheless, a moral difference does not exist.

UK City to Change Statues Which ‘Over-Celebrated Empire, Christianity and “Great” White Men’

An official review of statues in Leeds, England, concluded that they “over-celebrated Empire, Christianity and ‘great’ white men” and should be changed through the use of new public-facing plaques putting them a different context.

Leeds was the site of one of the more dramatic statue vandalisations in Britain as Black Lives Matter unrest swept the country, with an impressive monument to Queen Victoria being defaced with the BLM slogans and pejoratives including ‘racist’, ‘whore’, ‘slag’, and ‘slave owner’ — wholly inaccurately, as the British had abolished the slave trade decades prior to her coronation and spent much of her reign stamping it out globally, at great cost.

The local government responded by announcing a review targeting such British icons as the Duke of Wellington, hero of Waterloo, Sir Robert Peel, founder of the police, and the Black Prince, a medieval royal with no connection to the slave trade or colonialism.

That review, led by Labour politician Alison Lowe, had to conclude that Leeds did not commemorate any major players in the former slave trade, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, but nevertheless found a way to taint them as what the newspaper called “beneficiaries of hereditary wealth and colonialism”.

None will be removed, however, as a public consultation found just 10 per cent of people wanted any change.

‘Whore, Slag, Slave Owner’: Queen Victoria Statue Vandalised with ‘BLM’ Slogans https://t.co/0IEJo6UCxV

— Breitbart London (@BreitbartLondon) June 10, 2020

“I was surprised there were so few people wanted any change… only 10 per cent wanted some active change. I know thousands did not [respond] but we had to take it that they were happy with the status quo,” Lowe told the YEP, perhaps more perturbed than she appeared to let on.

“There was a perception that lots of black people would write in and say ‘get rid of statue X or Y’. That was as a result of the Edward Colston toppling in Bristol which was as a result of George Floyd and Black Lives Matter. There was a belief, no facts, that lots of black people were angry about statues but I had lots of conversations with Black Lives Matters groups and actually people were not really that interested,” she revealed.

It is somewhat surprising, therefore, that the review will recommend the statues are changed with new plaques putting them in a modern context regardless.

“For black people, we live in a world where white voices and white faces and white names predominate. We don’t like it,” Lowe insisted.

“[B]ut there is too much for us to spend our lives looking back saying why is that like that. What happened is, people were much more interested in looking forward… What is important is that we don’t allow stories of the past to stay stories that are untested and unchallenged. We recognise the contribution of immigrants and migrants. Leeds is built on the back of lots of people who don’t get a say in power and are not acknowledged,” she claimed.

“Hopefully through this report black people’s contributions will be more widely acknowledged, recognised and validated.”

Should Hunter Biden Be in Jail? Another Look at the Oglala Sioux Indian Tribe Securities Fraud Case

There’s a mystery about to unfold about Hunter Biden’s connection to an Indian bond fraud scheme that happened from 2014-15, for which some business associates of Hunter Biden have gone to federal prison.

Bottom line: Hunter Biden followed his partner, Devon Archer, into bed with some unabashed Wall Street fraud merchants.

No ifs, ands, or buts — Hunter Biden laid down with dogs and now he’s got fleas.

I wrote two articles last week on the decision by the Second Circuit Court of Appeals reinstating the felony securities fraud conviction of Devon Archer, Hunter Biden’s, main business partner in his Ukraine and Chinese business ventures that seem to have traded on Joe Biden’s position as Vice President.

Devon Archer — Hunter Biden’s Ukraine/China Business Partner — Has Fraud Conviction Re-Instated by Appeals Court and Faces Prison Time

For Hunter Biden’s Ukraine/China Business Partner — Orange Is the New Black

The second article looked into the details of the fraudulent bond deal which left an Indian Tribe saddled with a mountain of debt, and buyers of the Indian Tribe’s bonds the likely possibility that the bonds were worthless and the money they invested has been lost. The scheme was relatively sophisticated, with a lot of moving parts, and involved a variety of “players.”

After the release last week of emails from Hunter Biden’s laptop exposing some of the business schemes he’s been involved in, a person convicted in the Indian Tribe bond fraud, Bevan Cooney, has now made available approximately 26,000 emails in his Gmail account, suggesting there are documents there that implicate Hunter Biden in the Indian bond fraud scheme — and probably a lot more.

Cooney has released the emails because he claims that Hunter Biden improperly escaped accountability and responsibility for his role in the fraud for which seven other people have gone to prison.

I’m going to do a series of articles on this subject — hopefully one a day as time allows.

First, this article will provide an overview of the fraud scheme and the known players.

Second, I’m going to fit this scheme into a timeline of other known events involving Hutner Biden, Devon Archer, and others in their orbit.

Is this another reason the FBI hid the Hunter Biden Laptop?

It didn’t surprise the informed, and understandably a bit cynical, to hear that the FBI sat on Hunter Biden’s laptop instead of seeking justice. The bureau was previously involved in an illegal plot to take down Donald Trump, after all, and its Deep State elements would assuredly love to see Joe Biden succeed him in January. So why would they reveal damning information on their establishment hope? Yet suppressing Huntergate perhaps provided a secondary benefit:

The information could be used against Biden once he was in office.

This wouldn’t be anything new. It’s believed that longtime, legendary FBI director J. Edgar Hoover used “dirt files” on politicians for leverage; for one thing, it’s said, this enabled him to remain bureau head for as long as he wished. William Sullivan, once the number three official under Hoover, put it this way: From the moment the director got damning information on a senator, the man would be “right in his pocket.”

So not only could suppressing Huntergate get Biden in office, but then maybe it’s, “Nice presidency you’ve got there, Mr. Biden — I’d hate to see anything happen to it.”

Since the criminality in question could, apparently, put Hunter in prison along with destroying China Joe, the leverage is profound. It could not only be used to control Biden but also his wife, Jill, in the unlikely event she for a time is able to pull off an Edith Wilson (who supposedly ran the show when Woodrow Wilson became incapacitated). She wouldn’t want to see her stepson in the hoosegow and her family’s reputation ruined, after all.

The leverage could also be used to compel a resignation and clear the deck for Kamala Harris, should elevating her be the Deep State’s desire. Besides, I wouldn’t be surprised if they have dirt on her, too. Given what we know about Harris — sleeping her way to the middle, not prosecuting sex abuse cases involving the rich and powerful, etc. — just imagine what we don’t know.

This, ironically, brings us to one of Trump’s strengths. While the Left has been advancing the projection-based narrative that the president is a corrupt man susceptible to blackmail, he has always struck me as the antithesis of that.

Oh, sure, he’ll use the law to his advantage, as he did with eminent domain (which he touted and is wrong about). As for following the law, though, my read on Trump is that he’s as punctilious about that as he is about germs (he’s a famed germaphobe).

And perhaps this is another reason the Deep State wants Trump gone: You can’t have leverage over a man you can’t get dirt on — and you can’t get dirt on a man who’s fanatical about keeping his hands clean.

At least 15 Portland police officers earned more than $200,000 last year due to overtime amid mass protests, figures reveal

At least 15 Portland police officers were paid more than $200,000 last fiscal year due to overtime amid mass protests, according to a new report.

Captain Mark Kruger, who retired in March, was the highest-paid earner in the Portland Police Bureau after he made $265,225.

The second, third and fourth highest-paid employees were all sergeants whose overtime earnings exceeded their base pay during the fiscal year which ran from the start of July 2019 to the end of June 2020.

But the figures did not include overtime made by officers during the past four months of daily protests in the city which were sparked across the US following the death of George Floyd in May.

The report comes amid calls to reallocate federal funding from police departments toward other local services that could make communities safer - particularly for minorities.

Eight sergeants and two officers were among the top 10 highest overtime earners, according to a wage database obtained by The Oregonian.

Sergeants received an average of $24,943 in overtime closely followed by detectives who earned $20,369 and rank-and-file officers on an average of $13,239 in overtime.

The figures also showed a total of 728 bureau employees - out of 1,272 - made more than $100,000.

In June 2020, there were more than four million receiving overtime pay, which was the single highest month recorded in recent memory.

The rise has been attributed to mass protesting as well as a rise in shootings and a lack of officers.

Sgt. Ken Duilio, who was the third highest-paid officer, said: 'There's a lot of people working a lot of hours because there's just a lot of work to be done, and we're limited on the number of cops we have.'

This sentiment was echoed by the President of the Portland Police Association, Officer Daryl Turner, who blamed the city's elected officials for 'ignoring' their staffing needs.

The latest figures did not include overtime made by officers during the past four months of daily protests in the city.

Riots were sparked across the US in May following the death of 46-year-old George Floyd who choked to death when a white police officer restrained him by kneeling on his neck.

Gross pay and overtime earnings for Portland Police are therefore expected to be even higher this fiscal year, according to the publication.

A method is provided for the acquisition and transmission of biometric data (e.g. vital signs) of a user, where the data is analyzed to determine if the user is suffering from a viral infection, such as COVID-19. The method includes using a pulse oximeter to acquire at least the pulse and the percentage of oxygen saturation of the blood, which is transmitted wirelessly to a smartphone. To ensure the accuracy of the data, an accelerometer is used in the smartphone to measure the movements of the smartphone and/or the user. Once the exact data is acquired, it is uploaded to the cloud (or host), where it is used (either alone or with other vital signs) to determine if the user is (or is likely to be) suffering from an infection. viral, such as COVID-19.

Marine Vet Former Rep. Duncan Hunter to Serve Sentence at West Texas Prison Camp

SAN DIEGO – Former Rep. Duncan Hunter will serve his 11-month sentence for conspiring to misuse campaign funds at a West Texas prison camp, his attorney said Friday.

Hunter is scheduled to report to Federal Correctional Institute La Tuna on Jan. 4. The prison is in the El Paso suburb of Anthony, on the Texas-New Mexico state line. He will serve in its adjacent minimum-security satellite camp, according to CQ Roll Call.

Hunter's attorney, Devin Burstein, on Friday confirmed the report that Hunter had been assigned to the facility.

Hunter fought a 60-count indictment for more than a year before pleading guilty to a conspiracy charge in December.

His wife, Margaret Hunter, pleaded guilty in June 2019 of conspiring with her husband to misuse more than $250,000 in campaign money on personal expenses such as travel, groceries, fast food and private school tuition.

Alan Ellis, a defense attorney who writes the Federal Prison Guidebook, told Roll Call he suspects Hunter is being sent to a facility 10 hours away to get him away from his sphere of influence – something he said is common for high-profile prisoners.

FCI La Tuna also is where former Los Angeles County Sherriff Lee Baca is serving a three-year sentence for obstruction of justice, conspiracy to obstruct justice and making false statements.

Hunter's criminal charges in August 2018 came two-plus years after the Federal Election Commission and The San Diego Union-Tribune questioned Hunter in April 2016 about expenditures his campaign had reported – a series of video-game purchases and a payment to his children's private school.

According to the indictment, the Hunters relied for years on campaign contributions to pay routine family expenses like dental bills, home repairs and fast-food meals. They also used it for exotic vacations, private-school tuition, plane tickets for Margaret's mother to to and from Poland and for flight for a pet rabbit.

Immediately after the indictment, Hunter said the charges were the result of a "deep state" conspiracy among "partisan Democrat prosecutors" and denied any wrongdoing. He continued denying the charges after his wife pleaded guilty and agreed to work with prosecutors.

Then, in December, Hunter decided to plead guilty in order to spare his children the spectacle of a trial, he said. Initially he was scheduled to begin serving his time in May but that was pushed back due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hunter left Congress in January and his seat in the 50th District has been vacant since. Former Republican Rep. Darrel Issa and Democrat Ammar Campa-Najjar are in a tight race to replace him.

Taliban: US Violating Signed Peace Deal With Recent Airstrikes in Afghanistan

US spokesman dismisses warning, says strikes don't violate peace deal

The February 29 Doha Agreement between the US and Taliban was meant to end the war in Afghanistan, and yet might. The deal had a number of provisions, including for the US and Taliban to not fight one another during the process.

It’s not surprising, then, that the Taliban is angry at a recent surge of US airstrikes, mostly in Helmand Province, where the Taliban was fighting the Afghan government, or airstrikes elsewhere in Afghanistan.

This is a recurring issue with the deal, as the Taliban and Afghan government have yet to reach a peace deal, and the US is using supporting the government as an excuse for strikes. Again today, spokesmen denied that they were violating the Doha Agreement with the airstrikes.

Meanwhile, the Taliban has warned of retaliation if the US attacks continue. The only apparent violence from the group came in Ghor Province, where a vehicle bombing killed 15, wounded 150, and damaged several government offices.

US strikes will probably continue to decline despite them wanting to keep doing this to push an intra-Afghan truce, because US troop cuts are continuing and there just aren’t that many to participate in attacks anymore.

Israeli settlers flood Palestinian farmland with sewage

Israeli settlers today flooded Palestinian-owned land with sewage and wastewater in the village of Deir Al-Hatab in Nablus governorate. The flooding has disrupted the local olive harvest.

According to Ghassan Daghlas, a Palestinian official in charge of the settlements’ portfolio in the northern West Bank, settlers from the illegal Israeli settlement of Elon Moreh were responsible for flooding the land and damaging the trees.

He explained that most of this land is planted with olive trees, which means that this year’s crop of olives is threatened.

The olive harvest is the main source of income for thousands of Palestinian families in the occupied territories, but they face many obstacles due to the Israeli occupation. These include Israeli-imposed restrictions on access to the farmers’ own land as well as attacks by the settlers.

Since the olive harvest began in late September, Israel soldiers and settlers have attacked farmers in various places across the occupied West Bank.

Hundreds of thousands of settlers live in 250 settlements in the occupied Palestinian territory, and make life very difficult for the Palestinians living under Israel’s brutal military occupation. Israel occupied the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, in June 1967.

FCC Head and Internet’s Most Hated Man Ajit Pai Just Vowed to Kill First Amendment Rights Online

FCC Chairman Ajit Pai has vowed to reinterpret Section 230 of the Communications Act on President Trump’s orders in a move that threatens to curb what’s left of Americans’ first amendment rights online

Citing “censorship outcry” from the three branches of government, FCC Chairman Ajit Pai announced yesterday via tweet the agency’s intention to move forward with regulation of social media by looking to modify Section 230 of the Communications Act, which protects the likes of Facebook and Twitter from the parts of the U.S. code that opens publishers to legal challenges over the content posted to their platforms, which inevitably puts content creators, themselves, in the cross hairs of the legal system without the benefit of their first amendment rights.

I intend to move forward with an @FCC rulemaking to clarify the meaning of #Section230.

Read my full statement below. pic.twitter.com/LhUz5XMdSC

— Ajit Pai (@AjitPaiFCC) October 15, 2020

Despite claims of bipartisan support for the reform initiative, one of Section 230’s original authors, Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), directly challenged Pai’s authority to change the law altogether. Pai has claimed that FCC lawyers have assured him the agency has legal standing to amend the law.

Meanwhile, FCC commissioner and Democratic party member Jessica Rosenworcel denounced Pai’s timing as “absurd” and decried the Chairman’s decision to kowtow to Trump’s executive order, issued earlier this year calling for the agency to reinterpret the law.

Rosenworcel was confirmed for her second stint as FCC commissioner in August 2017, even though Trump had reportedly withdrawn his nomination of the Obama holdover, likely worried over her track record on the commission and her dissenting opinion on Pai’s scrapping of Net Neutrality soon after Trump’s election.

The Twitter setup

The Chairman’s intention to slap the ‘publisher’ tag on social media companies and make them legally liable for the content that appears on their platforms comes in the wake of the Twitter’s censorship of a New York Post article two days ago, which covered allegations against Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, in the Ukraine oil company scandal.

The article’s purge from the social media platform elicited strong reactions on both sides of the issue and the aisle, including Senator Ted Cruz, who accused Twitter of “election interference.” On Thursday, Republican Senators called for Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey, to be subpoenaed and appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee to answer questions about the company’s actions.

The social media giant has since backtracked, going as far as changing the policy it cited as justification, which “prohibits the use of our service to distribute content obtained without authorization.” Notably, the Department of Homeland Security had released its first-ever Homeland Threat Assessment only days prior, where it declared that “denigrating” Joe Biden constitutes grounds for de-platforming.

Former OPCW Chief Says His Office Was Bugged While USA Pushed Iraq War

In an important new interview with The Grayzone‘s Aaron Maté, the first Director-General of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) has revealed new insights into the way the US exerted control over the Organisation in the lead-up to the Iraq invasion and the suspicious way pro-US narratives appear to be dominating controversies in the supposedly impartial OPCW to this day.

The most significant piece of new information revealed in this interview with the acclaimed former OPCW chief José Bustani is his assertion that while the US was orchestrating his 2002 ouster due to the risk he posed of derailing the Iraq war agenda with successful negotiations, his office was packed with hidden surveillance equipment and that his American head of security vanished immediately after this was discovered.

After noticing suspicious phenomena and leaks coming out of his office, Bustani reports that he sent for a trusted security expert from outside the Organisation to investigate over the weekend.

“The fact was that the wall behind my desk, the wall behind the desk of the Director-General was full of equipment, listening equipment,” Bustani reported. “He broke the whole wall and removed everything, and there were bugs in the drawer, my desk, phone. I was shocked I must say. But he did it immediately. It took him the whole of Saturday, half of the Sunday, he took it [away], he removed everything and nobody realized except me and my wife. On Monday when people came to my office, they were shocked with the way the wall was. It was a big hole.”

“And interesting thing is–and I never said this before–is that I had then a person that was the head of the security of the Organization,” Bustani said. “He used to be an American. He had a large office full of equipment. I called him, the Monday after that happened, I called his office to check with him how come he didn’t know, he was in charge of security of the building, how come he didn’t know that there was such bugging equipment behind me. And he wasn’t there. And I was told that he was traveling to Germany, and I asked then, ‘Who allowed him to go to Germany? I am his direct boss. He was my subordinate, he was directly subordinate to me.’ Nobody could say anything. So I said ‘As soon as he returns tell him I want to have a word with him.’ This was the Monday. You will not believe it Aaron, but on Tuesday as I got to the OPCW I am told that I should go up to the head of security office and when I got there the office was empty, and this person disappeared and never showed up again. Never showed up again.”

This is a major revelation. When you’ve got an American infiltrator covertly surveilling a foreign official to advance US foreign policy agendas, what you have is a US spy. We don’t know what agency that spy would have worked for, but what Bustani is describing is US espionage targeting an international watchdog organisation.

Bustani gave additional insights into the ongoing OPCW scandal surrounding the extremely suspicious practices that were implemented in the investigation of an alleged chemical weapons attack in Douma, Syria in 2018 which preceded airstrikes against the Assad government by the US, UK and France. He stated emphatically that as Director-General he would “never” have allowed the Douma investigation team to be replaced with a “core team” who never went there or permitted a team of inspectors to meet with US officials during an active investigation, as reportedly happened after the Douma incident.

“This would have never happened if I were Director-General,” Bustani said when asked if he’d have allowed a US delegation to lobby them to come to a specified conclusion in their investigation. “The Inspectors know themselves that they cannot. They cannot. They are not supposed to meet with delegations on issues like inspections in particular. I don’t know how it happened, maybe they were forced to or they were led to by… I don’t know how it in practice happened because if I were Director-General this would never happen.”

Human Rights Watchdog Says Governments Using Pandemic To Crack Down On Online Dissent

Governments around the world are using the ongoing pandemic to crack down on online dissent according to a human rights watchdog.

Washington-based Freedom House said dozens of countries have cited CV as a means “to justify expanded surveillance powers and the deployment of new technologies that were once seen as too intrusive.” They added that it marks the 10th consecutive annual decline in internet freedom, Barron’s reported.

The expansion of technological systems is enabling governments social control, according to the report.

“The pandemic is accelerating society’s reliance on digital technologies at a time when the internet is becoming less and less free,” said Michael Abramowitz, president of the nonprofit group.

“Without adequate safeguards for privacy and the rule of law, these technologies can be easily repurposed for political repression.”

China was singled out in the report noting, Chinese authorities “combined low- and high-tech tools not only to manage the outbreak of the coronavirus, but also to deter internet users from sharing information from independent sources and challenging the official narrative.”

The report stated this shows a growing trend toward Chinese-style “digital authoritarianism” globally and a “splintering” of the internet as each government imposes its own regulations for citizens.

Freedom House said that of the estimated 3.8 billion people using the internet, just 20 percent live in countries with a free internet, 32 percent in countries “partly free,” while 35 percent were in places where online activities are not free. The remainder live in countries that weren’t among the 65 assessed.

The report cited declines in countries where authorities have imposed internet shutdowns including Myanmar, Kyrgyzstan and India, and in Rwanda for its use of “sophisticated spyware to monitor and intimidate exiled dissidents.”

Activist Post has previously reported that countries were using the pandemic to shutdown online dissent back in May of this year. Expressing that governments around the world were using fake news to hide behind their online censorship efforts. Hungary is one of the countries that began arresting citizens for allegedly spreading fake news related to the CV pandemic as ordered by Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

Hungary isn’t the only country that is using the CV crisis to push draconian laws on its citizens. Activist Post previously reported early on during the CV outbreak that two individuals were arrested under Thailand’s new “Anti-Fake News Center” for spreading false information about the coronavirus. Malaysia also issued four arrests of its citizens for spreading rumors and “disinformation,” according to a report by Hong Kong’s South China Morning Post. Those “suspects” included a tutor, two pharmacy assistants and a university student whom if found guilty will face upwards to a $12,000 fine and up to 1 year in prison if convicted.

Birx confronted Pence about Atlas

White House coronavirus response coordinator Deborah Birx recently confronted Vice President Pence about the increasing influence of Scott Atlas over the administration’s handling of the pandemic, a person familiar with the exchange confirmed to The Hill.

Birx raised concerns about the information Atlas was giving President Trump and suggested he be removed from the White House coronavirus task force. Atlas is not an infectious diseases expert but has emerged as one of Trump’s most influential advisers on the pandemic.

The exchange was first reported by The Washington Post, which said Pence asked Birx and Atlas to work out the strife on their own and to present data to their colleagues supporting their viewpoints.

Atlas advocates policies that put him at odds with the mainstream of infectious diseases experts and other health officials on the task force.

Most controversially, he praises the herd immunity strategy outlined in a document called the "Great Barrington Declaration," which calls for allowing the virus to spread among lower-risk, younger people to build up immunity while having “focused protection” on older, high-risk people.

Many leading experts have denounced that approach as leading to hundreds of thousands of more deaths as the virus circulates freely. Tom Frieden, the former director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, estimated last week that the herd immunity strategy would lead to at least 500,000 more deaths.

Twitter also removed a tweet from Atlas over the weekend that questioned the effectiveness of masks, which are embraced by leading experts as a way to slow the spread of the virus. "Masks work? NO," Atlas’s tweet began.

As Democrats push to expand testing in talks over a coronavirus response package in Congress, Atlas is also pushing back on the idea, saying testing should be focused on the vulnerable only.

“When you start seeking out and testing asymptomatic people, you are destroying the workforce,” Atlas told The New York Times.

Atlas has established himself as one of the most influential voices in the president’s ear on the pandemic, according to multiple current and former administration officials. Trump has in recent weeks cast doubt on the effectiveness of masks and railed against continued restrictions on economic activity to slow the spread of the virus.

Anthony Fauci, the government’s top infectious diseases expert, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Robert Redfield have both spoken out against Atlas and his ideas publicly or privately.

Redfield was overheard last month lamenting that “everything [Atlas] says is false” during a phone conversation on a flight.

Fauci last week called the herd immunity strategy embraced by Atlas “total nonsense.”

Asked about Atlas’s position and if the White House was open to herd immunity, Fauci did not mention Atlas by name but pushed back in an interview with Yahoo News last week.

As Governor, Hickenlooper Directed Grants to Tech Companies Doing Business in China

Hickenlooper has come under fire for downplaying China threat

Former Democratic Colorado governor John Hickenlooper directed hundreds of thousands of dollars in state grants to technology companies to conduct business in China, including a company that said it would work with participants in a Chinese government program that U.S. officials have linked to economic espionage.

Colorado grant applications obtained by the Washington Free Beacon through a public-records request show Hickenlooper’s administration directed at least $222,000 in state funding to technology companies that were looking to expand their business operations in China. One of these companies, the Denver-based Intelligent Imaging Innovations, received $47,300 in state funding in 2017 and 2018. The company cited a Chinese government foreign-scientist recruitment program called the Thousand Talents Plan—which U.S. officials say has been used as a front for Chinese spy and trade-secret theft operations—in its 2017 funding application that was approved by the Hickenlooper administration.

Hickenlooper, who is running for Senate against Republican incumbent Sen. Cory Gardner, has faced criticism from his opponent for his position on China. On a recent Zoom call with supporters, Hickenlooper praised China as a "great nation" and said the country is not seeking global domination, the Free Beacon reported earlier this month.

Gardner, a staunch China hawk, recently blasted Hickenlooper as a "propaganda tool of the Communist Chinese Party."

In its 2017 grant application, Intelligent Imaging Innovations indicated that it could market its microscope technology to participants in the Thousand Talents Plan.

"Many of our stakeholders are post-doctoral fellows in the US returning to populate positions in [the Asia Pacific region]. The Chinese government, for example, has created the 1000 Talents Plan that encourages repatriation of US experts to the PRC," wrote the company in a section explaining why it believed its microscope technology would be a good fit for the Chinese market.

The Thousand Talents Plan was established by the Chinese government in 2008, with the aim of recruiting foreign-trained scientists, academics, and entrepreneurs to the country. The FBI has said since at least 2018 that China uses the program for economic espionage.

According to U.S. intelligence officials, the Chinese Communist Party has used the program to steal American trade secrets and carry out military and economic espionage operations in the United States.

"Through its talent recruitment programs, like the so-called Thousand Talents Program, the Chinese government tries to entice scientists to secretly bring our knowledge and innovation back to China—even if that means stealing proprietary information or violating our export controls and conflict-of-interest rules," said FBI director Christopher Wray in a July speech to the Hudson Institute. Wray said the program was "targeting research on everything from military equipment to wind turbines to rice and corn seeds."

In recent months, federal prosecutors have brought high-profile cases against numerous individuals for economic espionage and intellectual theft, including scientist Hongjin Tan, who was convicted earlier this year for stealing more than $1 billion in trade secrets from an Oklahoma oil company where he worked.

DOJ Announces Charges Against 6 Russian GRU Hackers Who Will Never See the Inside of a US Courtroom

Assistant US Attorney General for the National Security Division John Demers; Getty Images

The DOJ on Monday announced charges against 6 Russian GRU hackers who will never see the inside of an American courtroom.

The Justice Department indicted members of the Russian military intelligence GRU — the same actors who allegedly attacked the 2016 election (according to Hillary Clinton and the Deep State liars).

“Cybersecurity researchers have tracked the conspirators and their malicious activity using the labels ‘Sandworm Team,’ ‘Telebots,’ ‘Voodoo Bear,’ and ‘Iron Viking,’ ” the DOJ said in a statement on Monday.

The DOJ alleged the GRU hackers launched cyberattacks that damaged Ukraine’s electrical grid and interfered in France’s 2017 elections.

The DOJ also claimed these hackers were using spear-phishing campaigns to disrupt elections in Europe.

“No country has weaponized its cyber capabilities as maliciously or irresponsibly as Russia, wantonly causing unprecedented damage to pursue small tactical advantages and to satisfy fits of spite,” said Assistant Attorney General for National Security John Demers. “Today the Department has charged these Russian officers with conducting the most disruptive and destructive series of computer attacks ever attributed to a single group. … No nation will recapture greatness while behaving in this way.”

The GRU hackers were charged with conspiracy to conduct computer fraud and abuse, conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud, damaging protected computers, and aggravated identity theft in an indictment returned by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh.

One of the Russians charged on Monday, Anatoliy Sergeyevich Kovalev, was also previously indicted by former special counsel Robert Mueller.

What a joke!

The GRU officials are currently in Russia and will likely never see the inside of a US courtroom.

“For more than two years we have worked tirelessly to expose these Russian GRU Officers who engaged in a global campaign of hacking, disruption and destabilization, representing the most destructive and costly cyber-attacks in history,” said U.S. Attorney Scott Brady of the Western District of Pennsylvania.
