Election Interference? Big Tech Censored Trump More Than 60 Times, Left Biden Unscathed

Is Big Tech interfering in the 2020 election? If so, tech companies did not start with the suppression of The New York Post‘s Hunter Biden bombshell story last week — although that act was arguably the most egregious.

Facebook and Twitter have censored President Donald Trump or his reelection campaign 65 times but have not censored Democratic nominee Joe Biden and his campaign a single time, according to a new report from the Media Research Center’s (MRC) Techwatch.

Techwatch analyzed two years of social media posts from Trump, Biden, and their respective campaigns, between May 2018 and October 16, 2020. The analysis did not include any ads from political action committees (PACs) or super PACs in support of Trump or Biden. It also focused on social media posts, not paid advertisements, from the campaigns.

Twitter

Twitter labeled, fact-checked, and removed tweets from the president and his campaign 64 times since Trump’s election in 2016. The company appears to have ramped into high gear this past May.

Twitter put “public interest” notices on Trump’s tweets about mail-in voting, COVID-19, and the Black Lives Matter protests. The company deleted a satirical video retweeted by the president following a fact-check from the Poynter Institute’s PolitiFact. The company also deleted three Trump tweets about hydroxychloroquine on July 28, 2020.

Twitter has also cracked down on memes that Trump tweeted or retweeted. The company removed a meme from his June 30 tweet showing the president saying, “In reality, they’re not after me. They’re after you.” Logan Cook, a meme creator who goes by the handle Carpe Donktum, made a video mocking the Democrats’ reaction to Trump’s 2019 State of the Union address. After Trump retweeted it, Twitter removed the video following a copyright complaint. Twitter also removed a Carpe Donktum video showing two toddlers hugging one another with fake CNN chyrons at the bottom after Trump retweeted it.

In 2017, a Twitter employee deactivated Trump’s account on the employee’s last day at work, leaving the president’s account offline for 11 minutes. The company put a “sensitive content” filter on top of two Trump tweets featuring Drudge Report headlines in 2018.

According to the Daily Beast, Twitter has suspended nearly 10 percent of the unverified accounts Trump has retweeted since his inauguration. “Twitter’s always been fair to me, until the president of the United States retweeted me,” one user told the Daily Beast.

The Trump campaign’s accounts have also faced censorship on Twitter. The platform removed four of Team Trump’s videos and it suspended the Team Trump account for sharing the Hunter Biden story.

Twitter executives have a documented bias against the president.

The company has also taken actions seemingly to protect Biden. It placed a “sensitive content” label on the video of Joe Biden telling Charlemagne tha God that he “ain’t black” if he doesn’t support Biden over Trump.

Facebook

Facebook has censored Trump and his campaign five times and Instagram removed one video.

Facebook removed a video attacking antifa from Trump’s personal page and his campaign’s page, claiming the video violated the platform’s “organized hate policy” by featuring an upside-down red triangle.

Facebook also moved to suppress the Hunter Biden story even before a fact-checker could address its claims.

Also according to MRC, Twitter and Facebook employees have given over 90 percent of their political contributions to Democrats so far in 2020.

While some of Trump’s tweets and retweets arguably took Biden’s quotes out of context, it still seems remarkable that Facebook and Twitter have acted against Trump and occasionally for Biden. On Friday, the Republican National Committee (RNC) filed an FEC complaint, accusing Twitter of giving an “in-kind contribution” to the Biden campaign in censoring the Hunter Biden story. Perhaps the RNC should consider a few other examples, as well.

Neither Facebook nor Twitter responded to PJ Media’s requests for comment.

Exposed: Antonia Hernandez, the Democrats' Soros-Connected Debate Commissioner

Antonia Hernandez, a board member for the Commission on Presidential Debates, has connections to both the Chinese Communist Party and a George Soros-funded group, according to a report released last week by the National Pulse.

This story slipped under most radars, probably due to all the soap-opera theatrics over the canceled presidential debate.

The Pulse’s Natalie Winters wrote:

Hernandez’s position on the Board of Directors of the commission, which has selected a slew of anti-Trump moderators and pushed a debate via Zoom, is curious in light of her ties to the Biden-backing Chinese Communist Party and the Soros-backed Transition Integrity Project which calls for “street fights” to secure a Biden victory.

The highly partisan Transition Integrity Project was first exposed by The National Pulse in early August, after repeatedly making the false claim of non-partisanship, unchallenged by establishment media.

And:

Hernandez’s biography page on the Berggruen Institute site list her as part of the “Berggruen network,” a network which also lists five fellows at Chinese Communist Party-funded universities and two members of the pro-China lobby group and Confucius Institute-sponsoring Asia Society.

The Confucius Institute is a front organization for the CCP, spreading Beijing’s influence in foreign nations, particularly in universities.

Winters goes into quite some depth on Hernandez’s ties to Berggruen, and I highly recommend you read the whole thing.

Hernandez is a lawyer and longtime Democratic activist, who once served on the campaign for Ted Kennedy’s failed 1980 presidential bid.

Hernandez, though, is just the worst example of a presidential debate commission that is useless at best.

The other Commission members include:

• John C. Danforth. The old-school Missouri Republican is probably best described as a NeverTrumper after saying of POTUS: “There hasn’t been a more divisive person in national politics since George Wallace.”

• Charles Gibson of CBS News.

• John Griffen, managing director at Allen & Company, a privately-held boutique investment bank in New York.

• Richard Parsons, the 72-year-old former head of Citigroup. He’s a Republican, but said in 2018 that Trump is “ill-equipped to be the president of the United States” and isn’t “good for any America.”

• Yvonne Hao of Cove Hill Partners, another equity firm, this one in Boston.

• Jane Harman, former Democratic congresscritter from California.

• Olympia Snowe, former Republican senator whose photo you’ll find in the dictionary next to the definition of RINO.

• Newton N. Minow, a 94-year-old Democrat who first served under JFK.

• Notre Dame’s Father John Jenkins.

Putting it as simply as possible, the Commission features a few rabid Democratic operatives, an infotainment industry newsreader (but I repeat myself), some aged politicians of both parties, a couple of Wall Street types, and an ordained Catholic educator.

Raniere Requests New Trial – Relies on Affidavits of Michelle Hatchette & Nicki Clyne

As predicted by the Frank Report, Keith Alan Raniere is requesting a new trial based on what his lead attorney, Marc Agnifilo, has described as “…threats and intimidation by the prosecution, including the abuse or threatened abuse of legal process…” against Michele Hatchette and Nicole Clyne.

According to Agnifilo, Hatchette and Clyne will “provide testimony…that would have challenged material elements of the prosecution’s case and exculpated the defendant…of the most serious charges against him.”

Agnifilo has also requested that U.S. District Court Judge Nicholas G. Garaufis schedule oral arguments regarding the newly-filed Rule 33 motion for a new trial.

Given that only 10-days remain before Raniere is scheduled to be sentenced, the timeframes regarding this motion are extremely tight. Whether to schedule oral arguments is completely at the discretion of Judge Garaufis.

The prosecution is scheduled to submit its response to the motion for a new trial by 5:00 PM on Thursday, October 22nd.

Thus, unless he postpones Raniere’s scheduled sentencing on Tuesday, October 27th, Judge Garaufis will have to review today’s filings and the prosecution’s response – and then perhaps hold a hearing – all within a very limited timeframe.

Report: Biden Economic Policy Will Kill Two Million Jobs

$15 minimum wage hike would slash jobs from women, minorities

One of Joe Biden's top economic policy priorities could kill as many as two million new jobs, a new report finds.

Biden has championed a $15 minimum wage throughout his presidential bid. The Democrat's website touts helping "get state and local laws increasing the minimum wage across the finish line" and calls it "well past time we increase the federal minimum wage to $15 across the country." An analysis from the pro-free market Employment Policies Institute (EPI) found that a nationwide mandate for a $15 minimum wage—more than double the current federal rate of $7.25 per hour—could eliminate millions of jobs within its first six years.

Economists found that those job losses would fall mainly among vulnerable populations, with some of the heaviest cuts coming in low-skill or entry-level positions. Half of the two million jobs lost as a result of the policy will occur in the arts, entertainment, recreation and accommodation, and food services sectors. Texas is projected to be the hardest hit state—losing more than 370,000 jobs by 2027—followed by Pennsylvania, Florida, North Carolina, Ohio, and Georgia. The majority of jobs lost will be those held by women, the report shows.

"Not only are 59 percent of minimum wage jobs held by women and slated to be affected by these wage increases, this means that 1.2 million jobs held by women will be lost by 2027 due to this policy, accounting for 61 percent of total losses," the report says.

EPI managing director Michael Saltsman said the Biden-backed policy would only exacerbate the financial woes of small businesses amid the pandemic.

"Business owners across the country are already facing a great loss after the economic downturn caused by the coronavirus," Saltsman told the Washington Free Beacon. "Increasing labor costs through a federal $15 minimum wage would only bring businesses—and the people they employ—closer to the point of no return."

The report builds on a similar 2019 Congressional Budget Office study by using its most recent economic forecasts, meaning it accounts for the coronavirus pandemic. It uses the Raise the Wage Act as a framework—the legislation calls for a $15 federal minimum wage and $12.60 federal tipped wage by 2027 and was passed by House Democrats in 2019.

Erdogan Claims Russia, US, France Are Arming Armenia, Russia Raises Issue of Pro-Turkish Terrorists in Artsakh

ANKARA/MOSCOW – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan claimed that Russia, the United States, and France are allegedly supplying weapons to Armenia.

“What are they saying about our support to our Azerbaijani brothers? What are the Minsk three – the United States, Russia, France – saying? They support Armenia. They offer all possible support in terms of weapons,” he said on Sunday, TASS reported.

Renewed clashes between Azerbaijan and Armenia erupted on September 27, with intense battles raging in the disputed region of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh). The area experienced flare-ups of violence in the summer of 2014, in April 2016 and past July. Azerbaijan and Armenia have imposed martial law and launched mobilization efforts. Both parties to the conflict have reported casualties, among them civilians.

Following Russian-initiated peace consultations in Moscow, Azerbaijan and Armenia agreed on a humanitarian ceasefire from 11:00 Moscow time on October 10 to exchange prisoners and the bodies of those killed. However, the ceasefire has been violated multiple times since then.

Russia is also raising the issue of pro-Turkish terrorists from Syria and Libya, who are taking part in the Nagorno-Karabakh war, in its contacts with Turkey, and stresses that it is unacceptable to get them involved, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said on Monday.

“Yes, we are discussing all the issues,” the deputy minister told reporters, when asked if this topic was raised at the talks with Ankara, RIA Novosti reported.

When asked if Russia said in these contacts that the use of pro-Turkish terrorists in this conflict was unacceptable, Bogdanov noted, “It goes without saying, of course.”

The conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan over the highland region of Arstakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), a disputed territory that had officially been part of Azerbaijan before the Soviet Union break-up, but primarily populated by ethnic Armenians, broke out in February 1988 after the Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Region announced its withdrawal from the Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic.

In 1992-1994, tensions boiled over and exploded into large-scale military action for control over the enclave and seven adjacent territories after Azerbaijan lost control of them. Talks on the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement have been ongoing since 1992 under the OSCE Minsk Group, led by its three co-chairs – Russia, France and the United States.

US Charges 10 Defendants With Smuggling $50 Million in Apple Products Into Russia

The US Department of Justice charged 10 conspirators with allegedly smuggling more than $50 million in Apple products from the US into Russia by exploiting their relationship with employees of Aeroflot, Russia’s flagship air carrier.

A pair of complaints filed in the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York and unsealed on Monday outline how federal investigators believe 10 people illegally exported more than $50 million worth of Apple devices, including iPhones, Apple Watches and iPads, from the US to Russia. They allegedly did this by smuggling the devices as well as cash via passengers and employees of Aeroflot.

“As alleged, the defendants were members of an international smuggling ring that used a network of operators here and in Russia to circumvent US export laws and regulations,” acting United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York Seth DuCharme said in a Department of Justice release on Monday.

“With today’s arrests, the network has been disabled thanks to the outstanding work of the Eastern District of New York prosecutors who worked tirelessly alongside our agency partners to closely scrutinize the goods and individuals that transit our international borders.”

According to the DoJ, officers executing a search warrant found more than $600,000 in cash and “large amounts of electronic devices” in the place of residence of Marat Shadkhin, one of the 10 charged, at the time of his arrest.

The DoJ release further noted the US Department of State had revoked approximately 113 visas of Aeroflot employees who allegedly participated in the scheme.
