DOJ to File Landmark Antitrust Case Against Google for Abusing Its Online Dominance and Stifling Viewpoints

In late July Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, Google’s Sundar Pichai and Apple’s Tim Cook testified before Congress in the House Judiciary subcommittee on antitrust.

Since 2016 and the election of Donald Trump the tech giants have been censoring and banning conservative voices online. The Gateway Pundit has been a huge target of these liberal tech giants.

Google has virtually purged The Gateway Pundit from its search results.

During Wednesday’s hearing Congressman Greg Steube asked Google CEO Sundar Pichai directly if he is censoring The Gateway Pundit.

Sundar Pichai denied this wasn’t happening.

Rep. Greg Steube: Mr. Pichai I’d like to start with you and I’m just going to illustrate my question with a factual incident that actually occurred to me. Several months ago my wife called and said hey there’s a good article on The Gateway Pundit that you should read. So out of curiosity, I was up here in Washington, and out of curiosity I googled Gateway Pundit. And it didn’t show up on the first page. It didn’t show up on the second page. There were a bunch of different blogging sites on how there were disagreements on what was on The Gateway Pundit. But I actually had to type in TheGatewayPundit.com to get it. Interestingly, Google didn’t allow me to get to the actual website. That was a couple of months ago… This is obviously an issue that conservatives have had. Last week – after this hearing was notice I did the exact same thing from here in the capitol. And wouldn’t you know it. I googled Gateway Pundit and that was the very first website that came up! Now this isn’t from a constituent in my district. This isn’t from somebody telling me. This isn’t a news report. I actually did this on my laptop here in the Capitol. Several months ago and then today. So clearly something had happened between not being notified that you would be appearing before our committee and then last week knowing that you would be appearing before our committee and suddenly conservative websites are now at the top of the bar when you search for them. So was there anything done at Google from a couple months ago and last week and the week before you appearing today that has changed your approach to silencing conservative websites?

Sundar Pichai: Um, Congressman, um, we approach our work with a deep sense of responsibility in a non-partisan way. We want to serve all of our users no matter where we are in fact it’s in our business incentive to do so.

Rep. Steube demanded that Google give him an explanation within two weeks.

However, instead of altering its practices and censorship of conservative voices since this hearing Big Tech have doubled down on their efforts to silence conservative voices in America.

On Tuesday the DOJ is expected to file a lawsuit alleging Google has been abusing its online dominance in search results in order to stifle competition and harm consumers.

Hours before Politico reported the existence of a letter signed by '50 former senior intelligence officials' who say the Hunter Biden laptop scandal "has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation" - providing "no new evidence," while they remain "deeply suspicious that the Russian government played a significant role in this case," Tucker Carlson obliterated their (literal) conspiracy theory.

According to the Fox News host, he's seen 'nonpublic information that proves it was Hunter's laptop,' adding "No one but Hunter could've known about or replicated this information."

Despite Being Responsible for Thousands of COVID Deaths in New York Nursing Homes, Crazy ‘Killer Cuomo’ Releases Book Claiming His Efforts Were Mostly Successful

Back in May we reported that New York’s Governor Andrew Cuomo, Health Commissioner Howard Zucker, MD and Executive Deputy Commissioner Sally Dreslin’s actions led to thousands of deaths in New York state.

In response Cuomo is releasing book lauding his COVID accomplishments.

Yaacov Apelbaum at the Illustrated Primer shared that these New York politicians are accountable for thousands of nursing home deaths because of their insane directives related to the China coronavirus.

Apelbaum first pointed out the ludicrous directive from New York’s Department of Health, including:

During this global health emergency, all NHs [nursing homes] must comply with the expedited receipt of residents returning from hospitals to NHs.

No resident shall be denied re-admission or admission to the NH solely based on a confirmed or suspected diagnosis of COVID-19. NHs are prohibited from requiring a hospitalized resident who is determined medically stable to be tested for COVID-19 prior to admission or readmission.

DEBUNKED! Wikipedia Editors Back Bidens, Stifle Dissent

After the New York Post published damning emails proving that Joe Biden was involved in son Hunter's business with Burisma before he threatened the government of Ukraine if they didn't fire their chief prosecutor during an active investigation of the the energy giant, a war has broken out behind the scenes at Wikipedia - where activist editors claim, with no evidence, that the Ukraine scandal has been 'debunked.'

What's more, any dissent challenging the 'debunked' status has been repeatedly dismissed, and changes by editors writing that the Ukraine scandal is an open issue have been reverted to 'debunked,' and the authors admonished.

As RT notes (which surely means Putin is meddling with Wikipedia's 'ministry of truth'), "In recent days, Wikipedia editors have been engaged in regular spats about the inclusion of the word “debunked.”"

Also notable is that one Wikipedia editor who has frequently contributed to Hunter's page, 'Soibangla,' had previously tweaked Jeffrey Epstein's page to say that there's "no evidence" that Bill Clinton was friends with the dead pedophile - despite the former President having traveled on Epstein's 'Lolita Express' at least 26 times according to flight logs, while witnesses claim to have seen Clinton on 'pedo island' hanging out with 'two young girls.'

Curiously, the same Soibangla is one of the top authors on a new Wikipedia page titled, ‘Biden–Ukraine conspiracy theory’. The page was created on October 15, the day after the Post published Hunter’s alleged email history. The article calls the controversy “a series of false allegations” and references an almost identical list of eight sources to back it up. -RT

Wikipedia editors have been fighting over Hunter Biden since at least December 2019, when as RT notes, the word 'debunked' was added to the Ukraine scandal during the Trump impeachment.

It kicked off again on September 30, when user ‘Php2000’ removed ‘debunked’, noting that “Sources state [Hunter Biden] was making 50,000 USD a month as a board member in Ukraine gas company. Hardly ‘debunked.’”

Just two minutes later, according to the website’s timeline, editor ‘Billmckern’ reverted the change, adding, “it’s been debunked and we have consensus language here.”

Php2000 once again deleted the word, explaining that Hunter Biden making a lot of money in Ukraine was a well-documented fact. “What exactly has been debunked?” they asked. “Read the references,” wrote Billmckern a mere four minutes later, once again restoring the controversial phrasing. -RT

Meanwhile, nobody from the Biden camp has denied the authenticity of Hunter's emails.

Rockland, New York Officials Will Begin Patrolling Streets and Handing Out Fines Up to $15,000 for Violating COVID Regulations

Rockland County announced this week that local officials will begin patrolling streets and handing out fines to individuals up to $15,000 for violating coronavirus regulations.

News 12 reported:

Beginning today, members of the new task force will begin patrolling Rockland’s red zone areas.

Ramapo town employees are joining forces with the state to crack down on non-compliance of COVID-19 safety guidelines in Rockland County, especially in the designated red zone areas.

Beginning today, members of the new task force will begin patrolling Rockland’s red zone areas. Six employees have gone through training to become part of a COVID-19 enforcement task force and have the ability to hand out fines of up to $15,000.

According to Ramapo town officials, the employees are from code enforcement and parking enforcement, with at least one person fluent in Yiddish.

Due to a spike in COVID-19 cases, Gov. Andrw Cuomo launched enforcement zones, or red zones that included portions of Ramapo. The Village of Spring Valley, located within Ramapo, saw one of the biggest spikes in the state.

As a result, strict regulations were issued, schools were closed, and religious gatherings limited to just 10 people. All have been designed to stop the spread of the virus. But, non-compliance has been a problem.

News 12 cameras also captured multiple schools in red zone areas open last week, and have received pictures from viewers showing children on buses in Spring Valley.

The ‘Commission on Presidential Debates’ Has Secret Donors Providing Millions in Dark Money and a New 3rd Board Member Who Pushes Socialism Around the World

The clearly-corrupt and rigged Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) is a private and secretive charitable nonprofit (NFP) corporation which has had a monopoly upon the presentation of Presidential debates to the American public for 32 years, since the 1988 debates. A February 19, 1987 New York Times article, citing Paul G. Kirk Jr., the Democratic national chairman, and Frank J. Fahrenkopf Jr., the Republican national chairman, tells the history of the founding of this Commission:

The two major political parties today announced the creation of a bipartisan commission to sponsor Presidential debates in the 1988 general election campaign … Turning over the sponsorship of Presidential debates to the two major parties was the main recommendation of the National Commission on Elections, a bipartisan group that studied the election process in 1985.”

The CPD, as a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit corporation, is REQUIRED by law and IRS regulations to be nonpartisan. The CPD’s form of nonpartisanship has required an absolute and equal balance between these two political parties in ALL of its corporate operations. Anything other than that would skew this nonprofit into immediate partisan territory, threaten its nonprofit, tax-exempt status, and serve to interfere in, influence, and even corrupt the election process for the U.S. president. To lend an air of decorum and credibility, this Commission even lists former U.S. presidents as Honorary Co-Chairs: Presidents Carter, Bush and Obama, still with us; Presidents Gerald Ford and Ronald Reagan, no longer with us. Curiously, Presidents Bush and Obama were only added to this list on September 10, 2019.

In reality, the CPD in 2019 and 2020 has become a well-camouflaged Democrat/progressive and RINO/Never-Trumper wolf in sheep’s clothing. This nonprofit has been secretly co-opted and it is absolutely operating as a partisan, politicized nonprofit, in direct conflict with the IRS mandates required of it as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charity. Its board and management work hard to maintain the pretense of non-partisanship, while keeping its true, partisan activities hidden from the public. The camouflage of a nonpartisan, fair and impartial organization with a historic, stately, noble purpose serves to hide the vicious, partisan politics actually running the show.

Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway Fined For Violating Iran Sanctions

While 'shocking' headlines these days are becoming so ubiquitous as to become numbing to market participants, news that Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway has agreed to a $4.1 million settlement after a subsidiary in Turkey appeared to violate U.S. sanctions on Iran, perhaps wins the day (so far).

The US Treasury Department enforcement release explains that Berkshire Hathaway has agreed to pay $4,144,651 to settle its potential civil liability for trade-related transactions and exports to Iran engaged in by its indirectly wholly owned Turkish subsidiary, Iscar Kesici Takim Ticareti ve Imalati Limited Sirket (“Iscar Turkey”).

Iscar Turkey sold cutting tools and related inserts to two third-party Turkish distributors knowing that such goods would be shipped to a distributor in Iran for resale to Iranian end-users, including several entities later identified as meeting the definition of the Government of Iran, in violation of Berkshire’s compliance policies. Iscar Turkey took steps to obfuscate its dealings with Iran, including concealing these activities from Berkshire.

Treasury explains that Iscar Turkey’s conduct in this matter, as further detailed below, represents particularly serious apparent violations of the law calling for a strong enforcement action.

From on or about December 2012 to on or about January 2016, Iscar Turkey, through the actions of certain employees, knowingly engaged in transactions, directly or indirectly, with persons subject to the jurisdiction of the Government of Iran that would have been prohibited pursuant to the Iranian Transactions and Sanctions Regulations, 31 C.F.R. part 560 (ITSR), if engaged in by a U.S. person or in the United States. Specifically, Iscar Turkey sold cutting tools and related disposable inserts to two Turkish intermediary companies knowing that those goods would be supplied to an Iranian distributor for resale to Iranian end-users, including several end-users later identified by Berkshire as meeting the definition of the Government of Iran. Iscar Turkey completed 144 orders of goods that were ultimately resold and shipped to Iran with a total transactional value of $383,443 in apparent violation of § 560.215 of the ITSR (the “Apparent Violations”). Additionally, Iscar Turkey purchased goods produced by other Berkshire subsidiaries to fulfill orders destined for Iran.

The Apparent Violations occurred under the direction of certain Iscar Turkey senior managers despite Berkshire and other Berkshire subsidiaries’ repeated communications and policies sent to Iscar Turkey regarding U.S. sanctions against Iran and the application of the ITSR to Iscar Turkey’s operations. The General Manager for Iscar Turkey reportedly believed it was inevitable that U.S. and European Union sanctions against Iran would be lifted, and sought to be well positioned to sell in the Iranian market. To capitalize on this potential easing of sanctions, the General Manager for Iscar Turkey established in 2012 a small-volume commercial relationship with an Iranian distributor so that, if sanctions against Iran were eased, Iscar Turkey would be well positioned to expand its sales to Iran. The General Manager and his employees took certain steps to conceal Iscar Turkey’s activities and plans with Iran such as: utilizing private email addresses that bypassed the controls and visibility of the corporate email system to communicate about orders from Iranian customers; utilizing false names in internal records of Iscar Turkey to conceal transactions; providing false assurances in response to compliance inquiries; providing fraudulent evidence of a compliance training session; and, when the internal investigation was initiated, lying to interviewers and counseling others to lie.

'He's Got To Act': President Trump Calls On AG Barr To Investigate Biden Laptop Scandal

President Trump on Tuesday urged Attorney General William Barr to investigate the Hunter Biden laptop scandal and release his findings before Election Day.

"This is major corruption and this has to be known about before the election," said Trump in an interview on "Fox & Friends." "We have got to get the attorney general to act. He’s got to act and he’s got to act fast, he's got to appoint somebody" the president added.

When asked how his campaign is going, he replied "It's just going very well," adding of Biden: "I think he’s imploding, you look at all that corruption in his family, tremendous corruption."

Hunter Biden dropped three MacBook computers off at a Delaware computer repair shop in April of 2019, signed a work order for 'data recovery,' and then never picked them up after the owner says he tried to contact the former Vice President's son. Contained within Hunter Biden's emails is evidence that Joe Biden was involved in leveraging his office in pay-for-play favors, including with Ukrainian energy giant Burisma - which thanked Hunter for the 'opportunity' to meet his father in 2015, before Joe forced Ukraine to fire their top prosecutor investigating the company.

Several photographs of Hunter Biden in compromising situations were also discovered - including one with a crack pipe hanging out of his mouth. There are also rumors of child pornography, a rumor seemingly supported by the fact that an FBI subpoena for the drive(s) was filed by the agency's top child porn investigator.

Democrats, most prominently Rep. Adam Schiff of California, have suggested without evidence that the emails are part of a Russian disinformation campaign - an assertion that Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe vigorously pushed back against.

"Hunter Biden’s laptop is not part of some Russian disinformation campaign," Ratcliffe said Monday. "Let me be clear: The intelligence community doesn’t believe that because there is no intelligence that supports that. And we have shared no intelligence with Adam Schiff, or any member of Congress," he added.

"It’s funny that some of the people who complain the most about intelligence being politicized are the ones politicizing the intelligence," Ratcliffe continued. "Unfortunately, it is Adam Schiff who said the intelligence community believes the Hunter Biden laptop and emails on it are part of a Russian disinformation campaign."

The Bidens have not challenged the authenticity of the emails.

Why Do We Put So Much Faith In Central Bankers?

Well-known management consultant Peter Drucker perfectly described the predicament faced by central bankers.

"You can’t manage what you can’t measure.”

So why do we put so much faith in central bankers?

Initially, central banks were conceived as the lenders of last resort for the banking system, but in the words of economist Pascal Hügli, they have mutated into “dealers of last resort.” They are the fire department called in to put out the world’s economic fires.

The Federal Reserve’s response to the coronavirus pandemic is what we’ve come to expect from our central banks. The Fed almost immediately cut interest rates to zero and then launched QE infinity, buying up trillions in Treasury bonds and mortgage-backed securities. But it didn’t stop there. It set up lending programs, buying risky small business loans, and even dipping its hand into the stock market.

As the governor of the Bank of Canada put it, “A firefighter has never been criticized for using too much water.”

Some would argue central banks are using gasoline to fight the fire instead of water. Peter Schiff made this very point during an interview on Fox Business as the stock market tanked in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Everything the Fed has done since the 2008 financial crisis has only exacerbated the problems that created that crisis, which is why we’re on the precipice of a much larger one and why the pricking of this bubble is so risky. And if the Fed, of course, goes back to the drawing board and just cuts rates again, all it’s doing is throwing gasoline on the fire that it lit.”

Nevertheless, mainstream faith in central banking remains unshakable, even as the Fed and other central banks balloon their balance sheets to unprecedented levels. Hügli noted that even if some economists question the wisdom of central bank intervention, the general opinion seems to stand firm.

Central banks are without alternative, being the only actors that can stem the tide of economic and financial destruction. They have no choice but to intervene and bloat their balance sheets, the common understanding goes.”

The question remains: why should we put our faith in the central bankers?

In an article published by the Mises Wire, Hügli argues that we shouldn’t – not because central bankers aren’t smart, highly competent people, but because they are trying to do what Drucker called impossible – measure the unmeasurable.

Our economy, like so many other ‘things’ in life, is a complex adaptive order. Variables are unknown, and even if they were known at some point in time, because of the adaptive nature of the system, variables constantly change unexpectedly, making precise measurement virtually impossible.”

Sweden bans use of Huawei, ZTE equipment in 5G networks

A Swedish regulator on Tuesday banned the use of telecom equipment from Chinese companies Huawei and ZTE in its 5G networks. The move comes ahead of the spectrum auctions scheduled to start on 10 November.

The Swedish Post and Telecom Authority (PTS) has examined applications and approved four companies for participation in the 3.5 GHz and 2.3 GHz auctions. New legislation that came into force in January demanded the regulator consult the Swedish armed forces and the security service to ensure that the use of radio equipment in these bands will not “cause harm” to the country’s security.

And according to PTS, new installations for radio use in those frequency bands “must not be carried out with products from the suppliers Huawei or ZTE.” If existing infrastructure for central functions is to be used, “products from Huawei and ZTE must be phased out [by] 1 January 2025 at the latest.”

Central functions are equipment used to build the radio access network, the transmission network, and the core network, as well as their service and maintenance.

Participants in the auctions were also warned that dependencies on foreign states must be phased out or be replaced by functions or staff based in Sweden.

The move may benefit rival firms Ericsson and Nokia, and it comes amid pressure on European states from Washington to review the role of Chinese companies. The US says that Huawei in particular could hand over data to the government in Beijing for spying purposes – a claim denied by the company.

Ties between Sweden and China have deteriorated in recent years, in part over the detained Chinese-born Swedish publisher Gui Minhai.

In September, Sweden’s state-owned space company reportedly announced it would not renew contracts with China or accept new Chinese business, citing “changes in geopolitics.”

London gives Covid-hit Manchester Tuesday deadline to accept tier-three lockdown, as leaders accuse govt of ‘spinning’ data

Leaders in Greater Manchester have accused the British government of trying to force them to agree to the strongest possible Covid-19 restrictions using “selective” hospital data, after London set a deal deadline for noon Tuesday.

UK Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick has said that if the deal between the British government and the local leaders in Greater Manchester, including Mayor Andy Burnham, isn’t inked by 12 p.m. Tuesday, then it would be up to Prime Minister Boris Johnson to decide whether to impose a tier-three lockdown on the area.

“I've written this evening to the mayor of Greater Manchester and to local leaders in the city region to say that, if we're not able to reach an agreement by noon tomorrow, then - with deep regret - I'll have to advise the prime minister that we're not able to reach an agreement at this time,” Jenrick said on Monday evening, after the negotiations with local leaders hit another snag.

Asked whether Johnson would enforce the lockdown single-handedly if the last-minute effort to flesh out an agreement falls through, Jenrick said that it will be “a matter for the prime minister to decide.”

While London continues to insist that the financial assistance it offered to the virus-stricken area of Greater Manchester is “proportionate” to the support earmarked to other regions, such as Lancashire and the Liverpool City Region, local leaders accuse the British government of backtracking on their promise of more relief.

In a joint statement with the head of the Manchester City Council, Richard Leese, the mayor said that the city administration “had been encouraged by earlier discussions,” which proposed setting up a “Hardship Fund” on top of furlough payments and unemployment aid.

“It was both surprising and disappointing when this idea was taken off the table by the Secretary of State,” they said.

In addition to the claims that the Johnson cabinet walked out on its earlier promise, Burnham and Leese accused the government of trying to put a spin on hospital data in order to stoke fears about the severity of the outbreak.

“We are disappointed that the Government has today sought to raise public concern about the NHS in Greater Manchester with selective statistics,” the leaders said. They argued that the area’s ICU occupancy rate was “not abnormal for this time of the year” and was “comparable to the occupancy rate in October 2019.”

Chinese billionaires boost their fortunes at record pace despite coronavirus crisis

Covid-19 has not stopped China’s super-rich from making more money. Thanks to booming share prices and new stock listings, they now own a combined fortune of $4 trillion – a sum greater than the economy of Germany.

This year has seen the biggest wealth increase in the 22-year history of the Hurun China Rich List, according to researcher Rupert Hoogewerf, the founder of Hurun Report and ‘godfather’ of the rating. The list includes the wealthiest people in China – those whose fortunes exceed two billion yuan, or nearly $300 million.

“Stock markets booming and a flurry of new listings have minted five new dollar billionaires in China a week for the past year. The world has never seen this much wealth created in just one year,” Hoogewerf said in a statement on Tuesday.

Charges against a Michigan barber who gained national attention by defying Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's coronavirus lockdown orders and opening his shop have been dropped, a lawyer said Monday.

"Our client's thrilled and pleased that he's been vindicated," said David Kallman, an attorney for barber Karl Manke.

Manke, 77, made headlines across the United States for his dauntless resistance to Michigan's strict business regulations and pandemic lockdown orders when he reopened his Owosso barber shop last May. He vowed that he would keep his shop open "til Jesus comes," arguing that the state could not take away his livelihood.

"I feel the governor is not my mother, never has been," Manke said at the time. "As a matter of fact, this administration, for the most part, I've been in business longer than they've been alive."

In response, the state attempted to prosecute Manke for violating the governor's order — issuing a cease and desist order, filing two misdemeanor charges against him, and suspending his license — leading to an outpouring of support from like-minded Americans who opposed the lockdowns.

Many drove to Manke's shop from all over Michigan to have their hair cut while state regulations ordered other barber shops and salons closed. Manke even inspired a protest at the state capitol, where fellow barbers gave free haircuts to the demonstrators. State police cited a number of barbers and stylists for their actions that day. Manke's folk hero status and entrepreneurial instincts helped him become something of a pop culture icon, selling books, T-shirts with his likeness, and coffee mugs declaring him to be "America's barber." Supporters even set up a GoFundMe for Manke, raising $88,000.

Manke's license was temporarily revoked after he reopened his shop, but the attorney general's office filed a motion to restore his license in June.

The charges filed against Manke were dropped after the Michigan Supreme Court on Oct. 2 found that Whitmer's executive orders were unconstitutional. The court said Whitmer's lockdowns were an "unlawful delegation of legislative power to the executive branch in violation of the Michigan Constitution."

"Based on that ruling, we didn't feel the charges could go forward," said prosecutor Scott Koerner.

"It is definitely a weight off my shoulders," said barber Karl Manke. "I just want to earn a living, and I am not a health threat to anyone."

Manke's attorney noted that state regulators still have a complaint against Manke's license pending and that his firm has asked Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel to dismiss that as well.

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani has come under heavy fire over his process for releasing alleged Hunter Biden emails, and he explained his method in an exclusive interview with the Daily Caller.

Giuliani sat down with Senior White House correspondent Christian Datoc to discuss why he hadn’t simply released the entire trove of evidence contained in the laptop Biden allegedly owned. Critics have argued Giuliani is dripping out the hard drive’s contents as a means to maximize its effect on the presidential election. Giuliani argues the slow release is an attempt to control the conversation and catch critics in “lies.”

“We’re gonna be in control of putting it out, and we’re gonna catch them in lies, which we have already done,” Giuliani said. “We’re gonna catch them in more lies, and by the time 10 days is out you’ll have the whole thing.”

The first report from the alleged Biden hard drive was published in the New York Post on October 14, putting the potential final release at this Saturday, according to Giuliani’s timeline.

Report: Facebook Successfully Suppressed Reach of NY Post Biden Bombshell by Half

A recent study by the social media engagement tracking firm Newswhip found that the New York Post’s recent bombshell story on Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, and their alleged deal with Burisma had its reach cut in half by Facebook compared to anti-Trump stories from other publications. This stands in stark contrast to Twitter’s efforts to censor the story, which actually doubled the attention it received according to the MIT Technology Review.

Newsweek reports that social media tracking firm Newswhip recently analyzed the engagement that the New York Post’s bombshell story on Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden received across social media.

Breitbart News recently reported on the New York Post’s story that indicated that Joe Biden may have met with an adviser to the board of Burisma while he was Vice President, arranged by his son Hunter, who was working as a lobbyist for the company at the time. Joe Biden has previously said, “I have never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings.”

However, the leaked emails appear to show that Hunter introduced his father to a Bursima executive less than a year before Biden, acting as Vice President, pressured the Ukrainian government into firing a prosecutor who was investigating the company. Shortly after the story broke, many found themselves having trouble sharing it across social media. This censorship comes just weeks after executives from both Facebook and Twitter joined the Biden transition team.

The data on the story’s engagement across social media compiled by Newswhip shows that roughly 1.94 million people engaged with the Post’s story in the first 24 hours after it was published. As of Sunday, around 2.12 million readers had engaged with the story.

But, by comparison, when the Atlantic published a story which alleged that President Trump referred to fallen soldiers as “losers and suckers,” 3.69 million readers engaged with the story on Facebook in the first 24 hours As of Sunday, 6.86 million people had read the story. The New York Times article on the President’s tax returns received around 4.12 million engagements in the first 24 hours while 5.37 million have read it as of Sunday. The New York Times story on Trump’s taxes also had engagement numbers similar to the Atlatnic’s Trump smear. Unlike the Biden bombshell, Facebook did not publicly say that it would suppress or otherwise influence the engagement of the anti-Trump stories.

Breitbart News reported extensively on attempts by social media firms to censor the Post’s story. Unlike Twitter, Facebook did not outright prevent users from sharing the story but it did flag it to its fact-checkers to review, when one of these stories is deemed “false” it causes views of an article to plummet by around 80 percent.

A photograph has emerged showing former Vice President Joe Biden posing with oligarch Kenes Rakishev of Kazakhstan, who once reportedly explored business with Biden’s son, Hunter Biden.

The photo (above), first published last year at an anti-corruption website called the Kazhakhstani Initiative on Asset Recovery (KIAR), purports to show Hunter Biden and Joe Biden, together with Kazakhstan’s former prime minister, Karim Massimov, at far right.

At far left, the photo shows Kenes Rakishev, described as “a relative and junior partner of [oligarch] Timur Kulibayev.”

Rakishev’s personal website identifies him as an “international businessman, investor and entrepreneur.” It adds that he is “regarded as one of the most influential businessmen in Kazakhstan,” with “business interests spanning technology, oil & gas, finance, shipbuilding, and metals & mining industries.”

Rakishev and Hunter Biden once reportedly explored business opportunities together. The UK Daily Mail reported Oct. 16:

The Mail can reveal that between 2012 and 2014, Hunter worked as a sort of go-between for Kenes Rakishev, a self-styled ‘international businessman, investor and entrepreneur’ with close family connections to the kleptocratic regime of his homeland’s despotic former president Nursultan Nazarbayev.

Emails passed to this newspaper via anti-corruption campaigners from the Central Asian country reveal that Biden Jr held extensive meetings with Rakishev, who was looking to invest a portion of his personal fortune in New York and Washington DC. He also travelled to the Kazakh capital of Astana to hold business discussions.

Hunter Biden then attempted to persuade Rakishev to buy into a Nevadan mining company, brokering a series of meetings with the firm, before convincing him to invest a cool million dollars with Alexandra Forbes Kerry, the film-maker daughter of Democrat Senator and former Presidential candidate John Kerry.

The Daily Mail also reported that Hunter Biden and Rakishev became friends, and that Hunter Biden traveled to Astana (now Nur-Sultan), the capital of Kazakhstan. The two also “dined together at luxury restaurants in New York and Washington DC,” the Daily Mail noted.

Rakishev was recently named in a U.S. Senate report into Hunter Biden’s foreign business activities, which noted that the oligarch gave $142,300 to Devon Archer, Hunter Biden’s business partner, ostensibly for a car:

Archer received $142,300 from Kenges Rakishev of Kazakhstan, purportedly for a car, the same day [in 2014] Vice President Joe Biden appeared with Ukrainian Prime Minister Arsemy Yasenyuk and addressed Ukrainian legislators in Kyiv regarding Russia’s actions in Crimea.
