If an ex-Bush guy was acting optically right, that might hurt the plan. We'll see in the end. Can't convince people we have a swamp problem if the people who look most like the swamp don't act like it too. Can't convince the people that the FBI and CIA are no good and need to go if they don't act in accordance with/prove your claim.
I still have much conviction he's the right guy to be there, whatever the optics are/turn out to be. This ain't no rinky-dink operation. Full control.
