Sometime early on in the beginning of the "New Top Gear's" run (Clarkson's run), he became curious as to why–if he backed far enough away from his car and pressed the key button, it failed to work; but if he were to hold the key to his head and press the button, the lights would blink, the horn would honk and the door would lock.
So they asked the viewers, if they knew what was happening, to write in and tell them; and there was never a word breathed about it ever again! I think that was also when they stopped asking so much for viewers to write in; I believe, and it's just me–somebody contacted them, and made it perfectly clear that this was never to be talked about again, and maybe it would be a good idea to just sort of start to forget to ask any more viewers to write in about anything
