Did we ever figure out why POTUS stopped in HI early after the Asia trip?

My latest theory is a rogue ship/sub was en route to intercept POTUS on AF1 (missile attack).

POTUS got to HI first and then all other ships/planes/subs have to keep a safe distance.

Q suggests a rogue missile was launched in SA during the crackdown. Could have been from a rogue ship or sub.
