My church pastor growing up runs a Christian devotional/website/news blog, and recently posted this article:

The article is full of false or wrong information, and I'm just wondering why he would write this. He's a very intelligent person, but being a public figure I can also see how this would be the safe route for him to take in addressing Q. I certainly hope that's the reason behind this blatantly misleading article. I hate to think of the implications if he is a part of the coordinated efforts to attack us.
I know this is a very specific article to ask about, but my parents both respect him very much. It will be difficult to convince them of much while this is his view on our movement.
