IMO, as great as that Bears defense was, they still needed a QB to direct the office - and he was perfect in that role. What has gotten lost over the years is that that Bears defense was pretty good, too. They had running back depth, a few speedy recievers, and a QB that knew what to do. If he doesn't get body slammed in 1986 the Bears repeat.
