Well dang, I’m a NC native who loves NC history and I’ve never heard this tidbit of information. Thank you for posting it. Also, don’t forget that Virginia Dare was the first child to be born in America (from the colonists) and she was “ lost” with the rest of the group. There is an outdoor drama called The Lost Colony that depicts this.
