Yep, don't gotta love 'em, but you'd damned well better respect them. I got the talk from my Dad and brought it up to date for my sons. If I had had daughters, they would have gotten "the talk" too. It's not about being black, it's about preparing your kid for what might lie on the road ahead. Good parents do it. Apparently bad ones leave things to chance. I told my sons that if I thought the cop was wrong, I'd bail them out immediately. I also told them that if I thought that THEY were being jerks, I'd let them cool their heals at least overnight.
