It wasn’t in a speech. It’s anecdotal at best, but might not have been said at all, except perhaps in private to Bobby. The NYT reported it at some point, claiming it was said to one of the JFK admin’s highest officials, but that may just be mis/disinfo. Like many supposed quotations that do the rounds, it has no solid attestation or attribution. Sounds plausible, but nothing to hang your hat on.

Sadly, most people live with worldview-dictating normalcy bias, which prevents them from ever understanding the true nature of reality.
Sadly, to others it has been given to see and to apprehend the multifarious manifestations of evil. Without the nearness of the Spirit of God such knowledge would destroy the psyche. I would not wish that burden on anyone; but occasionally I wish those whose minds are untainted by knowledge of systemic spiritual evil might at least entertain the possibility that ultimate reality is not as they suppose it to be.
