Russia Today says It all started with a prank anonymous post on 4chan, and now QAnon is having a real effect on how people vote in the US election.

The umbrella group for wide-ranging fringe conspiracy theories is having more than a negligible impact on people’s political outlook – and not just in America. In the most bizarre of times, people across the world have started to buy into these unfounded theories – so much so that many actually pledge an oath to QAnon.

But why the popularity? Especially when the FBI identified QAnon as a potential domestic terrorism threat and Facebook banned QAnon-themed groups (although some believe these moves are just making matters worse).
