Fauci says US may want to mandate masks amid COVID-19 surges
Anthony Fauci, the nation's top infectious disease expert, said on Friday that the U.S. may want to mandate face coverings amid the latest surge of coronavirus cases.
In a CNN interview on Friday, Fauci was asked if he thought Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden's plan to fight for mandates on mask-wearing across the country would be helpful.
Fauci told CNN's Erin Burnett that it would be a "great idea" to have everybody wearing masks uniformly. He also responded to criticism that mandates on masks would be difficult to enforce.
"If everyone agrees that this is something that's important and they mandate and everybody pulls together, and says 'we're gonna mandate it, but let's just do it,' I think that would be a great idea to have everybody do it uniformly," Fauci said.

Coverage of business dealings by Joe Biden’s son — and pre-debate allegations by one of his former business associates, Tony Bobulinski — garnered more than twice as much online activity (likes, comments, shares) as the runner-up.
The second-place topic — also pushed by Republicans — was the former vice president’s comments on oil and fracking.
Social media interactions on stories about Hunter and Bobulinski reportedly stood at 1.3 million, far more than the discussions (nearly 545,000) over the second-place topic.
During Thursday’s debate, President Trump accused Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden of a pay-for-play scheme in Ukraine and China related to his son’s business dealings in those two countries.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio have lost another major tax revenue stream as one of the city's largest and wealthiest hedge funds has announced they are moving south to Florida.
Reportedly due to the uncertainty caused by the Wuhan coronavirus pandemic, billionaire New Yorker Paul Singer said this week that he will be moving his $41 billion dollar hedge fund, Elliott Management, to West Palm Beach. Only a small office with a few staffers will remain in the Big Apple.
