Death Toll From Kabul Suicide Attack Rises to 30, 70 Injured

The death toll from a suicide bomb attack near an education center in the Afghan capital has gone up to 30, while at least 70 have been injured, a security source told Sputnik.

A source in the Afghan Ministry of Health earlier told Sputnik that the death toll from the blast stood at 18, with another 50 injured. According to the source, 37 of the wounded were taken to the Jinnah Hospital in Kabul.

On Saturday, a suicide attacker detonated a bomb near the Kawsar e-Danish education center in the Pul-e-Khoshk area of Kabul’s western Dasht-e-Barchi neighborhood. The Interior Ministry put the death toll from the attack at 13 on Saturday, saying that another 30 people had been injured.

According to Afghanistan’s National Directorate of Security, the attacker was attempting to enter the education center.

The Daesh terrorist organization (banned in Russia) has taken responsibility for the Saturday attack in Kabul. Earlier, the Taliban rejected any connection with the attack.

Actor Brad Pitt has thrown all the way down for Joe Biden, voicing an ad for Democratic presidential nominee that aired Saturday night during the World Series.

“America is a place for everyone,” Brad Pitt says in the 60-second spot. “Those who chose this country. Those who fought for it. Some Republicans. Some Democrats. And most, just somewhere in between. All looking for the same thing, someone who understands their hopes, their dreams, their pain, to listen.”

“To bring people together. To get up every day and work make life better for families like yours,” Pitt says. “To look you in the eye, treat you with respect, and tell you the truth. To work just as hard for those who voted for him as those who didn’t. To be a president for all Americans.”

Narrating an ad for Joe Biden is the latest piece of political activism from the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star, who had for years been less outspoken than many of his Hollywood colleagues.

During this year’s Oscar ceremony, the winner of Best Supporting Actor launched a politically charged rant over Trump’s impeachment trial, ripping the Senate for failing to call on former National Security adviser John Bolton as a witness.

“They told me I only have 45 seconds up here, which is 45 seconds more than the Senate gave John Bolton this week,” Pitt quipped. “I’m thinking maybe Quentin does a movie about it. In the end, the adults do the right thing.”

Trump was eventually acquitted by the Senate of all charges.

BLM Activists Assault Black Veteran, Steal American Flag in Los Angeles

A crowd of protesters attacked and assaulted a Black man who claimed to be a veteran. During the disturbance that lasted nearly ten minutes, the crowd is seen assaulting the man multiple times and at one point they steal an American flag from him.

This skirmish broke out during a Say Their Names Graveyard Protest in Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon.

The full video shows the crowd surrounding the Black man and dragging him down the street. They eventually get him up against a car where a man wearing black bloc comes up behind him and steals his U.S. flag.

Businessman father of Russia’s first F1 driver Vitaly Petrov killed in apparent assassination

Aleksandr Petrov, an influential local businessman and politician has reportedly been gunned down by a sniper outside his home in the Leningrad Region. He was the father of Russia's first Formula One driver, Vitaly Petrov.

Petrov was shot dead near his cottage outside Vyborg, a historic city some 130 km northwest of St. Petersburg, local media reported, citing police sources. A guard allegedly found Petrov lying on the ground and called an ambulance, but the businessman succumbed to his injuries on the spot.

Some reports claim a killer with a sniper rifle was involved in the murder. The shooter is now on the run, his identity unknown. Police have launched an investigation into the high-profile murder, with the chief regional investigator personally involved.

Petrov had been regarded as Vyborg’s most prominent businessman. He reportedly had a stake in almost all of the city's major industries and owned some local shipbuilding and fuel companies. He was also a member of the local council.

Mossad head: Saudi normalization ties to be announced after US election

US-mediated normalization talks between Israel and Oman are reportedly close to achieving a breakthrough.

A normalization announcement between Israel and Saudi Arabia will most likely happen following the end of the US presidential elections, Mossad director Yossi Cohen said, N12 reported in the pre-dawn hours of Sunday morning.

The reason for the expected date, Cohen explained, is due to Riyadh's desire to present the normalization as a "gift" of sorts to either US President Donald Trump or his Democratic rival Joe Biden, depending on the outcome of the elections.

"They seem to be waiting for the US election, to give a 'gift' to the president-elect," he explained, according to N12.

The normalization deal will also reportedly involve an arms deal between the US and Saudi Arabia, which could serve to cushion the move, Cohen said.

Normalized ties is something many in Israel and Saudi Arabia look forward to, with a recent poll by Zogby Research Services finding that nearly 80% of Saudis are in favor of working towards normalizing ties with Israel within the next five years. This was reflective of another poll published by Mitvim – The Israeli Institute for Regional Foreign Policies, which saw Saudi Arabia as the country most Israelis would like to next establish normalized ties.

In addition, it was also reported by N12 citing Israeli sources that US-mediated normalization talks between the Jewish state and Oman are close to achieving a breakthrough. In fact, these sources believe Oman is the most likely country to next normalize ties, though some believe Muscat will take a more cautious approach and not sign anything until the election is over.

These announcements follow the ongoing wave of full relations being established between Israel and countries in the Arab world, with Sudan recently announcing a move towards normalization.
