Wouldn't be the first to do it. Blues legend, Robert Johnson was alleged to have sold his soul to the Devil at the Crossroads in order to play the blues better than any other.
His songs often reflected those themes. I'm sure you've heard Eric Clapton's Crossroads….yeah, well that was a Robert Johnson tune first. One of Johnson's other big hits was Hellhound on My Tail.
Adding to the story that he sold his soul was the fact that he died very young…I believe he was only 29….and under extremely mysterious circumstances. Some say he had the hots for a woman & her jealous boyfriend/ex-boyfriend poisoned Johnson….some say it was the Devil bringing the contract due.
