Joe is in trouble. And I don't mean the election. If he has been sacrificed by his own Dems, it means he is no longer useful in any real sense. He has been compromised and would be a lame duck President with his baggage.
But he knows stuff and despite displays of senility, I think that old brain is firing on all cylinders. He knows things. So whilst no longer useful to Dems going forward, he IS dangerous.
So if Dems sacrificed him and his son - he knows it. He'll have known instantly - "I'm being fed to the wolves here - I've been stabbed in the back"
Maybe that's the purpose of Rudy coming up with the repair man. He was telling Dems "we have this stuff. We'll use it, …. unless you use it first. "
